I cannot remember a time when I flew out of Canada and we didn't have a delay. Air canada, westjet, Swoop... They always have an excuse. It takes longer to take a flight from Edmonton to Calgary due to the delays and check in then it does to drive the 4 hours across the province. That is embarrassing. The airlines in Canada are a joke. I wish they did better. The last time I flew out of Edmonton, 5 hour delay. The airline gave us 15 bucks for food. It basically covers the cost of one chocolate bar and a soda.... Embarrassing.

I did the Seoul Vancouver Toronto Halifax flight almost every summer when I was teaching in Korea in the early to mid 2000's. I've experienced Air Canada's incompetence many times so I feel your pain. My wife's last trip home to Korea with AC was a complete nightmare; cancellations, rebooked flights with little notice, last second hotel reservations...Like you said, next time, we're using Korean Air! Enjoy the fresh air and slower pace of Nova Scotia, and thanks for the great videos of Korea!

Every traveler has had that messy cancelled flight nightmare at least once every few yrs. I like to think that it’s the Universe’s way of looking out for you from a situation more bothersome or worse, who knows. And nothing worthwhile is every easy. Glad you guys made it safe!

My father and sister was on a trip from HKG to New York. They don't have entertainment service. No monitors to watch film. And they are not used to loading music or movies to their phone, prior to the trip. He said that was the longest trip ever. Felt like forever. Yep, so ordinary now.

Oh yeah... we once missed our connecting flight in Toronto as well because of a delay, huge lines at security and bad signage. Several airport people sent us to wrong directions... 🤪 we did wait 5 hours until late in the evening for waiting lists which did not get confirmed 😭 and had to stay overnight at a Travelodge😩, with no luggage😵‍💫, got vouchers for dinner but everything was closed already 🥳, got up the next day at 4 a.m. 🙄 to catch the new flight to SFO. We were pissed too😡. But... because of all of that jetlag wasn't as bad as usual 👍. I hope you two have a great time with the family in Canada! 🇨🇦🏖🌳🌷🐈

I was on a cruise from NYC last September to St. John (which I LOVED!!!!! ❤❤) but at our second stop Halifax, it was all foggy, rainy and cold so I stayed on board……. But I loved St. John and the New England style architecture!!

Welcome home. We travelled from Halifax to Seoul in April and stayed overnight in Vancouver. Made a huge difference- oh and we flew Korean Air to Seoul - no comparison 😊

So earlier this week most of lower Ontario has been dealing with systems that have been rolling through with potential tornados. On July 13, it was confirmed that Ottawa received 3 tornados while the day before around Barrier had a tornado as well - that's around the timeframe you guys were in Ontario for the layover. So that was why the weather precautions Air Canada was taking. However, the airport mess you guys had to deal with is absolutely disgusting and I hope next time you tell Air Canada that since your flight was cancelled, they need to pay for your hotel stay.

Yes! We totally understand if it’s too dangerous to fly weather-wise, but have people on the ground available to assist travelers in this situation! We likely won’t see that $300 for the airport hotel since it was ‘weather related’…

@2hearts1seoul -sigh- I am sorry that you guys had such a rough trip to come into Canada. Our weather in Ontario has become unpredictable and getting more violent in the last decade so I am luck you guys weren't here during the actual big storm; just left in time. As for Air Canada and the hotel voucher, that's a crock! As a travel agent I can understand both sides but Air Canada needs to step up properly when it comes to cancellations and not just use the weather excuse. The layover idea in YVR is a great idea for jet lag issues. I haven't heard much about Korean Air in regards of bad news so maybe switching airlines is a possibility.

Oh goodness... What an exhausting and stressful experience 😵 For what it's worth, I also had a hellish time trying to get to Newark airport in the US from Malaysia; instead of 2 flights, I ended up taking 3 flights and there was a whole bunch of delays (at the time, United Airlines was going through a whole fiasco due to poor weather and lack of staff) -- by the time I arrived, I'd been running on 2 hours of sleep for over 30 hours. To say I was exhausted, would be an understatement. But I'm so glad that you guys eventually got to Nova Scotia safely, along with your all your luggage, and that you saw Penelope/Pipi!! Looking forward to the rest of your Canadian summertime vlogs 😊

Omg...sorry you had to go through that all. We had a similar issue last year with my 2 years old son, first time traveling (alone) with him.... Stayed 5 hours sitting in the plane without moving when finally they told us to go out because we can't take off now.. Had to stay in a hotel, no stroller (had to hold him the whole time), no diapers, no clothes, no food it was a nightmare! Now just take a good rest and keep the best! ❣️

It never used to be like this. Since the Pandemic Air Travel has been non stop drama. Sure the Pandemic is over and people are still trying to recover from it. But The Transportation Industry should not be this bad. They should have resolved all their Issues by now. They need to come up with a solution because people are on the move now since being unable to fly anywhere. I guess just pack your patience and know that it's bound to get better. I'm so sorry yall had such a terrible time getting to Canada, but glad you finally made it! Kyuho did look like a dino there! lol A Kyuasaurus Rex! NS looks so pretty! We are actually thinking about maybe checking out the Pacific Northwest as somewhere to move. We hate it where we are and the summers have just gotten too brutal. We ended up stopping this last time about half way and getting a room and it made the drive SO much easier, and less recovery time when we got home.

Oh my goodness!!! I was recently on hold for 3 hours and 45 minutes with air canada because their app/homepage portal is absolutely USELESS!!! I needed to cancel a flight because of a medical emergency and was told by their customer service representative "I cannot see what kind of medical issue you have over the phone, so I am unable to refund you for your ticket." I was shocked!!! Sorry about your experience with them... I will only ever fly Korean Air from now on! ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

The last couple of times I flew Air Canada to Stanfield Hfx, with a connecting flight from Pearson, I experienced delays - both to and from Stanfield Airport. The last flight from Hfx to TO there were mechanical problems (boarding was done) so my 5-hr window saved me in the end. Although, once we landed in Toronto a bunch of us rushed to the other gate to catch our connecting flights (I was lucky) while others had to rebook theirs. So, I get why you're very annoyed. (I also try to avoid Air Canada if possible.)

This sounds all too familiar! Did you guys happen to fly at the end of June, on the 25th? We flew out from Halifax that day, and it was barely raining, but our flight was delayed by an hour. A few flights were canceled. We ended up missing our connection in Frankfurt and had the exact same nightmare situation with Eurowings Discover. No one was helpful, we ran around the entire airport (which is one of the biggest in Europe), trying to book a new connection. The woman at the help desk was one of the rudest customer service people we ever met, and gave us false information. She told us the next flight we could get was in EIGHT HOURS. Turned out we were automatically booked on the next flight (also weren't notified) and we ended up missing that as well because we were busy dealing with her. NIGHTMARE. 😂 Glad you guys made it safe! We had a great time. It was my first time back home in Halifax in 7 years. We made some content there are well! Looking forward to all your upcoming NS vlogs. 😊

Each time I fly to Korea, I make sure to never choose Air Canada, I hear too many horror stories from my colleagues, one of them had to travel twice last week, each of his flights was delayed or canceled. They cant handle inside flights, imagine international. My husband who is also Korean, had similar experience than you with Air Canada and Pearson Airport. His comment : Soooooo incompetent !

Trust me, if we could easily avoid them, we would. If we lived in Toronto, we could easily take Korean air, but very few airlines that aren’t Canadian airlines fly to Nova Scotia.

This happened to us when we went on vacation from Australia to Philippines. When arrived in Malaysia from Australia, we checked the flight we booked and it was cancelled. Then when we asked they said we cancelled it when we didn't. And the staff were very rude so we asked another desk. plus before all this they also lost our luggages, we only got them back at night around 5 - 6 pm . PS we arrived at that airport early around 7-8 am. On the good side the airport provided us along with other people accommodation for the night in a hotel with dinner and breakfast and lunch for the next day all paid due to the inconvenience . We didn't pay a single cent. it's just sad as we lost 2 days of vacation when. when we only planned a week to spend on family and fun.

If you do fly through Vancouver, I'm not sure if there's a direct flight from there to Halifax. I've gone to Halifax for work several times from Victoria. Avoid Pearson at all costs. I know Westjet had a flight from Calgary to Halifax. That airport is much less of a clusterf**k than Pearson.

@@2hearts1seoul Well, that's good to know! The flight from Vic to Van is like 15 minutes vs just over an hour to Calgary. Also can take the ferry in a pinch. Also, YVR is very close to Downtown Vancouver by Skytrain, if you plan on doing your layover there.

Sara I've been following you for a long time. I love everything about you. I think I can be your fan haha. I'm from Turkey. After the earthquake in my city, the place where I lived is destroyed and I came to Canada. Same day as you. My flight to Toronto was also cancelled. Maybe we were at Toronto Airport that same day. I can't believe this. I guess also our birthday is the same. It's nice to be close to someone I love about some things.

We had issues coming from Korea back to us - major delays for our layover to catch the next flight to go home- they said weather even though not much rain. We think it was the bad air from the Canadian wildfires.

Sadly the days of air travel being a pleasurable experience are for the most part long gone. Now it can be such an ordeal and when flying within Canada, a ridiculously expensive ordeal.

I've been watching your channel for years and throughout all your trips to Canada, you've mainly spent time in Halifax (for obvious reasons). I'm curious though, is there no interest at all in exploring Toronto together with Kyuho for even just a few days?

Not really 😅 We’ve both been to Toronto before and aren’t big fans tbh. Plus it’s ridiculously expensive. We’d rather travel to a tropical country in Southeast Asia for a fraction of the price 🏝️

Use made it even though it 2 days to get there. Would be stressful, main thing use arrived safely 🙏🏽, had a tear especially when you see family. Enjoy your time back home and hope Beemo and other cat's ok in Korea 🐈🐈‍⬛🥹...

Pearson Airport is the absolute worst in the entire country! Air Canada has been under a lot of scrutiny since Covid, and has been a complete shit show since. I had a delayed flight on my trip to Vancouver last September and filed for compensation on their website and received $700, you should do the same!

Often it isn't the weather, but they don't have the pilot or staff. They have to shuffle staff to do a double. Like every service industry. Never a full staff alotted.
