I'm surprised nobody talks about this more, but the gazing eyes in they keyblades are most likely from the original 7 lights, which is why there are only 7 of those keyblades. The Master of Masters hates the darkness because it took all his friends and when he tells Xehanort his name, light just flashes. MoM is the last remaining original light, and the other keyblades are his friends keyblades.

The Dark eye is likely a culmination of dark energies as the orbs that the Darksides feed into it are normally used by themselves as that falling orb attack, the dark eye is also similar in coloration to the dark orb that Sora destroyed in the Keyblade graveyard in KH3

i do think the only confirmation you can say with confidence in this is that yellow eyes arent about being norted but being aligned with darkness, since this eye is kinda yellow. i think most have come to that conclusion already but this is more fuel to the tank ya know?

The Heartless already having yellow eyes pointed in that direction, but this... thing... definitely supports it. Xehanort didn't have yellow eyes (or pointy ears) originally, either-he only gained them once he had exposed himself deeply to darkness. Thus, the yellow eyes people got from getting Norted was just Xehanort passing that same darkness down to them.

This is kinda a head cannon of mind, but I wonder now if the reason the Relm of Darkness has ice/crystal themes is something along the lines of darkness trying to preserve life? I know that's weird and probably doesn't make a lot of sense because from what we know of the Relm of Darkness and the Heartless both Pure and Emblem. They're all hellbent on destruction and are always willing to fight. But what if that's not the full truth? I mean even the scientist(s) in the world of KH were studying about the Heart and the Darkness. They even went as far as having implied Heartless to study on and may I remind you that Ansem the Wise made the emblem Heartless. I do believe you can find this info through the Ansem reports throughout all the games. They, for the most part, talks about their studies, discoveries, and theories about the subject matter. Give or take... Probably wondering, 'ok, but how would the Heartless be preserving life?' For that I don't truly know but I do find it weird how... "easy" it is to "leave" both people or places out of the darkness and they just go back normal, no ice, no signs of destruction. People that live on their Worlds don't seem to know or realize they fell to darkness, they just continue living. Both KH:bbs 0.2 and KH:ddd seem to implied this as well. Heck, even Sora, Terra, and Xehanort came back from a Heartless state... give or take. I'm just saying Darkness doesn't come across as a death sentence. Yet the Master of Masters states he's terrified of it and needs his coat to protect him... why? Xehanort is fine, Riku is fine, Terra is fine, Aqua is fine now. SORA was fine. Also Master of Masters seems way to trigger happy to cause destruction and problems to stop the darkness saying it's the only way to stop it. Yet... Sora was able to save all worlds from the darkness and he doesn't always know the full picture when it comes to state of events. But we the audience and characters are supposed to believe or be convinced that the Master of Masters does? I personally don't buy it; there's just... something that doesn't add up with the dude. Another thing would be the meaning of the word Presuve: • maintain (something) in its original or existing state. • retain (a condition or state of affairs). • maintain or keep alive (a memory or quality). Im just saying i can see Namura pulling this insanity off as a plottwist for... something. Also this does seem like it fit themes from the games, like Memories for example. Again. Ansem: Seeker of Darkness said this once: (sadly I don't remember word for word but something like...) "Sleep holds our dreams, dreams holds our memories, and darkness holds our sleep." I can go on forever with this head cannon of my mine. What do you guys think? Would like to know if I'm too far out there or if there's a possibility to this.

In FF-13/ the final fantasy games that exist in that lore, crystal stasis occurs once a person has completed their focus - a god/deity given task you must complete to gain eternal life (turn to crystal/crystal stasis), or get turned into a warped monster if you fail. It’s interesting how the crystals are in the dark world, maybe representing that whoever guided the world to its destination probably didn’t have good intentions/was using it as collateral damage (similar to how easily discarded the god-like beings in the FF-13 lore universe kinda saw humans). I guess that’s the point I’m trying to make.

@@Vigriff That's an abberation. Ansem collected the hearts of the worlds and brought them together to form an artificial Kingdom Hearts. That's outside of the normal process of things. The world's "bodies" went to the realm of darkness with the hearts he gathered instead of fallinf asleep. After Sora restored the worlds, the "bodies" were released, ending up in the realm of sleep, where destiny islands was for like 5 minutes.

That's a really cool video, a lot of interesting finds and discoveries! I will add a couple more details I discovered myself when working on porting those maps to KHIII: -The houses you see in the distance when in the first map actually have solid roofs, you can stand there if you somehow manage to get to them - There is actually a bit more geometry in the castle courtyard, complete with the empty water basin, but it's slightly hidden under the big island's mesh. -In the mirror level (the world within it's called in game) the whole map is actually the hub itself, four different, almost identical boxes placed next to each other not far from the main platform (the various arenas such as the one with the chests, as well as the mirrored hub that you teleport to once you clear the zodiac puzzle. Thing is that the different "chunks" of the level are loaded or unloaded depending on where you are, but the dynamic assets are always loaded in. -The hall of pillars is also an interesting area, as the "reversed" version is actually standing next to the regular one, but everything is turned upside down The depths of darkness (the last area before Destiny islands) was taken verbatim, had abour 80% of the map's lightning removed and a purple rock has been added to the entrance of the lower part, for the cutscene where Mickey and Riku are going through the Dark world after Twilight Town. -There is actually a small semblance of a tunnel in Homecoming (the broken Destiny Islands) that leads to a small cave. Everything is rough, but you do get enough that you recognize the area from KH1 (where the door is) There might still be more to discover, but I have yet to port more, you actually knew a lot more abour the forest than I do! Once again, loved the video, keep up the good work :D

So I got a random thought while watching this. What if Yozora is Sora's Unself. Let me explain (and someone may have already though this.) We have heartless, nobodies, and the unversed. What if in the new "unreality" everyone has a version of themselves. Just like how someone with a heartless also has a nobody. Perhaps someone from "reality" has an unreality" version. 🤔

Not everyone who becomes a Heartless has a Nobody-they are stated in lore to be rather rare and fleeting creatures, as they only spawn from people with particularly strong wills (and only the utmost of these managed to retain their sense of self and thus their human forms on top of that, hence the members of the Orgainzation). But, I do feel like you're onto something with this "unreality" suggestion. Yozora definitely has a lot of little hints that suggest he is closely tied to Sora in some way, yet is seemingly a totally unrelated character at the same time. Though, at the same time, it's said that he resembles Riku... and yet, he also states that the appearance we see isn't what he really looks like... Perhaps not _everyone_ has a counterpart in Unreality, but if at least some characters do that could potentially be an avenue to explain the significance of as-yet unexplained characters like Demyx and Luxord. It's fun to speculate at this point in the series...

Ive had a bit of a theory floating around in my head for a while now. There's plenty of symbolism representing duality within the series. With something as powerful as Kingdom Hearts itself - a big ol glowing heart shaped moon, there may be its opposite, The Black Sun (maybe a different name if it ever comes to fruition) Reaching into some Gnosticism and hermeticism, amongst some other sources, under the realm is a giant black sun of sorts where cosmic rays originate from, and from those rays, create the sun and the moon itself. In this line of thought, the moon at the very least is considered to be Xray, not sure about the sun. This would make the sun and moon both non physical objects. "Projections" if you will. And IMO, Darkside it often seen worshipping the black sun. The Giant orbs of destruction or w/e they are called. He summons it like every time you fight him. Take a sheet of paper and lay it flat. Every thing we have witnessed has taken place above the sheet, or on the top facing part of the page. Quadratum, the black sun, Yozora, Unreality, Even M.o.M. may be from the bottom side of the "paper" But instead of a piece of paper, its a torus field. Even in UX or whichever one it was, where Brain is explaining the worlds. IIRC he mentions that all the worlds are being projected from the BoP. And thats why we can fly with our gummi ship from world to world. And so all of this is the "upper" part of the whole projection. Where as the underside has had a story building this whole time too.

I really hope it comes back in KH4, but this time they all attack Sora. It'd likely have to be full of reaction commands and scripted segments, but it'd probably look and feel amazing.

I am 99% sure that Quadratum and the other worlds on that side of reality are a sort of reverse reality existing in the same space at a different frequency. Ergo it is the realm of darkness, but also not. The biggest thing that makes me think this is the track playing in the KH4 trailer. "Reality in the Dark". Dark or Darkness in the titles of music tracks for Kingdom Hearts typically relate to KH's idea of Darkness. Plus I believe either narration or Yen Sid at some point in one of the games, maybe it was Xehanort, said the original Darkness, Night, wasn't destructive. And was the only Darkness. Another reason why I think this could hold true is how one travels between the realms of light and dark. It has only been shown to be possible in one of two ways. One, a door spawned from a massive concentration of presumably pure Darkness like a black hole, made by Ansem SOD in KH1. And two, portals. Though one could argue it seems like the heart of a world could be a method, like what Sora seemed to do in Destiny Islands. Basically what I mean is, you can't just fly over there. Seemingly you could go to the farthest reaches of space in a Gummi Ship and never travel from one realm to another. Like they exist next to each other not in a literal physical sense, but existing almost in the same space. Or just alternate dimensions that happen to be connected. And we know what Ansem the not so Wise dubbed this new reality "Unreality" unceremoniously. But we know it's connected in some way by the mere fact Sora winds up there. Helps that Riku gets a method of traveling to there via a Heart of an unknown woman that knows Yozora. All this and yet, it's possible this alternate reality has very different concepts than Light and Darkness as we know it. But the track being called "Reality in the Dark" really makes me think I'm right. And that this is an alternate reality relating closer to what we know as the Realm of Darkness than what we know as The Realm of Light.

7:00 I use Unreal Engine a fair amount, and have done for many years -- but I'm not an effects artist, so I'm not sure why the skybox changes colours when you enter the orb 🤔 My guess is that the orb and the sky are sub-materials of the same "base material", and that base material has instructions for colour hue shifts. (A hue shift node on the Blueprint graph, perhaps) But in the release game, when using a mod to get the camera inside the orb with its red-orange colour effects, the engine gets confused for a second and starts briefly affecting the hue shift of the sky, since theoretically the orb and sky share the same base material. This is only a guess, though; I may be completely wrong 😅 I've never seen an oddity like that before

The balls are related. If you look closer to the ones spawned out side of sea of darkness, they are enveloped by darkness. These are also somewhat enveloped by the same darkness, but are not used as such. The one is 0.2 is used in another function. As it isn’t being used as a gate.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think it's possible and doesn't make sense for many, many reasons. I think it's a cool idea, but Sora has parents/a mom that we've seen before the events of Kh1. MoM claims he was born before/during the first keyblade war, thousands of years in the past. Also, it doesn't fit any theme that the story's presented so far; Nomura loves Sora and often refers to him as his "good boy" as he sees him like a son. Like I said, cool idea and all, but it'd be so cheap and wouldn't make much sense. I believe the MoM will be an entirely new character who is connected to Sora and his prophecy of the child of fate. MoM will be one of the most monumental characters in Kh lore as he gets explored more

A design used amulets and necklaces to ward off the “evil eye curse” which is just an old superstition from the Paleolithic age that people believed that someone’s malicious gaze and or envious gaze could harm or give misfortune. Literally look up evil eye 🧿 shit there’s even an emoji for it the design spot on 😂. Also ansem kh3 data battle he uses an attack in his dm with the same look.

Going to take a little dip into established Kingdom Hearts lore here and add my own take on it. I believe that these energy balls are the hearts of worlds. The core principle of Kingdom Hearts universe as established in the interviews is that all life has a heart. The plants, the animals, the trees, the worlds and even all existence (Kingdom hearts being the heart of all worlds/existence). When Apprentice Xehanort/Ansem first reports his discovery of the door/keyhole to the heart of the world (being Radiant Garden at the time), he describes it as a massive core of energy or something along these lines. When he realizes that peoples hearts (energy cores) can be corrupted/consumed by darkness, he also realizes that the same can happen to worlds hearts. Opening the door to a worlds heart will expose the heart to darkness, thus plunging the world into the realm of darkness. We see this as immediately after Destiny Islands door is opened, it causes the energy core of the world to become exposes and as you can see, it is being consumed by darkness. Soon after this light goes out, the Destiny Islands are frozen in time within the Realm of Darkness (the timeless realm). Xehanort uses his keyblade to shroud the Land of Departures heart in darkness too an attempt to destroy the land, however Aqua is able to use the trick to protect the worlds heart/keyhole so that it doesn't fall into complete darkness (thus landing its position in the Realm Between Light and Darkness as Castle Oblivion). From the incredible and excellent footage discovered/created by TheGamersJoint and the initial discover mentioned in his video. I assume that this orb is a corrupted heart. In order to awaken its power to draw upon the power of darkness for the fight, the Darksides were offering collected hearts (similar to how Organisation 13 offers hearts to their own proxy of Kingdom Hearts in KH2) to awaken the heart and draw upon its incredible darkness to enhance themselves (a heart being essentially the soul of a world would resemble a giant eye awakening (yes i know that a soul is lifeforce in KH, I mean a soul in traditional sentience meaning sentience etc). I also assume that the 13 points reflect the nature of darkness, being that its natural number is 13 just as light is 7. Whether this is some kind of eternal equation or was determined from the shattering of the X-Blade is speculation as this stage and kind of immaterial however a very interesting philosophical discussion. All of this makes sense in the cosmology of Kingdom Hearts. When a person dies/heart is consumed, it returns to its worlds heart with all hearts returning to Kingdom Hearts. However with the shattering of the X-Blade, Kingdom Hearts itself became corrupted/concealed by darkness and thus hearts that fall into darkness become trapped here instead of reuniting within Kingdom Hearts light core. Thus it kind of works in layers. A heartless can consume hearts. These hearts are fed to the super heatless of a worlds heart (the giant eyeballs), these in turn form the realm of darkness which is the darkness of Kingdom Hearts itself. This has always been my understanding of how the cosmology works in Kingdom Hearts based on the Ansem Reports/Interviews. Its always amazing to see how the written lore of the game is eventually incorporated into the visual gameplay of later games and the world building. I think my take is consistent with the existing lore and I hope that I have at least provided an entertaining essay. Always love these games and how much it "opens the door" to epic discussions and philosophy beyond the scope of the game. I think this is why we all love Kingdom Hearts so much. It connects our hearts.

what if the eye is a physical manifestation of the first darkness that we haven't been introduced to yet. i have a little theory that there is a first darkness(likely found in the deep abyss) and a first light (the light that is within kingdom hearts) that existed first before anything else and that they were formed from something else entirely...a deity we don't know about yet perhaps?

I believe the Heartless are able to combine their powers and/or even their essence to create a much more powerful being. All the Heartless cares about is consumption, and if that means giving up what little sense of selves they have left to achieve their goals, then that is what they will do. One interesting thing to note is that only Pureblooded Heartless are willing to do this, not the Emblem Heartless as we see in KH3 when some of the Air Soldiers actually tries to escape the Demon Tides before being sucked into their vortex.

Idk, with Kingdom Hearts, Nomura goes through such lengths to make even the less meaningful things meaningful. 😂 That crystallization is probably connected with the worlds. Part of me kinda wonders if maybe these worlds and people are merely manifestations of crystal in Unreality. And Unreality will just be a final fantasy game. 😂 I mean we've seen it's entirely possible to manifest objects, especially in the crystal chronicles series. So I wouldn't be too surprised if the Kingdom Hearts series is literally just a crystal manifestation.
