1 - no idea. It seems pointless if I know it is all futile. 2 - spend my days in selfish hedonism and aesthetic pleasure 3 - dont know - I dont care about approval, but I dont have the means to live inpleasure so its moot 4 - maybe do more of 2 without worrying Id hurt them, but nothing much really because I dont have much to do 5 - dunno. Nothing seems to matter.

Came to KZbin for a pick-me-up and found this video. The message of not trying to accomplish something but instead trying to become it hit home. Decades ago, my goal was to move to Japan so I spent day after day immersing myself in everything Japanese I could possibly come across. I eventually moved there and did pretty much did everything but give up my American citizenship. I ended up moving back to America 15 years later but I was able to leave a lasting impact on everybody I met there and that if anything should be the goal one should want to achieve when “becoming” something.

Normally, the word "purpose" would be used to describe the intent of the creator. One person I know took an old canoe and turned it into a flower pot but if asked the purpose of a canoe, the answer would still be as a type of boat. Purpose always requires an intelligent design. But when talking about one's purpose in life, that concept is sometimes abandoned. So you need to define what you mean by purpose in life.

Two years ago, Julians content was just too woo woo for me, now it makes complete sense, even his dressing style seems normal to me, whereas two years back, I was irritated by his fashion (despite having moved to a more conservative region in this time)- goes to show how we humans evolve in perspective, are able to change so rapidly, and are more in our head and less with reality than we like to admit.

I disagree that someone is an idiot if finding out that they have cancer and are going to die changes how they live. I think there is something to be said for short term vs long term. If my purpose and passion is leading me to a three year masters program, and then I find out I have cancer and will die in two months, I’m gonna burn different/faster and pivot plans.
