They make bear boxes for your cameras. They are steel and lag bolt to the tree, camera goes inside and the door locks. They work well as bears won’t chew or bother steel much. We have to use them here in the east or your cameras won’t last all night, also prevents most camera theft

Just imagine the conversation among the bears. There's that one "conspiracy theorist who is sure those humans are watching us." And all the other bears laugh at how ridiculous he is being....but he just knows they're watching.

Of all the trees in the forest they go for the ones with the cameras, when you replace the water pipe michael you should put all the old piping up on one big heap, that should keep them content 😂😂, really enjoy your videos michael, thank you. 👍

You have a lot of good trail camera videos! I was thinking about a video you put out recently. The one about the pot growers. I found it odd that you didn’t see any sign of them cleaning up their mess during your video. Those signs should be obvious. Even after one week. Also on a different video you showed the adjustment legs on your mill. It seemed it was standing pretty high. Of course, a lower center of gravity would stabilize it some. Also during some of your videos it seems like you think or know that the newest layer of wood on a tree is the outer layer just under the bark. For some reason, I always thought it was the center of the tree that was new. Of course this is East Coast thinking. I don’t claim to know anything! I do watch your videos though and appreciate your knowledge and craftsmanship. I appreciate you sharing.

The bears are doing what nature is directing them to do electro magnetically in order to keep a balance between the pathway and sugars of the trees to the fish to the microscopic organisms to the bees and ultimately to the survival of you and me. So if you let bears be bears then everything else will be harmonious because bears are a keystone species.

I think that the bears are like "politicians".That do what you don't want them to do and don't do what you want them to do. I think maybe they might be working for the government. They just like to mess things up that they had no business messing with in the first place. They are strange acting creatures. They do like sweets though. This first hand I know. I had one that picked up my trail on a hicking and camping trip, and followed me until he had gotten almost too close for comfort. I figured out real quickly what he was after, threw down the candy and ran. I left the bear behind me on the trail. He ate all of that candy. I no longer take sweets around bears.

Bears wallow day in and day out regardless of temperature. If your bear spot were a wallow, the bears would still be wallowing in it. And you would be seeing muddy bears. My guess is they were foraging for something when they dug up this area, perhaps for ants or grubs, but the action was over before you got your cameras up.

Thanks, Michael. I begin to wonder if the cameras make a sound imperceptible to human ears, but not bears; it isn't out of the realm of possibility that they are easily spotted and become the fancy of wildlife, but the levels of interaction seem to encroach the personal level. Maybe it really is as simple as many philosophers have said; everything is bored, and life itself exists to sate said boredom.

At what point did you not realise to bury the plastic pipe where bears hang out?? There's a compound in the PVC hardening process that smells the same as an ant nest. Bears smell pvc from miles and exploring with their mouth. This is why they chew up fridge freezers, pvc and softer pvc. They go in that mud wollow to kill ticks, the tick cannot breath went some types of mud stick to them as they beath out their bottoms. Ticks are removed fully when they retract to breath.

With all the time and money you've put in replacing it over and over and over and over and over again, you could've just rented a trencher and put it underground. Second, why not just get some of those trail camera bear boxes so the bears can't really damage your cameras?
