You are the smart one, the guy with the nice rig is probably making payments. I don't envy those guys, I actually feel sorry for them. BTW, your humble and honest and you don't act all weird like some of the other youtubers.

Glad everything worked out for you. It's amazing what a prayer to God can do. God bless you and your boat. Headed to Falcon 3/29/2018

Never get down on yourself or let anyone digging your boat bother you. We are working men that work hard for every dollar and we do what we can to have a nice time doing things we love. I wish I had a boat like yours but I don’t. Take care and enjoy your boat that didn’t cost you an arm and a leg and fish the heck out of it! Blessings

don't let those kind of people let you down. you have to start somewhere. start from the bottom makes you appreciate what you have. my first boat was a 12ft 6hp Johnson Jon boat. sold that and upgraded to a 14ft 8hp honda Jon boat. 26 years old now and and I finally was able to afford a boat that meets my fishing style. 17ft x 6ft all aluminum deep v 50hp Honda. It really irritates me when those bigger boats make fun smaller boats. boats are a luxury and not everyone is willing to finance one. it's all about being out on the water and enjoying yourself.

What a fantastic comment! All of my life I have fished out of a 14 foot johnboat with my dad and granddad. Some of the best memories of my life have come from fishing from the back of that boat! Thank you for your kind words!

The guy with the new Skeeter was a Jerk. I love seeing the older bassboats out there and even more, love the stories of the restoration projects. Great job on this boat and I assure you it is by far a much better boat in so many ways than that fancy I-Crap...I mean I-Class the other guy had. Once again congrats on the trip, the boat as well as the easy repair.

Thanks for the encouragement. I have been more than satisfied with this fantastic little boat! Perhaps one day I can be the guy with the nice new I-series...and I won't be a jerk about it!

Oh dude, you gotta great boat, im 55yrs old got my 1st boat last year, its an old 84 procraft 1540 with 1973 evinrude 85hp, needs work but im very grateful and content, kids are grown so my time can be used on boat, you've done a great job with it, id love a newer boat, maybe some day, if not im so happy that im off the bank fishing, keep up the vids.

I've been a bank Fishman for the last couple of years myself! It is funny, even when you get a blessing such as an old boat that runs, we are always longing for the newer one! I think that speaks to our human character at times…

There is a special place in heaven for people who restore old bass boats. God Bless you sir and your humble work. As far as the other guy goes, there are a lot of bassholes that hang out around Marinas, Bait stores... the like. If you don't have the new top of the line stuff they look down on you. Just ignore them, most of them can't fish anyway. A few years ago I had an issue and my old boat wouldn't start. The cranking battery was dead, so we moved a trolling battery back.. while I was standing on the very back of the transom holding the heavy battery some basshole came pulling up in his brand new triton. He never offered to help us, just observing and then all of a sudden he slammed the throttle sending me and the battery over the rails. Luckily it was the old battery and it was a hot day. A few weeks later in a money tournament, he was there and I spanked his ass and took the cash in my old boat. Victory never tasted so sweet. All his fancy new boat and sonar equipment and he lost to my 30 year old javelin and a humminbird that was older than me.

I thought you were going to say the other guys boat wouldn’t start. One time at falcon this guy in a 14 ft Jon boat pulled out like four 6-8 pounder to filet.

I stumbled on your channel and I've been binge watching..dude ! Pretty good...I've been a boat mechanic for years... actually just starting back into it..have been in the construction industry for the last 15 years..anywho..I got really interested in the old Skeeter, and I believe you said there is a following or a group that collects and run these old skeeters?? Well I live in KY ..lake Cumberland is in back yard..I was looking at FB market place, and came across a guy selling an old Skeeter bass boat..the boat looks sharp, no motor, and he wants to keep the trailer for some reason.the price is 300..what do you think?
@PastoralHomesteadOutdoors6 жыл бұрын
David Jessee it sounds like an ok deal. Make sure he has the title, that can be an issue. You can find a trailer that will work also. You might look around for a set up that already has everything together. You’ll always spend more than you think putting everything together. Either way, it sounds like a great project. On Facebook, check out ‘skeeter Boat Restoration Page’ it is administered by a man named Carl. It’s a great resource!

Maybe time stamp your videos? I watch vids of fish getting caught all day. But was it 1 fish per hour? or 3 fish in a 8 hour trip. or 5 fish in 10 mins, then dry spell all day? I'd like to see time stamps. Also, when you catch a fish, please show the bait or lure you had on. I love to see what worked. I'll watch fishing ALL Day. (until the boss catches me.... )

first thing. that guy with the new truck in boat, he doesn't own that. the bank does. so dont beat yourself up over being in less dept. I love boats and just bought my first bass boat 2 weeks ago 1989 kingfisher kinda like what your doing to that old skeeter but not as bad hahaha. Me personally i would like to see your lures and possibly buy some. Always put our creator first and you'll never do with out.

I would love that. It's just that I'm kinda a beginner. I use to fish with my Dad when I was a kid and I loved it. For some reason we stopped at about 10 yes old. And now that I'm all grown and have a Grandson that's 1 year old. I'm trying to learn so when he gets older I can teach him and hopefully he will love it just as much as me. Plus the quality time we would be able to spend with eachother is priceless. So, if you would still want me I'd love it.
@PastoralHomesteadOutdoors7 жыл бұрын
I love it. Let's schedule something. I'll provide gear (that I'm able to) and we'll go from there. Pick a day between now and Easter and I'll make it happen.
