Honesty considering locality , price and discomfort you experienced there , i wouldn't have given more 100 rupees for haircut even as indian.......this video speaks sheer discomfort you gone through while getting cut your short.... but i think the salon was overwhelmed and being you as foreigner was not able to express how you actually want haircut, you didn't expressed much of feelings so that you hurt.......overall the family that hosted both of you as guest really sweet. Yes, haircut in India involves too much water, but this was way more chattines than normal, & you can surely get a really good & more professional haircut for 400-500 Rs in the city
