We get ground chuck for $3.99 on sale usually the second week of the month (at our local grocery store). Then, when they have beef bottom round at $3.99 about once every four months, we get several packages. Cut them into steaks or small roast and vacuum seal them. Pork chops on sale are usually $1.99 about once a month and we grab those and vacuum seal them. Chicken we get at $1.99. We split packages into smaller ones and vacuum seal those. We date each package in upper right corner and vertically store them in the freezer. Over time, this saves a lot. Hope this helps someone. We won't pay more than those prices. When the good deals come around, we snag them. We use baskets for each kind of meat in the freezer. When the basket is full we don't buy any of that kind of meat.

I do know apricots for us this year will come from the store as trees in the area lost their blossoms after multiple late deep freezes. Chop kits here are over $6 at Albertsons. The prices of EVERYTHING have gone up here in Boise. From unaffordable rents, homes for purchase, utilities.... my parents bought their house in 2013 for $289,000 it is now valued at over $800,000. Unfortunately they refinanced to pay off credit cards and are mortgaged at $599,000 at 3.99% and with interest rates now they can't do a damn thing. Happy to watch and wish for Aldi!

With the regional transportation, decreased sales in storm areas, and other more localized suppy and demand issues, do keep your eyes open for potential unadveetized sales and mark downs. It often takes 1 to 4 weeks to get supply redistributed and re-routed. Once rerouted and semi-stabalized, we can probably expect some increased prices to cover the costs and also the lost revenue.

Sign up for Planet Fitness now before they decide to triple the price. "But Planet Fitness executives said consumers have grown accustomed to price hikes and the move will not hurt business."
