Why do you in Europe call the player by his last name? Here in Brazil we call it pedro lima or just "pedro".
@stevehaire63244 ай бұрын
@@andrade1009-s4o A force of habit I imagine. I suppose it stems from it being common in England for people to have the same first name, whereas surnames tend to be more diverse. In addition to this, 99% of the time it is the player's surname on the back of the shirt, so it stands to reason that people would call them by the name on their shirt. I'd be interested to know what country you're from*, why you would call them by their first name, and if it's something similar (but in reverse) to what I've said for in England. *I'm also aware that in other countries, the first name is usually more diverse than the surname; so the opposite of what it is in England. Maybe this is the reason? *EDIT:* I just noticed that you stated that you're from Brazil.

@@andrade1009-s4o He looks good so far, fitting in well with the group. I also saw a few videos of him when it was first announced that we were interested in signing him. Again, he looked good in the videos - but highlight videos usually do look good. How would you rate him? What would you say are his strong points, things we should look out for? Thank you.

Looks to ba good attitude and togetherness amongst the squad. Hopefully, we can still pick up a a few more players. The new guys look like they will add quality.

With wolves saying we’re going for Europe, with these new young lads we should have a good season. We need it as we haven’t had the support from the board but this season looks to be different.

There seems more comments about Podence, and all good, than any other player. I think he's TOPS!
@stevehaire63244 ай бұрын
I agree, Steve; with everything you've said. I was going to leave a comment about how good Podence looked but figured that most people aren't a fan of his. It looks like I've misjudged people's thoughts on him. That being said; it could simply be that people are just saying what they see - and that's most certainly a sharp looking Danny boy. It'll be interesting to see where it goes for him. From what I understand, he didn't feel like he was a part of O'Neil's plans at the start of last season, so he felt disenfranchised. Let's hope that he has it in him to not let that affect him, and for him to show what he's capable of so that Gary has to take notice. Signs so far look like that may be the case. Fingers crossed. I genuinely rate him as a player.

27 direct goal contributions last season is hard to ignore from Podence. With 1 year remaining on his contract, which he agreed to in Wolves favour to protect his value - will he stay or go? He could have moved for free on July 1 without signing that extension. He looks like he's ready to go. Galvanised by a very successful stint in Greece again

I really hope he STAYS and PLAYS!
@stevehaire63244 ай бұрын
@@bestofluckusa O'Neil needs to show faith in Podence for him to want to stick around. Podence needs to show intent and eagerness for Gary to do that - and that's what I'm seeing in these early training sessions. It's up to both of them. If Podence keeps this up then Gary has to factor him in as a key player. If he can convince Podence of this, then I can't see why he won't wish to stick around and extend his contract. Personally; I hope he does.
