Thank you. I have a Vader with Holdsworths (was. now with Slash) so i have some ideas how the Salen will sound when it finally arrives.

Thanks to you for the comment! 🙏🏻😊 Between the two, the important differences are: 1) Salen's five-position selector (my HH2 is three) which makes it much more versatile; 2) greater soundness and comfort than the Salen, applied to my playing. For the rest, they are both splendid! 🤟🏻

This was a couple years ago, but I had Kiesel build me a custom guitar and they sent me an absolute stinker. Jagged frets and one of the pickups was a lemon. Just cut out and stopped working. Checked all the solder and everything was in place. They wouldn't take it back because I had a roasted maple neck on it. Had to change the pickup and wound up selling the guitar on reverb for a big loss. Never dealing with those tools again, and won't hesitate to let anyone know what a trash company they are.

I've looked at the guitar builder function on their site and there is warning after warning about Don't Choose This Option/That Option Because Your Guitar Will Be Unreturnable. I couldn't help but think, "If all these options make an ax unreturnable, why offer them in the first place?" It makes no sense to me.
@angusorvid8840
@angusorvid8840 2 жыл бұрын
@@lex.cordis The site warns you about every other option you choose as making a guitar unreturnable. I don't understand their business model. A lot of their guitars look pretty nice to me, but I've heard too many negative experiences of dealing with them. Back in the 80s when I started getting custom axes I had nothing but great experiences with the builders I worked with. They were very clear with me on every option I chose. This was in L.A. in the 80s, during the metal/shred craze, and I had a rep as a shredder in a number of bands I was in. So I was always souping up my guitars for high performance or getting them built from scratch. I was lucky to find great builders. I've also had very good experiences recently with Sam Ash where I've gotten a lot of work done on my guitars, usually with specialized pickups/electronics, fine fretwork, nut replacement, etc. Very satisfied. Guitar Center also did some good work for me. If I ran Kiesel I would modify the guitar builder function and put up a notice about why we don't have certain options and an explanation about the business model for the sake of transparency and good communication with artists.

@@angusorvid8840 Yes, many choice options make the guitar non-returnable. I built my HH2 standard, as Holdsworth wanted it, but the matte sunburst finish, it seems to me, already gave me non-returnable. However I would not return or sell it for anything in the world!

Virtually no sound difference between them with all of the pedals on. Which one feels better to play?
@francescolandi70

They are completely different. Short scale (Gibson) the HH2, long the Salen. The handles are extremely different. They are both easy to play, between the two, as a feeling, I prefer the Salen, but it's a personal matter ... 😉

Hi Tony! You're right, the clean sound can't be heard here, but my channel is full of videos where I play the Salen and Kiesel in clean mode. If you feel like it, go ahead and search, You will certainly find 😉 The difference is under your fingers and it's not easy to make it feel... I'm sorry you didn't like the video 😔

Hi Francesco! Amazing playing on your channel. Can i ask, a year later, which of these guitars do you prefer? They are in similar price range and i think many peole, like me, will be in the position of having to decide on one or the other without trying. Grazie!

HI! Thanks first of all for the appreciation to my channel 🙏🏻🙏🏻 A year ago the choice fell on Salen, even if every now and then the passion for Kiesel came out and I played the HH2 for a while. They are two very different guitars, especially for the feeling of the neck. Today, if I didn't have Klein, maybe I would choose Strandberg between the two, but it's a personal matter and a feeling with the tool... I hope I've been helpful 🤗

@@francescolandi70 I will definitely try Strandbergs as well. I've been wanting a headless ever since I tried a Steinberger back in '86, but they were incredibly pricey then and if they didn't have one at a store there was a very long waiting list. I like the idea of a highly ergonomic and lightweight guitar as I have bad back issues. This is why I could never play a Les Paul. I played one during band rehearsal in '87 or so and had a terrible backache the next day. I had to put a Hot Rail in my strat so I could get a big metal sound out of it for the band I was in. When I tried a Steinberger I loved it immediately. I have a PRS and really love it because it's ergonomic. I'll be trying Strandbergs soon.
