This is big. Teach Dem, you did it again. Stranger Cole is one of the few artists still around who were active during the early stages of Jamaican music, Ska, Rocksteady, and Reggae. Please ask Stranger which artist/musician played a big role in influencing the change from Ska to Rocksteady to Reggae. Keep up the good work, Teach Dem.

I worked with Stranger for a short while in the early 70s at a factory just outside of Toronto. The memories of his jokes on our breaks will forever stay with me. Factory work wasn't Stranger thing so he didn't stay long. Music was always in his blood. Big respect bredda Stranger 🙏🙏

Teach Dem, brings tears to my eyes watching you interview all the legends, knowing you actually care with the research you do before interviewing the greats. Stranger Cole is from my late fathers era when he had his sound system here in the U.K. These interviews are time capsules for future generations to look back on & see where our beloved music started & how it’s evolved over the years. Truly I give thanks for the work you put in & the platform you give to our legends. In my humble opinion Jamaica needs to give you an award for your work because when we are no longer here physically these interviews will be so important for generations to come. Bless you for the works you do. Another brilliant interview with the great Stranger Cole.

It's so good to see Stranger Cole with all faculties intact and still coherently sharp, he really is a lucky man, one of the few real living musical legends left in Jamaica....Teach Dem you are doing outstanding work documenting the story of all these Jamaican legends that we would otherwise know very little about. Hope you also get recognised for your great works in due time 👍🏾

I just got around to listening to this very important interview with the great foundation artiste, Stranger Cole aka Stranjah Cole, and it was way more than I expected. So much information. For about 7 years or so now, I have had a tradition of dedicating the first 3 months of each year to listening to foundation music from Jamaica's pioneers (as my tribute to them), while jogging in the mornings. Ska in January, Rocksteady in February and 70s/80s Reggae in March. I will be adding Mento as soon as I finally get them organized. I have even ranked the songs on each of the playlists in the order of which is my favourite, and it's interesting that the song that is firmly at #1 on my Ska playlist is When I Call Your Name - Stranger Cole & Patsy Todd. This interview is full of gems, including the interesting story about (Woman No Want) Bangarang. It was quite refreshing to hear stories and information about Ska/Rocksteady songs that I have enjoyed over the years.
