One Strat I like to use for storing spears is just throwing them at my raft, they stick into the raft so you can just stick a buttload to it and don't need to use up any storage lockers. Just grab from the pincushion when you need em

If your raft gets flipped. Grab one end of the raft and dive under it and come up on the other side. This is a quick way to right the raft.

Build a tall skinny structure and take out all the trees on a small island, you can see it from a very far distance. I also use the big ship island that has the plane in it for guidance. Compass is okay but you really gotta know where you're going.

A great tip I figured out is that if you're on an island with no shade, craft a spear, then throw it straight down into the ground. Then grab your inflatable raft (haven't tried it with a buildable one yet), and flip it over so that the bottom is facing the sky. Then grab the side and prop it up onto the spear in the ground, crouch under, and boom. Instant shade

Another important tip you can drink two coconuts. Wait for 10 minutes in game. You just pull out your watch and wait for 10 minutes to pass by then you can drink two more coconuts without getting sick

I’ve gotten to a point where I made plank shelves and labeled it: Emergency and put all my health things in there so I can take it with me everywhere. The Antidote, Breath Boost, Aloe Salve, Shark Repellent, etc.

I normally roll with six containers on shelves, all labeled. Medicine, Outpost (Rocks and Cloth), Small Tools (spare knife, label maker, etc.), Foodstuffs(Rations, Beans, and Smoked), Sundries(Air Pump, Sleeping Bag), and Tools(Hammers and Pickaxe, for clay). Those are at the front of my raft. The back racks are usually empty, so I have better visibility from the rudder.

If you do get lost, quickly find some place to make a shelter save, then exit the game and check the cartographer, it will hightlight which island you are on and you''ll be able to figure out your way back to the starting island which is always the centre island on the map.

Hey just found out that if you ping PLANKS and drag the whole tree over to the plank maker it will make the planks without chopping up the tree and saving your equipment durability a little longer, doesn't help in making sticks though. Also I added the bed roll to my raft and it seems to stay pretty well.

I have a box on a shelf labeled "Sundries" that contains a sleeping bag and a couple other handy travel items. Another box that contains Rock and Cloth for easy outposting.

Harvest the spears from dead sharks before skinning so you gain back most if not all spears used before the body disappears once skinned.

Here a Tip ⚠️ To cook alot of meat fast without a fire spit is just make a camp fire and drop all your meat on the fire, it will cook it all.

Rain will revive crops. Sharks won't go in the shallow water, but you can still kill them in shallow water. Custom islands won't spawn sharks.

idk if its changed but custom islands spawn sharks like crazy now. They can be even worse since a lot of custom island have steep drop offs to the ocean and there really aren't any "shallows"

Build two sails on your raft. One forward and one backwards. That way you don't get stuck as easily on rocks. Build your anchor within reach of your rudder so you can stop without letting go. Build a canopy over your rudder so you can stay cool while sailing. Build a second raft so you can have a large, main one for collecting resources, and another more nimble one for when you just need to explore to find specific items like Jerry cans or vehicle parts.

When I am collecting fibrous leaves to make lashings, I go to the Yucca plants, whack them until the leaves fall and then hold the crafting key. When the lashing is crafted, I only have to pick up 2 more leaves which is very handy when the yucca plant is in the bushes. I like to leave outposts too. When I do I try to leave a water still that is full of water with leaves in the bottom, a smoker with smoked meat hanging and a full fire pit and a shelter where I can save the game and sleep. If I can collect some small crabs and fish, Ill leave them behind too since they do not rot if you do not clean them.Sometimes I’ll leave a shark on the beach too so I can make big steaks to take with me at the tend of my visit to the outpost.

As a newer player my best tip is go to the starting island strip down all fibrous leaves then grab all rocks make 2 axes and a refined knife chop down all the wood you can carry with other supplies found and hop onto starter raft go to closest island and rinse and repeat till you land at a good island you like

I know this is a little thing but instead of climbing a tree to grab the coconuts throw a crude spear at them it will save you from maybe breaking your leg by accidentally jumping down from too high

5:33 about drinking will help lots. I've downloaded it on PS4 & played this for the first time a week back. It's so frustrating at times (only survived two days twice) but I'm sticking with it because I know it'll come to be a favourite (like Everybody's Gone To The Rapture) once I get the hang of it.

I'd like to stress how great Tip #2 is. Use poisoning to your advantage!! Ok, so I never got poisoned "on purpose" ..but have considered it LOL. Once poisoned, I can do so many things without keeping my head on a constant swivel... no worry about a lion fish swimming past while I mine clay or loot large ships... no need to watch my step on the beach. Plus I can harvest many lion fish for crafting. You can be poisoned for quite a while and be ok.. so get your clay & loot in that time!! ..and many other tasks without having to worry.... then just cure yourself

You can only put 12 fronds in a crate. You can put 12 palm bunches in a crate. 5 fronds per bunch. So you get 60 fronds in a crate to take back to your island and feed your still per crate. Then you can use the fibrous leaves to make cloth and lashings. I also take all the yucca fruits and can replant my crops if I leave for too long and they spoil. Just kick the leaves off and re water the crops and you'll hav e piles of leaves on each farm in no time.

The most chilling moment ive had playing this game was when i was mining clay. I was using the breath booste potion (I forget what its called) and I had been mining clay for a good amount of time. I wasnt using shark repelant because I was trying to kill the tiger shark that was in the area while mining clay, which i was successful in doing. So i had the shark meat smoking on the shore and I was mining again not paying attention to any dangers thinking I was safe because I had killed the shark on that side of the island. As Im swimming looking for clay deposites i spot one right on the edge of the drop off so I take a breath and dive down to mine. I have 3 more pieces to mine when suddenly my pick breaks. As I pick up the last piece of clay that dropped when my pick broke I happen to look up and not 10 feet in front of me is a great white coming right for me. The distance between me and it allowed me to strafe to the left and dodge the attack. I immediatly hug a rock and take my chance to book it to shore once it passes by the rock heading back out but still circling me. I cant tell you the abaolute fear that came over me when I first saw it. Made me jump more than any horror game Ive ever played. PS yes I went back out with my raft and killed the great white. Twas good eatin.

Build your buildings with NAVIGATION in mind. Your Shelter makes a natural arrow, and you'll probably build one on a new island anyway; make it point home. Or make it point to the last island you came from, and have THAT one point home. Between that and landmarks such as the Carrier, you never get lost.

I'm not sure if this works everywhere but my wife and I have discovered that if you put drank coconuts into a pile not piled on the beach but hold a drank coconut press c with at least 2 husked coconuts in your inventory you can make a pile like lashings or sticks or stones etc. When you return to the pile the formerly drank coconuts will be drinkable again. Handy drink hack.

Thanks for this video. I'd been doing the coconut thing because my start island only had like 7 coconuts and I wanted the flasks for later, but I didn't know it turned the water to fresh water. Thanks! I'm feeling pretty stuck right now and I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Day 1, I gathered all stones and sticks and harvested all fibrous leaves so they would respawn. I have 2 water stills, meat smoker, a loom, and shelter. I'm fine on food and water, the problem is I have 2 stones left, and soon will have no way to make refined knives and so no way to skin what I hunt. So I figured maybe this game is explore or die, right? Went to a nearby wreck on my raft- tiger shark knocked me off my raft over and over. It was so slow to paddle back in, the shark basically killed me at his leisure as I tried to get back to shore. Ok, maybe I need to build a raft? There is NO way I could build a raft with the small amount of stones and sticks on this island. Looked up the resources and yeah, there is no way. Just making the hammer would take my last 2 stones I think. Killing a shark takes 8 spears? That's a huge investment for me with the trees I have (or rather don't). If I kill a tiger at a wreck, will that area be shark free for a while? Or is it that each time I go into deeper water, a shark will spawn instantly? So far the shark music comes up each time the instant I cross into deeper water, and the sharks swim right into rocks, ships, etc and then teleport around. I'll be dead soon, despite full health and hunger/thirst due to either a lack of knife to skin or because I tried to use the raft, and was eaten since sharks have a raft vendetta. So any advice? Do I need to prioritize building a raft over all else from day 1? Do you usually start out traveling on the yellow raft, if so, how do you make it to another island on that? Is this game only possible if the player uses known 'good' seeds so they have enough stones, trees, and coconuts to build a camp and a raft from the start island? This is my second world, and both starting islands promptly started running out of stones which apparently don't ever respawn. Thanks for any help you can give. PS. Will my pile of supplies like planks and metal and stuff despawn when I visit another island? Don't want to lose those items but not ready to build with them yet

@@ujayet Great! The game I started after posting this, is now on day 300 something. I just finished my clay mansion. I found out that there was an update that made sharks more aggressive. So I just put the game on passive, and only turn it to default when I'm ready hunt. Also, for anyone who finds this- building a raft was my top priority and that worked great. I only built shelter, campfire and water still, and then just quickly built a raft and got off the start island. Now I have so many stones I can't store them all. Now that I've built everything, I'll probably go after the bosses and end game soon. Worth getting past the somewhat frustrating beginning!

With a 3 section wide Raft you can not put panels on the inner sections and place crates there in a single layer. They won't rock off

I saw another good tip that helps out when you get to new islands and you haven't built a water still you can drink and eat more coconuts without having diarrhea you have to wait 10 seconds in game so if you drink two coconuts and then look at your watch wait 10 seconds to go by and then you can drink another two and you won't get diarrhea same applies when eating the coconuts it's so helpful

I know this is weird to suggest but, when hunting sharks, or bigger game like the large grouper, I use the crude axe or refined axe. Way more overpowered versus spears. Haven't tested them on bosses quite yet, but I'm thinking I'll have similar results. 🤔

Been playing for like a week now. What’s the best way to get water. For ( ingame ) days now it hasn’t rained and my only source of water had been coconuts and I’m pretty sure they’re not respawning and so I’m kinda stuck in a death loop; frantically running around trying to look for a coconut to drink from before I die again. As for food, food is EASY. Coconuts, crabs, fish, boars theres so many food sources. It actually surprises me that there isn’t like a way to collect water from the ocean and boil it over a fire so that it’s not saltwater anymore. Wish theres also a little info section when hovering over a craftable item that gives me info on what it does as opposed to jumping over to google every so often.

Put palm frawns under the water still or fibrous leaves under the water still they act like wood would on the fire.. dont ask me why fibrous leaves or palm leaves cause water to generate but there it is. So if you grab 4 palm frawns or 4 fibrous leaves.. look under the water still and add them just like you add wood to the fire to cook food. Give it a little bit and youll start generating water in your water still.. dont wait for it to rain youll just dehydrate before that.

When I'm going on an expedition for resources I carry an empty storage crate in each backpack slot. This triples the storage capacity 😊 it is a pain to unload them all just to fill them up, but it cuts down on the number of trips from other islands back to home base (I just started playing a day ago and I haven't built a raft/barge yet).

So I hadn't read all the comments, but as well have been playing this on my own, one suggestion I have is regards to the smoker and water still....the amount of items to make either fits perfectly in a single crate...I have "go boxes" for each and they're probably(as far as I know) the only items you can infinitely break down, store, and re-build these. I get building a shelter as a marker...but having to constantly find, use, build these in regards to resources sucks.... adjacently you can also build a tower instead of the three for a island marker. Hope it helps...

Make a pile of coconut drinks, put empty coconut drinks back into your pile and it will make them full again (infinite water with 2-10 rule) you’re welcome

I don't know if you do this but here's a tip so you'll never get lost make a small raft put a boat engine on it and an anchor take it out play stem strategically around your Island pretty much like a channel marker you can literally see that lantern two islands away plus it gives you a nice clean simulated look

If you're into this game, this is my tip............. Build a decent size raft with plenty of crates and shelves. On you raft, put four sails. North, South, East, West. Much easier to get around.

If you build a 3x3 raft, don't use floor boards to the center piece, instead you can put storage containers in the middle slot to have extra storage wherever you go. I was able to fit about 7 containers in the middle section for my raft.

A tip for the coconut thing is called the 2 10 method you eat 2 coconuts then wait 10 in game minutes and you can eat another 2

So, still valid tips even if the vid is 3j old. Here are my thoughts: Multitasking: Agree Cure for poison ready: Agree Some Outposts: Partially agree. Personally i make an outpost on every single island. The minimum is a water still, a simple fire and a small shelter as long as i have no bedroll. Building one stick foundation as high as possible near the water still an fire is optional, it's the simplest most cheapest way to protect you from the sun. Building these things not only guarantees your survival, it also tells you for sure if you have already visited this island. Risk vs Reward: Partially agree. It depends if you are playing early, mid or late game. If you are early game and you just have made your one and only refined spear.. ye.. Don't throw that.. ever! Keep it to defend yourself against giant crabs and adult boars. But as soon as you have more than one refined spear AND you have enough crude spears as backup to finish off whatever attacks you, use them. The faster you can kill an agressive animal that corner you, the less likely you get injured. Even if you should miss one or two times, sharks and boars will give you back leather to craft the lost refined spears. 3 leathers for sharks, 4 leathers for a boar. When fighting a boar by throwing refined spears just be aware of what lies behind the boar. Spears won't break if the hit grass or sand, but they will break if they hit rock. If xou pay attention you should be able to recover spears that missed the target during or after the fight. i am in late game now and i carry only 4 refined spears to fend off sharks. They go down if you manage to hit with all 4 spears. Should i miss one, then i try to recover one that hit the shark when he swims by, make sure you swim close to an obstacle (big rock formation, sunken boat) in order that you don't get snatched when he's charging towards you. But i have like 8 reserve refined spears on my raft that has 18 wooden box storage capacity. If you are not to good at throwing the spear i recomend to add some crude spears on top of the 4 refined ones. Late game, leather is not a concern anymore for me. I also keep an average of 12 leather strings on my raft. At this point i usually even stop bothering farming this resource, since sharks are so abundant i only replenish from time to time.

If you make a shaved coconut pile you have an infinite supply of water just pick one up drink it and put it back in the pile and it will somehow refill

Extremely Useful Tips That I Always Use and theres 2 ways to do it : 1: go to your raft fock that paddling Grab an object like a stone and by grabbing it i mean hit the right nouse button then jump in the mid of ur raft crouch and hit the side of the raft gently with the rock held with the mouse and the raft well go like super SPEEEEEEED 2 Craft A raft but on the way like shown or like a + each ||| Are a wood raft or what ever and put on the most top a crates shelf and do the same method on the raft grab an object and push it into the shelfs gently and travel super speed with your raft .... build a raft that has a rudder and anchor on opposite ends...a sail facing one direction...and a sail on the other end facing another direction..that way its easier to leave an island as u will be facing the opposite direction when leaving. no need to turn around the raft

You need to go to the main menu. Click the option called "cartographer" and it shows you the map of your current save game. The map shows skulls which are the boss battles, and one of the skulls is the location of a navy ship with a plane you will use to escape, by killing the bosses then you get the parts to repair the plane. Tip: don't repair the parts of the plane separately as the plane can refresh, and you'll have to fight the boss again.

To defeat snakes or really anything. Craft some spears and get up on a big rock and the boar or snake or crab can’t knock you off or attack you. It’s an easy kill for me.

As a BRAND new player on Xbox... Water is not an issue if you just get three (3) coconuts. Idk if this will be fixed (probably not) but you can make "piles" of drinkable coconut water. If you put EMPTY coconuts into the "pile" they magically re-fill. Just please only drink TWO (2) every 10 seconds. Then put them back. UNLIMITED HYDRATION just sayin...

I just beat this game and boy did I get lost heavy I made the biggest raft and and heavy crates I mean I had like 30 crates on it and evrytime time I came to a island I farmed the crap out of it and I made all the refined spears I could make because when I killed sharks I get leather so before I took out luka I made like 30 refined spears and still ran out like at Almost dead lucky I had the spear gun with like 22 arrows left almost didn’t kill him

I just started playing on PC recently. I played for awhile on console, but the difference is night and day imo. I love PC. I like the idea of setting up small bases on most of the islands I visit. It doesn't take much resources that you can't just find on the new island and it helps a lot especially if you are like me and play at work and need a quick save to run and fix an airplane real quick 😂. I haven't done much shark hunting I still have mini strokes when I run into them. I started to use the bow and arrow I like the way it fires it's just fun to me, but to actually hunt the shark I've thought about starting on the boat and firing multiple arrows then diving in to finish off with spears. Has anyone tried this out? Anyone else like the bows or have any tips for using them? I know they are another resource drain but I just enjoy them.

If you use 2 - 4 coconuts to do the 2 10 drinking rule.... then you make a pile of empty coconuts they refill instantly.

You can only make coconut flask with a unhusked coconut and a lashing. There is no way to use empty coconuts to fill with water after you have taken the husk off and drank them.

@@GranddaddyGamer So you can, actually. Drink two coconuts, craft a pile with the two empty coconuts. At any time, remove a coconut from the pile and drink again. Renewable coconut water. Replace empty coconut to the pile, which will refill. Just make sure you still remember the 2/10 rule, only drinking 2 within 10 game minutes. You’ll always be topped off if you combine this with using a water still. This is what @Fat stack was trying to tell you.

My sharks are bugged so far i only ran into idk 4 or 5 of em so far. But none of them have attacked me and i cant attack them. I dont have it set to where animals wont attack. Boors crabs snakes they all attack me. So far sharks dont and i do not know why.

Potatoes are necessary for gas no way around it. I would recommend just exploring new islands and there’s on average at least 2 per island depending on size. They grow in the dirt and they have green leaves above them. Idk if you know the Kura fruit tree which is dark and quite tall, the potato bush is around 1/3 the size it doesn’t rise much off the ground but it’s the same dark green colour. Looks like in real life potato. Good luck

I just started playing stranded deep on the PS4 my major question is could you use cartographer to replace your custom islands with the resources that don't respond by removing the custom island then readding it in based on what you saved when you made it on cartographer cuz I'm going to be building stuff like crazy on my saved game also your custom Islands that you just made can they be used on any save file even if it's like a save file from before you made those islands

As far as I know, on PC I put a custom island in the world, stripped it, removed it from the world and then put it back in. It was still stripped. Also the procedurally generated island I put my custom island over was stripped before I put the island there, and it was still stripped when I removed it. I’ve read that if you want to reset a custom island, you have to go back in cartographer, back into editing the island, and save it again.

Why do that with coconuts when you can grab 4 and husk them and hold R1 to make a coconut pile and it automatically refills drunken vicinity after you add them to the pile. Therefore you have unlimited cocunuts
