Flashover from gas leak, combustion and no deflagration. A Minor refrigerant leak in the fridge caused a Venturi effect melting the butter. If he was using an oxygen mask pushed aside while lighting a cigarette. You have the perfect coincidence.

BTW, people can get seriously ill by respiratory infections within even just 1 hour. I know because it happened to me. I had bronchitis, as usual - I contracted it every time my friends passed around the flu - I was going to the health center that day after my classes to get my antibiotics after the usual x-ray confirm the bronchitis. However, as I ate my lunch at the cafeteria that hour, I went from mild bronchitis to severe bronchial pneumonia. Yes, my friends thought I was faking it. The doctor at the health center I went to immediately said that if I hadn't gotten to the health center when I did, I'd be in an ambulance to the local hospital. I had prednisone and antibiotics and spent 3 weeks in my dorm having to sit up the whole time because laying down would drown me. Never ignore moderate breathing problems or quick regressions of lung capabilities. You can die even of severe bronchial pneumonia if you wait too long to get to the doctor.

My mom is a retired nurse. many years ago she had an elderly woman patient who was on oxygen all the time. The patient was still a smoker. She would obviously take off the oxygen hose when she would smoke.... Until one day the patient forgot to take it off. She went to fire up a ciggie and when she did..... she scorched her entire airway😭 Doctors did everything they could but with those injuries there wasn't much they could go. She died shortly afterwards

My brother had cancer was on oxygen and smoked 1 day he lit up I saw fire go up his nose I pinched hose real quick he dug melted plastic out of his nose 4 couple weeks
