Stranded in Brunei Airport after AirAsia Refuses to Let Me Board; Kiwi com Does Nothing to He

I retrieved my checked suitcase that AirAsia offloaded from Flight 279 (BWN-KUL) 4-29-17 after refusing to board me because it said my two small carry-on backpacks were too heavy and they had no means to accept my credit card for payment of a US$50 excess carry-on fee. There are no other flights options to get me toward Laos tonight. I’m in stunned disbelief at what has transpired. I connect with travel booking site kiwi.com customer service online chat, however the agent refuses to assist me and fails to honor the site’s booking guarantee stating they will aid stranded customers with flight rebookings, a hotel room, and meals. This is all utter insanity.

Despite what happen with you. You still remain calm which is i respect. And im truly sorry what happened due to this new AirAsia policy. This thing happens to me back then in other airport.

I am terribly sorry for what happened. Even though the government has tried to improve service for foreigners we are still obviously lacking in areas. This is definitely not the first time this has happened. On behalf of the country and my people I hope you can forgive us for what happened. Thank you for coming to our country and I hope you do not judge the entire country based off this single mistake. I apologize again for this poor service.

Kiwi.com's booking informed me AirAsia permits 1 carry-on bag at 7 kg (15 pounds). I later learned AirAsia permits 2 carry-on bags, so I assumed it was 7 kg each. I'd never heard of an airline policy combining weight for 2 carry-on bags. 7 kg is a laughably low combined limit. My carry-on suitcase empty weights about 3 kg!

That's right, you ASSUMED. Why can't you just admit your mistake? Virtually every airline only allows around 7 kilos carry-on plus one laptop bag (weight up to 2 kilos). There is no airline in the world that officially allows you 14 kilos carry-on, ESPECIALLY not low-cost carriers.

@@mikeb7025 Wrong! Here in the USA virtually every airline has no weight limit for carry-on luggage. The limit is 1 carry-on suitcase plus 1 personal item. Carry-on bags are never weighed.

I've been to Uzbekistan. If you need ATM you have to go to the airport or big hotels. I guess same goes for credit cards. It's unbelievable that countries with scarce ATM machines and credit cards still exist. If you are expecting tourists, your country should be ready with cash cards.

Wow only 7kg for 2 luggage. 😭 Airasia should change the carry on policy from 7kg to 10 kg than it would make everyone happy. Airasia rather charge more on the flight ticket then charge the customer for their carry on .

Really?…How is the airport the ''Best'' When wifi only lasts an hour in there. Limited food choices inside the terminal. Boring and highly un entertaining on transit, no shuttle buses between near by hotels. I'm not being a dick its just the truth kawan

I had no problems with the Brunei BWN airport. The problem was with AirAsia and my ticket booking agency, kiwi.com.
