I like how each season Hawkins has a completely different aesthetic. Season 1: Winter, Cooler Tones, Brittle, Cold Season 2: Fall, Halloween, Warmer Tones, Spooky Season 3: Summer, 4th of July, Retro, Bright more colorful color palette, and much a more fun aesthetic then the other seasons, more of a summer horror theme. Season 4: Spring, Dark tones, red tones, more horror then the other scenes, and nightmare on elm street vibes.

I had been hearing about this show for YEARS, so I finally decided to start watching Stranger Things this month when I heard about the release of Season 4 Volume 1. And WOW, was I blown away by this show with every single aspect of it! It's definitely my favorite television series I've ever seen on Netflix and I'm super excited for Volume 2 to come out!

I just love how the further you go into the story, the more is revealed and how there are more branches of info. In the first season, it was just a simple monster from another dimension kidnapping people and escaping through portals to hive minds connecting to all of the entities. Once the final season is over, it’s like we can piece all of the info back to season one and watch as the characters do too.

i can not tell you the weird warm nostalgia comfort feelings that the video store brings out, growing up through the 80s i spent hours and hours in video rental stores looking through all the strange titles and little obscure B films. and the magic isnt so much in chain stores like BlockBuster but in just little local ma and pa videos stores. we had one named Kaleidoscope video that was soo cool, well into the late 90s when it finally went out of business you could still go there and find every little odd out of print video they had ever had since the early 80s. it was just full of little treasures you could not find anywhere else. they still had a whole BETA section when they closed. i bought a BUNCH of videos from them when they were going out of business, i still miss walking around that place great memories.

2:06 makes me want to talk about this theory I know of So we see in episode 8 of volume one that the upside downs time is frozen from when there was human connection with the upside down(I’m talking about will). So when will was taken to the upside down all the way back in season one it “stoped time” in the upside down. But did it really? My answer to that question is no. Which is why I think the clock is so important this season because it gives vecna the ability to control time. The reason I say that time is not frozen in the upside down is because remember all the way back in season one with Joyce’s alphabet? If time was frozen how was will able to see it?? Another time is season two at the snowball dance when it flipped upside down you can see the exact cars that were there in the actual world in the upside down. Another time is barb. When vecna takes Nancy to Steve’s swimming pool to show her barb how was barb there if she hasn’t been abducted yet?(in upside down time). Another time is when Joyce and hopper and in the upside down to save will and they are at the Byers house why were the lights still hung up if they are a couple of days in the past. This could all just be a writing mistake or a genius plot twist but whatever it is makes me very ready for volume two I’ve rewatched the trailer many times in slow mo and normally trying to find clues to potentially answer all that I just typed out. But I already know that volume two is going to be very crazy and Gorey and there will probably be many deaths and secrets revealed which keeps me ready stay safe to the very few people who read this.🙂

i don’t think time is frozen there in the sense that time doesn’t pass - things still happen that reflect what’s happening in the world above (joyce’s lights, the lights moving in vecna’s home) but those things just reflect that there is activity of some sort in the same physical spot on the opposite side. what i think they mean by time being frozen is that all of the physical things in the upside down were created at the exact point that will entered, and the upside down doesn’t have any inhabitants so everything that was created at that moment will remain the same for eternity because there’s nobody there to change it. i agree about your point with the cars at the snowball dance though, or the lights being hung up in the upside down - that’s probably a writing mistake, or something they added just for the cinematic symmetry before they really decided on the “rules” of the upside down
