Hii brother first of all amazing playing ♥. Might I Ask You? I wanna buy this one only a Charcoal Blue one NX. Shiiit that sounds soo massive and great. I was just reading some stuff about neck diving? Like because the body is chambered, the neck is going down? So dunno. I can't try it personally. But I love everything about that guitar. Specs, look. Could someone elaborate for me? For example regarding quality build, it's still made in Indonesia so.... About your own experiences with this particular model. Thank You
@toneseeker66273 жыл бұрын
At first I was excited because that top is beautiful. Then you find out its veneer. Then you find out its not roasted maple neck or fretboard anymore. Then you find out they changed the body wood. Improvements? An arm contour, which granted it needed, and improved pots. Oh and a new gig bag. Price? $100 more. Now, I’ve read their reasoning for making these changes, and if they want to make them, I think that’s fine. But if you are going to purposefully downgrade the components, then the price should reflect that. This is the opposite.
@bmhyakiri3 жыл бұрын
Yeesh and the fact that their guitars are $2-3k and made in Indonesia... Something isn't right when you can spend $2k on a made in America PRS instead.
@toneseeker66273 жыл бұрын
I haven’t double checked, but I believe Core series and up are the USA made PRS and they start about 4K, almost twice as much. This is more inline price wise with the Japanese made E2 series. To be honest, if Strandberg had dropped a real QM top at that price point, I probably would have bought one, even if it was Indonesian made. The Strandbergs I’ve seen have been pretty decent quality. I’m willing to pay for American made to support jobs here, and for the quality, but it’s not a must. I don’t like that they are increasing the cost while decreasing the quality of their materials.
@bmhyakiri3 жыл бұрын
@@toneseeker6627 the CE models are $2k and made in the US, I personally have the dustie waring model and that one is $2600ish. I've seen a lot of posts and videos of the strandbergs having poor QC, which is a shame because they're cool guitars.

awesome vid THANKS. I was wondering what you think this scale length might be able to drop tune ? I read its low side is 26.25. without going to a super thick string what would be a guess can it do DROP G or G# ???
@flowryan58292 жыл бұрын
The string set that comes with it is the NYXL095-64 set. That set is balanced out for Standard B tuning. So the low string is already not too thin to begin with. For Drop A you‘d probably get away with a .70 gauge string on the low a. For G you‘d already need a .80 gauge string according to the string tension calculator. So, that‘d be a pretty thicc boy. Just go completely nuts and get the NX8. That should do you the biggest favor.
@CorpseChords2 жыл бұрын
@@flowryan5829 Wtf? your using a .70 for drop a? I use .72 for Drop F Same scale length.. You can get a way with soo much less on Drop A than a .70..
@flowryan58292 жыл бұрын
@@CorpseChords Yeah but then you‘ll be playing in flopp city. I like it when the guitar remains a certain amount of tension. If I take lighter gauges, I‘d have to face things like pitch drift, fret buzz and pushing chords out of tune. And I‘m not talking loads of tension. Just the usual 9-46 -in-E-Standard-feeling. Nothing too fancy. Right now I‘m playing an Ormsby Goliath 6 String in Drop B with 12-62 Mammoth Ernie Balls. Perfection.

The Multiscale by Ormsby is insanely good for downtuning. I play my six strings usually in Drop B and that scale length allows stupidly thin string gauges for that tuning. It‘s just a dream to play.

Isn't Sassafras endangered and red listed because they've been harvesting them to the brink of extinction to produce MDMA? I guess it's a good thing that they use the wood for something good, but if it's really endangered I don't see why they choose this particular wood.
@dustinwheeler42653 жыл бұрын
Not sure if it’s endangered or not, but Ola did comment that only the first run of NX guitars will have sassafras bodies. The official Strandberg page says that it’s due to it not being consistently obtainable for production. Once the first run is done they’ll be switching back to swamp ash
