David seems like a good guy. It's great that he has been public about his sobriety and his bipolar disorder. There is still stigma associated with both, but bipolar in particular, so kudos for him using his platform to show people that it's OK to talk about and be who you are. And that you can get better.

As long as he doesn't voice his political opinion like a buffoon encouraging kids to punch people they disagree with in the face... then yeh I'm fine with him using his platform once again. Sobriety is tough.. I know first hand. Good for him for spreading that message.

This guy is currently my favorite actor, not just for his amazing works, but I've been watching a lot of his interviews and he seems very wise and very sensible, he's been through a lot and learned from his past, honestly reminds me a little bit of my dad the way he talks and explains things, maybe that's why I gravitate towards him.
@alondathomas2932 жыл бұрын
First saw him as a creepy villain in A Walk Among The Tombstones years ago---that's a very dark, but really good film noir---and in other films afterwards, so it was cool to see him blow up because of Stranger Things. He was also pretty funny as the wanna-be superhero in Black Widow, and had two of the best action sequences in the film. It's been good to see more and more famous people like him openly talk about struggling with their own personal mental health issues, because it takes the shame and the stigma out of speaking about it. Good character actor with a memorable look too, who's worth seeing in just about anything he's in.

Sadly, I think 'branding' is here to stay for any actor. I hope that the talent agencies that manage any actor at any age helps guide them through the process, they shouldn't have to maneuver the branding process without professional help. And actors should be encouraged to put branding in the proper context in their lives, they are not the brand, the brand should be curated and developed as an entity outside of personhood.

Super sharp guy, and his IQ definitely comes out in his acting! The first thing I saw him in was the short lived but very excellent WGN series Manhattan, which was about the Manhattan Project. He really commanded the screen in that series, and I had a feeling he'd go on to have a great career. Happy to see that he's essentially become an icon through Stranger Things!

Everything he says is true, but that's why parents must step up. As well, it's a choice to pursue fame and there are tangible rewards that, perhaps because we live in the 'kardashocene' era, are mythically attainable. It's crap, it's not living a good life, it's superficial and ultimately, if that's all there is, will leave a person alone and unfulfilled.

He's a great guy. Seems down to earth. Love him in S.T :) Personally I particularly dislike the world of Celebrity for a couple of reasons..one because it creates unpleasant Egos at times - such as the celebs who demands special treatment (Diana Ross as an example who demands things at restaurants) - but also because there aren't many celebs you will find who haven't been negatively affected by their new found stardom such as people abusing them or using them or walking over them. So I think once you become a "celeb", you ultimately enter a world of corruption. On the other hand, being paid good money for what you do and having supportive loving fans who love you must be a great confidence booster. I just wouldn't wish to experience that myself, not when anxiety and exhausation kicks in.

It's probably because she spent a good part of her youth in England. I visited London fir the first time 5 years ago and was struck by how ordinary the reporters and anchors looked. I don't recall seeing any runway models delivering the news. It as if they were all hired because of their talent with no consideration that they had to look beautiful. Spending the earliest part of her youth being raised Shiite Muslim in Iram probably contributes to her choices too.

Unfortunately some of the kids from Stranger Things are going to be typecast by their characters in the show and may not work again as adult actor's. We've seen it before with other child actor's who go off the rails later in life because they never worked again in Hollywood. It's always a thought in the back of my mind when I watch these mega successful shows or movies with child actors.
