I'm In! I grew up camping with my family. I earned my Eagle Scout rank in BSA. I continued with my Children, but the last several years I have been living vicariously through you and several other KZbinrs. I let myself get to 340 pounds at 53 years of age. Over the last three weeks, I've dropped 17 pounds and am on my way. I have a backpacking trip planned in October with my son and my sister. My first Grandson turned one year old recently, and I realized that I needed to make a change if I want to take him out camping. Living in Southern California, we do a lot of desert camping, but it's still a blast. I haven't camped in the snow since my Boy Scout days. One of these days, I'll get up to some real woods and snow and do some bushcraft. Goals! I'll work on making them clearer. :-)

I do not understand your reluctance to do the Patreon thing - it gives your biggest supporters an easy way to help support you. I respect your decision on this, it's obviously your channel, your livelihood, your call. But many people REALLY appreciate and enjoy your content and I'm betting a good deal of them would gladly provide some direct financial assistance in order to facilitate more content to come. Seems like a win/win to me.

If you guys want something really different as a canoe camping experience, there's always the Everglades. Fishing for tarpon & snook, camping on chickees or sandbars, fun times. You can even go canoe camping during the winter! And as an ex-Canadian in Wisconsin, there's plenty of canoe tripping to be done seeing as Wisconsin is not "too far South" lulz. But it's mostly protected wild rivers, the St.Croix, Wisconsin River, and if you're feeling sporty white water canoe the Flambeau. The UP of MIchigan has more of your Algonquin feeling woods & lakes & portages.

Hello Joe! About the trip you were planning for next year, as long as you go north of Finland, Sweden or Norway you can't go wrong... I live in Finland and honestly, as much as I'd love to recommend Finland for your trip, Sweden and Norway would be much better for the catch and cook type of trip as in Finland we have so much restrictions to how big of a fish we can take with.. Don't get me wrong, you definately will get to eat the fish in Finland too but if you have a bad day and catch only smaller caliber trouts, you can't take 'em with you and eat in Finland. There are lots of grayling, lake trouts, european whitefish and arctic char in the north no matter what country you choose. Some rivers have salmon also but that might require a bit stiffer rods and lines and might not be so good with the canoes :D Awesome videos man. I really like watching this type of stuff and the banter going on with you 2 is just hilarious. Reminds me of trips with my friends. Keep it going buddy!

First off I love the videos. Keep them coming. Second. I personally would like to see a give away where you have one of us out on a survival video. Teaching one of us to do what you do. I know I would enter in as many time as I can Just for your knowledge

I’m in! Glad to see you’re feeling better and able to get out an about. I understand the stomach stuff! (Had colitis and they did a permanent ileostomy). I’ve been watching for awhile now, and you’ve really motivated me to get out. I’ve always been nervous about how to do camping with an ileostomy. So, thanks for sharing your story!! Love these types of videos; but I also love seeing stuff at your house too!

You guys should totally come to Norway!! Check out Lars Monsen, he backpacked through Canada. There are river systems and rather big lakes here in Norway and lots of Brown trout :) Finland is the land of the lakes thoug. Looks cool there too
