@@bencotton9414What? I’ve never heard anyone (except Ash) say S3 was the worst. Generally, I actually get the opposite reaction. Season 1 - Just a brilliant introduction to the story and characters. It’s perfect pacing and writing. Season 2 - Although considered the “weakest”, this too was excellent. The addition of Max and Murray was genius. Season 3 - Definitely the biggest in scale and ambition, but also identity. This season had such style and color, and the addition of Robin was perfect. The performances were also the best they’ve been up to that point. Season 4 - Being 100% genuine and literal, this is the best season of ANY show I have ever watched. It really is that good.

@@Saphthings I'm not excusing his bad behavior in the past and I'm not a fan of his. In that moment there was still enough humanity left in him to save the group and save his sister. I feel like El helping Billy connect to that happy time with his mother, allowed him to connect to his true self. His true self was the happy and loving little boy who tried his best to protect his mother from the monster that was his abusive father. But he couldn’t protect her or himself because he was too young, small and not strong enough. It was that same loving little boy within that came out to protect El in those last moments. This time he was strong enough to save El and to save himself from the weight of his past failures (i.e. not being strong enough to defeat the monster in his dad, nor the one inside himself).

Billy's story is such a tragedy... Just one bad situation after another, pushed around by an angry controlling monster who hurt the people around him, and punished him for having autonomy and for protecting them... First his dad with his mom, then his dad with his step sister (I fully believe that's why he seemed controlling and racist bc the dad was trying to control Max and punishing Billy for her behavior) and maybe the step mom too, and then with the monster and Karen + the lifeguard + the whole town, and finally with the monster and El. The parallel imagery of him protecting his mom from his dad and protecting El from the monster is so poignant.

15:25 - "Griswald family." - That's a reference to National Lampoon's Vacation, where Chevy Chase takes his family on a cross-country trip in a station wagon, and suffers a never-ending string of disasters and misadventures. 16:58 - "What gap? What f***ing gap?" - Gap is a clothing store that was quite popular in the 80s and 90s. Some of their classic TV commercials used to end with the musical jingle "Fall into the Gap."

And with you buying a boat, you need to watch Peaky Blinders! They have canal boats in the show! And watch it with Ash! It's right up yours and Ash's street! ❤❤❤

Hannah fundamentally misunderstanding what was going on in the room with Hopper because she was so distressed about Billy was so sweet. I admit I also was more moved by the loss of Billy than of Hopper at the end, because ultimately Hopper signed up save the world but Billy was mistreated by the people who should have protected him.

Seeing you emotional like this makes it hurt much harder than when I originally watched, and I was emotional then! 😭 I love your reactions. I’m sorry for the heartbreak.

Oh on the last episode I believe Lucas found some fireworks in a supply store or something? He was telling Max that it was made of gunpowder and took them along even though the others were skeptical.

Sending huge hugs Hannah .. often the only way is just to cry it all out! I'm so happy to hear it sounds like your boat is getting sorted. Do you have videos documenting it on your patreon? I also follow you on insta and haven't seen anything there xxx
