@@ChloeRoseArt beware though! Metal straws are amazing but they make carbonated beverages explode sometimes. I recommend glass, or some reusable plastic or silicone ones I found a fist-full of hard plastic straws at a thrift store, and I got another fistful of bendy silicone ones that I think I use more than my son does lol.

Hey chloe, reducing your own waste is a great start towards helping the planet! However, you should know a vast majority of waste & carbon emissions come from major corporations. If we dont pressure our governments to put laws in place to regulate waste and carbon emissions, we will lose our planet regardless of how many citizens go green on our own.
@MeganMajor.
@MeganMajor. 5 жыл бұрын
unfortunately, this is very true :/ but we can still help cut back on emission fuels by not supporting big corporations, its all about supply and demand. good things to do are support local businesses, buy used clothes and go to farmers markets as much as possible, but like she said doing something is better than doing nothing at all

Sooo there’s this app called “Ecosia”, it’s a browser like google or safari. Please download the app or use it on your computer. For every 45-ish times you search something, a tree is going to be planted. The maker of this app doesn’t receive any money from it and uses it to plant the trees. This may look like a really small thing you can do, but even small bits help! 🌳

I love Wall-E, too! I'm obese (but losing weight--yay!) and the movie seemed to reflect our future. I'm 51 years old. I hear people talking about plastic straws these days, and I'm reminded of the fact that we had paper straws when I was a little girl. You could buy whole boxes of them in mixed colors, and I believe flexible. I don't know if there was anything harmful about them, but they worked. Granted, not as well as plastic straws, but they got us through. I'm sure they'll come up with something sturdier and environmental, but I wanted to share that memory.

I love how you think like that, I have the same thought also, we need to be more sensitive and more open about what is happening to the environment, some people never even care about the Earth and some even don't think Climate Change is happening, it kind of sucks, but I feel like if more people will join on more environmental programmes and stuff, it will be better. And also, you look bootiful Gurl! I love your hair, you're so gorgeous. 💖

I'll have to check out those paint puck things, I've been painting more lately and admittedly wasted a few paper towels trying to clean up excess paint. If you end up getting a metal straw I recommend the ones with a bit of silicone on the end to protect your teeth! They also have special brushes you can get to clean them with (my mom is obsessed with re-usable straws, they also make fully silicone ones but I personally don't like them as much.) Katalina S girl uh... its actually a close prediction NO ONE said it was exactly 12 years, just like how it’s a prediction that plastic bottles take up to 1000 years to degrade, since you know, it’s only been less than a decade since plastic was invented we can’t exactly say when it will but it’s a rough estimate that no one questions. And no it’s not just straws. It’s almost 8 billion people using one use plastic and big ass companies that don’t give a fuck about what their products are doing to their surroundings . Even if this was propaganda, in case you didn’t know not all propaganda is bad🙄😬

Just a couple tips for being enviro friendly! 1) Double check your cities recycle list. Some recyclable items cannot be recycled in some cities due to lack of facilities. Also rubbish in recycle bins 'contaminates' them and makes the whole batch go to the dump instead of the recycle plant. 2) Check to see if your body/face wash has non organic microbeads. Sometimes listed as: polyethylene, polypropylene, polyethylene terephthalate, polymethyl methacrylate, polylactic acid, or nylon 3) A lot of coffee shops are starting to let you bring your own clean cup or mug instead of using their one-time use paper or plastic cups. I always have one ready to go in my bag!

I got makeup brush cleaners (so essentially the same thing as the pucks) and use them, as well as brush cleaner solution from hobbycraft. I’ve saved glue covered and crusty week old brushes with huge success!

People when a solar flare messes up internet: OMG THIS IS SO BAD AND NEEDS TO BE PREVENTED! People when the world is literally about to be ruined beyond repair: Eh it's gonna happen in 12 years we have time it's fine I really don't care. This is a problem. Save the Earth.

Hi Chloe, to help spread the word about how we need to save the world you could do a painting comparing the earth in the past when there was no pollution and everything was fine, the earth now and the earth when it is too late to save this planet. I think doing a piece like that would help people realize how the earth is changing and not for the better, encouraging more people to do their part to help save our earth!

One of the best ways I've found to rinse a watercolor brush is to create a figure 8. (several times of course) It comes out so clean every time without ever touching the bottom or sides of your container.

I’m trying to get into acrylic painting more because I tried it again recently and really loved it. So by getting this rubber thing it would help me properly clean it while changing colours and make the painting process more relaxing than it already is.

Also, so you know, single-use plastic straws are necessary for disabled folks to live. Like, it's the reason they were popularised and mass produced in the first place, and the reason we have bendy straws. Instead of worrying about straws, how about everything being wrapped in cellophane, or single-use utensils, or plastic-coated single-use plates? (I know you're not telling us not to use straws, but I still think it's important to know. I use silicone straws, but I can't wash them so I have to rely on my parents to wash them for me. I'll also send you a tweet with graphics on why straw alternatives aren't an option for many disabled folks)

There's seaweed straws that has been made to replace what the disabled are using now. It works just like the plastic ones but you can eat it or throw in a decomposing box.

Wow, I never thought about that. But I don't understand why there is a choking hazard on the paper ones and not on the plastic ones. I agree with you, that maybe a reducing strategy instead of complete ban could be a good solution. I use metal straws and love them :)

@@chibisherry16 it disintegrates in the liquid, especially with hot liquids, plus it's a big allergy risk, esp with whatever it is that keeps it in shape for a while. Also a choking hazard

@@confusedcustomer7960 a metal one would chip my teeth and stab me lol. I use silicone straws, but I can't wash them. Which I may have said in my original comment. Anyway, it's a choking hazard because they come apart unexpectedly, and sudden solid in mouth could easily mean choking for many people. I in fact choked in that exact way, and I don't have problems breathing/swallowing like a lot of other folks who need straws have

@@HmmmmmLemmeThinkNo thank you for explaning, I never used paper ones so I don't know how they work, sounds not really useful if they fall apart. But also makes sense

Some easy ways to help the planet include metal/silicone straws, bringing your own containers (tupperware) to use as to-go boxes as restaurants, buying reusable grocery bags, buying as many things without packaging as you can (use your own for deli meat, buy produce from farmer's markets or as individuals), switch to a diva cup (these are disposed of way less frequently than pads/tampons), reusable water bottles and cups for places like Starbucks. There are a lot of awesome influencers that talk about their switch to being ecofriendly that would be super easy to promote to help your viewers learn how to help the earth
