People keep forgetting (or never realized) that when Vecna is torturing Max or fighting Eleven, that is ALL taking place in Vecna's mindscape, which is why Vecna can do what he does. It is (effectively) all a dream. The ONLY people to interact with Vecna, IN REALITY, are Steve, Robin, and Nancy.

i predict Eleven will fly in season 5. it was hinted at twice. Brennan said she needs to "fly" when referring to her in the Nina tank... and Mike also said "you can fly" during his emotional encouragement to her while she was fighting Vecvna. I think they placed these words in there very intentionally. Idk. would be crazy. i think its very very likely possible

People always forget that Eleven actually flew a little bit during the finale of season 2 while trying to close the giant gate under the lab. She started to levitate for a bit. She's definitely flying in season 5 for sure! 💯🙌

1:16:57 Bingo. Henry has control of Max’s mind. That’s why she’s comatose. In episode 7, he told El that his victims are “still with him.” This includes Max. El used the strength from her TK powers on Max to bring her back. During the diner scene in episode 3, Owens tells El that not only can she get her powers back, but she’d be even stronger so I feel like this is just a taste of what we’ll see on that front as we go into the final season.

Agree but what confuses me is that, Vecna didn't completely consumed Max. Her jaw didn't break. We still saw her breathe, and she even talked to Lucas-- that she doesn't wanna die etc. So basically the reason Max died, for over a minute, was because she had broken bones and bleeding eyes. Eleven used her telekenesis to pump Max's heart that's why they said it was a miracle. I'm so curious for what will happen in S5.

The whole time they were going through with this plan all I kept thinking was, "this is so awesome to see them being so in sync with one another despite being thousands of miles apart. But why do I have a feeling that they're playing right into Vecna's hands and he's relying on them to do exactly that?". He's been watching and plotting behind the scenes for 3 years, he knows all of their strengths and their weaknesses, so it stands to reason that he knew exactly what they were going to do. Max is selfless and brave so she would volunteer to be the one who baits Vecna, but he'd already laid the groundwork so everything was ready for him to kill her. He showed Nancy his plan, because she's the defacto leader of the group in Hawkins, so he knew that she would come up with the plan and everyone would follow it. And Steve and Robin would back her up. And of course El would appear to fight him in the mindscape to try and save Max. They all did exactly what he thought they'd do.

A couple things I think might happen: I think you guys are dead right that Max is trapped in Vecan's mind. I think he is going to keep her to bait Eleven to coming to him. I also am hoping to see Eight make a reappearance. She is the only other number still alive. At the ending scene, everyone is in pairs, except Eleven is by herself. So, if Eight shows up somehow there are 2 of them to fight Vecna. Lastly, you guys are great. Love your reactions

The Mind Flayer isn't controlling Vecna. Vecna created the Mind Flayer as we see at 40:13 Vecna was the mastermind behind everything. At least, that's what we've been shown up to this point.

For some reason, the fans who still believe the Mind Flayer controls Vecna (or that Vecna is doing the Mind Flayer's bidding) use the quote from Dustin in episode 7 "if the Demogorgon was just his foot soldier, Vecna's his five star general." as their proof. Now while that quote would be evidence for their claim. The scene we are talking about in episode 9 disproves Dustin's hypothesis and and in turn makes their evidence invalid. The fact that Eleven said "it was. It was you. Always you" after being showed by Vecna what happened to him and then Vecna slowly nods in agreement shows that what Dustin said was incorrect. Also, Dustin didn't yet know that Vecna was Henry Creel and 001 until Nancy told him in the next episode. It's like these fans didn't watch this scene or didn't listen to Vecna's monologue. The things Vecna talks about in his monologue to Eleven proves he's the main villain and controls the Mind Flayer.

Hawkins crew storyline was the best followed by El’s story then California group and the Russia storyline are tied for last. Murray and Enzo were the best characters in the Russia storyline. Max was the highlight this season!!!

If Eddie's trailer got ripped apart when the portal opened, it might have destroyed the trailer park and killed Max's mom. And Eddie might be back next season. If Vecna wanted to have Eleven's powers, he might try to bring back Eddie like El did Max. And use Eddie as a villain for next season. Eight might also come back to play a villain too when she sees Hawkins on the news.

This entire episode felt like Chucky meets Red Dawn meets Terminator 2. Did you read how David Harbour said he's still struggling to get back to a good weight after having lost about 75 pounds for this show? I was honestly shocked when I first saw the actor Joseph Quinn and saw he did not really have long hair. LOL, it was hard trying to wrap my head around that trying to imagine him with the long hair. I gotta admit, I wanted to see Jason Carver have a more fitting gruesome ending and beatdown. I thought it was so cool David Harbour revealed that sword he used to fight with was the one used in the original Conan the Barbarian with Arnold.

Eddie will be Kas on season 5, he's the vampire lieutenant of vecna, his most loyal officer who will see vecna's true colors and impale him with his sword after ripping off his right eye and his left hand, ending vecna's reign of terror, the only weapon and warrior that can kill vecna is Kas and his sword which will be Eddie, because like on d&d, he's the most important character, he's our mightiest hero
