"Strange Things" | QSMP Philza Animatic

Don’t underestimate the struggle of being an early birb and trying to keep up with lore to animate. This was my first ever animation and I think it shows as I can see how I’ve improved from the start of the animation until the end (no I did not storyboard it before hand I yolo’d it). Been wanting to do an animation for years but school was too time consuming. Hope you enjoyed! I'll try to post more in the near future. Unless it takes another 5 months….

I've always had the head cannon that Philza dreams of his hardcore world It's the way his brain try to deals with him not being able to fly (Clearly very mentally distressing on him, He tried to jump off the wall! 😅) And that every morning before the eggs wake He crys just a little harder each day as the sky calls for him but he cannot answer😔

@@AnimateurDraws Never say never Philzas wings have been hurt before Snipped and broken again and again With patience and help from the crows and family members I could see him getting to the point where he can at least glide or at least have them not hurt anymore 🥺

Actually Phil has made that cannon. He’s left pieces of clues and confirmed it (I think when he was talking to the crows in a discover…). In fact that’s what his return after being trapped in the bird cage is about. He was ‘dreaming’ during his time in the cage. I know this cause I have rewatched (or listened) his QSMP playlist several times.

This is so cinematic?? Like, this kind of pacing, soundtrack, and shots are things I would expect to find in an Emmy-award winning film, not a QSMP animatic for Philza Minecraft. I've always followed Phil's lore rather loosely, looking in from afar, but this is genuinely so incredible. His fans have consistently created some of the most jaw-dropping, astounding works of creative expression I have ever seen, and I think that this is a perfect example of that phenomenon. Every single second of this animatic is taken up by a piece of lore accompanied by art that never fails to hit even me, a very casual viewer of Phil's stream square in the gut. I could rave and rant for hours about how good this is (I mean, the stream audios sprinkled throughout? The fact that this entire thing is completely colored in? You're a true madlad for that fact, I cannot even begin to fathom how long either of those things must have taken on their own, let alone both together), and this animatic definitely deserves an essay length comment stretching on for seven straight Google Docs pages, but I'll cap it off here. This is truly something beautiful, and even if some aspects might not have had as great of an emotional impact on me, I can respect the time, effort, and heart you so clearly poured into each and every single frame of this animation. This takes my breath away, and there's nothing more for me to add. Truly incredible.

This is STUNNING! I love your choice of "The Hanging Tree" for the song, since the districts rebelling against the tyrannical Capitol matches PERFECTLY with the narrative of the islanders against the Federation (and Philu against his Enderking). It's a song about a reckoning. And you animate SO well! I could really feel the gravity and momentum of Phil's flight. And I got chills hearing Cucurucho ask Phil to "enjoy the island" as if Purgatory was what they meant. This was so climactic and cinematic, I really loved it!

I used a mixture of procreate, procreate dreams and imovie :) and i've been wanting to try animation for years but never had the time because of school, so as soon as i got out of school i started animating something i loved at the time which was the qsmp lore i guess! I genuinely found this so fun to do though so about a month ago i started animation in university :D
