Stranger Things season 4 review. A lot of people have been looking forward to the release of stranger things season 4. There has been a lot of hype for it with the new Stranger Things season 4 trailer releasing. It seems all of the Stranger Things Season 4 trailer reaction have been good, but I'm sorry to let you guys know the truth behind this.

True i called the new season A Nightmare to Tell in the Dark cause its just a mix of a nightmare on elm street and scary stories to tell in the dark. But A Nightmare on Elm Street and Scary Stories to tell in the dark are alone better then season 4 of stranger things

What are you guys talking about? He’s inspired by Freddy Krueger in design but they really don’t have many similarities after that. The twists were good, CGI was decent The acting was phenomenal and it said subway more mystery than the previous seasons (not including the first season). I wouldn’t even go to say that it was unnecessary seeing as the Duffer brothers have already had the vision for this season for a long time. I can understand if you don’t like it but it’s definitely not a terrible series by any matter.

They literally had Robert in the show to so they weren’t hiding it it’s just annoying to me because they barely show the monsters and when the monster finds the main cast u know nothing is gonna happen anyway the monster is never allowed to kill any main people and the monster is never around that much anyway I wish we had more creatures so we could get more action with them to and if u don’t like one monster u might like another because right when I saw vecna and what he does I wasn’t really interested but knew he was the only thing we would see all season just cause I already seen tons of people have those types of powers and Freddy in general who does it way more entertaining yea we have demo to but he was in it for like 5 minutes if even I mean it’s why I even watch I am most def not watching because I care about the group lol anytime they are on I’m just like can something happen besides talk or convenient mystery solving now we gotta wait a long time till we see anything else when if they could’ve went a little faster could’ve had much more happen in the season

It doesn't help that the main actors have all gotten older. They don't even look like high school kids anymore. Some of them are not cute kids anymore. And the story is just not interesting. The acting is all over the place too. Sometimes they are just phoning it in. Other times they over act.

same here. honestly it's so bad. i finished the whole s4 just two days tho with my parents. they liked it. i didn't. it feels so force this season. it's a complete mess. and some parts are just so corny, some dialogues are too weak. the cgi wss terribly bad they said "it's darkier and scarier" it's more like soulless season. i was really expecting a lot this season.

I hate a lot of things about it first of all max plot armor she should’ve been dead dude she was in the air for minutes but gets a pass cause she’s a main character like it would’ve shown stakes if they killed max but also figured out what worked against him instead of everything going in favor for the group constantly but if ur not a main character u die right away in the air. Also remember when 6 was around they made it seem like each kid had different powers she was way diff than 11 in powers but it turns out they are all the same powers. And I wish we had more monster screen time and more creatures from the upside down in general it’s been 4 seasons and that’s why I’m even watching yet we only had like 3 monsters and they are barely around and when they get to the main group they are absolutely useless and can’t lay a finger on them but can murder tons of agents etc. and we only see demo for one scene to. Now we gotta wait a long time they could’ve picked up the pace a little bit and revealed stuff way quicker and resolve it in one season instead of being slow. I only am watching for the monsters death and stuff I really don’t care about any other character and I am not invested in the group at all that is immune to anything they shouldn’t be surviving because of that like u said we have so many characters now in the group but we know they are not in any danger unless they are a side character I can barely watch anything anymore everything is so dumb now

@@theunseen3 I didn’t even find this level of cartoonish kind of jock bullies in most John Hughes’ teen movies (except in Weird Science but that’s cause it’s comedy and not horror drama like Stranger Things!). And even if his bullies were cliche, they were still more nuanced and human than the jock bullies in ST (Steff in Pretty in Pink; Bender in Breakfast Club; Andy in Breakfast Club (taping the buns of another nerdy boy reference he made). Another is even the Johnny Lawrence 80s bully archetype still had a decent amount of humanity in him that lessens him remaining a fully one dimensional character. Most of those you find with 80s one dimensional teen bullies this laughable is in most comedies at that time. And even so, ST failed at characterising them well like how Cobra Kai managed to do with the school bully themes and dynamics.

I think what made season 1 so good was that it was made like a S. King novel. It was also made like older horror games like Resident Evil 1-3. The characters didnt know what they were facing, they were weak kids, and they were in a small town. Now we got characters that can invade russian bases (season 3) and there was mystery. Season 1 should have been the only season and should have left things unanswered. its not my show to right but i feel as if the plan was to just have this series and be done. In my oppionion shows should have a ending planned to a degree from the begging. We dont need a anime style show where theres a new threat every arc.

It really didn’t. The story, the plot, the dialogue, the cinematography, the editing, just about every aspect of this season creation wise is nothing like the other seasons. Even s3 was very similar to how s1 felt but there was a subtle difference. Now season 4 is nothing like any other seasons. It actually doesn’t feel like stranger things at all, like it’s not even directed the same anymore. I don’t know, it’s odd. I just liked how they really nailed setting an atmosphere and feeling for the audience while watching for season 1 and now S4 is doing absolutely none of that. No attempt at world building or character development. Another boring trope against the commie Russians, and another boring bogus reason the upside down is alive again. I just feel like for a 3 year wait that season 4 is a huge let down for the fans.

If your wondering who vecna is he’s Henry creel (which is 001) and he’s the one “helping” el. el opens the portal(that we see in season 1-3) and puts Henry in there and he turns into vecna

I didn’t watch ST for the longest time like until 2021 because I always felt like this is what is was, a mashup of copying other horror stories and trying to make some retro 80s fanatica out of it. Well it worked and that’s essentially what it is, the idea it’s created on is not meant to be a 4 season tv show it was more of a long sci fi film idea. And i think if they would’ve just made season 1 a movie and then made season 4 a sequel to the the movie when their a little older I think it would’ve just fit better. We wouldn’t have such an expansive universe, but in some cases and I think this is one of them, that’s not a bad thing.

This is my opinion where I think it went wrong. I liked season one season two and half of season three The ending of season three The ending where Hopper supposedly died and then they bring him back in season four why would you even pretend to kill him off anyways if he’s just gonna come back in the next season and then season four with Vecna I think that’s how you spell his name why wouldn’t 11 tell anyone about him earlier and any other seasons I mean he seems like a pretty big character just to be sidelined for the whole first three seasons and his whole character just seems to be made up so that they can make more money off of another season.

The Duffers seem to be grasping at straws at this point. Hopper is my favorite character but it pisses me off that they couldn't commit to killing him. It irritates me even more that they didn't even try to explain how he survived an explosion that literally was disintegrating everyone in the room at a cellular level. He was just laying on the floor I guess..... That's the best they had. Also does anyone remember the annoying movie buff character from the Scream movies that would explain movie rules in the film as if they somehow held weight in reality? That's the exact character Dustin has become everytime they need a dungeons and dragons analogy to explain exactly what's going on. Veccna is pretty much a Freddy Kreuger rip off and for people who are saying he isn't.... Robert Englund is literally in the damn show! Stranger Things has been jumping the shark since season two, but it hasn't been bad until now. Murray is a character I absolutely hate now. You mean to tell me some middle age guy who does 80's karate can take out Russian soldiers now? I van maybe see him taking out the scummy pilot but now all of this sudden he's freaking Johnny Lawrence? Give me a break dude. The whole idea of Joyce and Murray going to Russia was dumb in the first place. I tolerated the huge leaps of logic in season 3 because it was at least entertaining. But nothing about this season was all that great. The idea of 001 being Veccna was creative up until the point they had to spend half of the last episode how he became Veccna. OKAY WE GET IT! HE'S VECCNA, NOW SPEND SOME TIME DEVELOPING YOU'RE OTHER 20 CHARACTERS THAT YOU DON'T HAVE TIME FOR! Also the whole is Will gay or not is extremely unnecessary. I doubt that kid would be into that stuff with all the slugs and tentacles that have invaded his orifices.

The Alaska story was the only good thing I like watching cause it showed all those creepy upside down monsters it was more nostalgic then what everyone was doing dealing with their people problems every single character besides Hopper and the rest were having mental problems the portrayal of what they think someone who smokes weed looks like is dumb there was hardly any plot with 11 and the rest they were only filming the characters the whole time before getting back to the actual situation film my face for a 20 min while I talk about nothing it's all for self recognition for their fame their acting was kinda off like I said the Alaska mission was the only good thing disbanding them and taking away the what made the show good they should've made them meet way sooner instead of waiting till the literal end like why wast a whole season to have a good season

what i dont like about s4 of stranger things: - the california gang. waste of screentime. the only good part was when the byers house got attacked, but yknow what theyre fine bc atleast the writers knew i didnt like those characters anyway and just decided to throw them aside and gave them a useless and boring storyline - all of 011's storylines since season 1. i just never liked the whole hawkins lab and 011 backstory, and i never really liked 011 all that much. the only time i thought she was atleast bearable was in season 3 just because she wasnt important at all she was just the fighter in the group, we didnt need to get bored with her hawkins lab backstories - 001 being vecna, i thought it was cool at first bc 001 is a pretty cool character, but it wouldve been cooler to me if vecna was just a completely different character, it wouldve made the mind flayer and the upside down feel more mysterious bc we didnt hear about 001's adventure on the upside down and the fact that he basically created the mind flayer. but now that we know vecna is like the god of the upside down then it just made it not interesting. i liked the idea of him being the 5 star general and not being the big bad guy who was pulling the strings all along (the upside down shouldve been left untouched) - eddies death. i think it was unnecessary and cheap, the whole "i didnt run away this time" thing was so expected and corny, i honestly didnt feel anything when he died and i was just so disappointed it kinda ruined the entire episode for me. they shouldve just let him live then bc unlike the other characters that died in previous seasons (bob, alexei) eddie genuinely had potential to rise up to become one of the main characters like steve. but no they had to kill him in such a cheap and uninspired way - this ones a little nitpicky, but i didnt like the running up that hill song. i mean i do like the song, but i dont like how they used it in the show, ig its fine in ep4 when max was running and stuff that was understandable bc its like her favorite song, but i didnt like how they used like an epic version of it in the ending, its like those really generic action movie trailer music with the loud THUDS, it was so cringe to me honestly. i liked it more when the soundtrack had a retro vibe like in season 3, especially in the end when dustin was like "CLOSE IT! CLOSE IT NOW!" i thought that was so cool and it just fits the entire vibe of the show - not enough action scenes in the finale, i never liked the psychic fights in stranger things bc its just lame and boring. but for the main action hero steve, there werent enough fights with him in the episode, i mean sure we had the one in ep 7 but still, they shouldve fought some bats or some demodogs guarding the place, and also the hopper vs demogorgon felt so unrealistic to me and the fact that it was all in slow motion just made it less cooler to me, but hey atleast we got the demogorgon fight in episode 7 - wasted potential with the demogorgons taking over the russian prison, there couldve been more action like a zombie outbreak type shid - unfinished ending, and no im not talking about the cliffhanger, im talking about the time skip. i didnt like how theyre in the middle of fighting then suddenly its 16 years later, its just so disappointing. but yeah sure the gates opening cliffhanger was pretty sick ill give em that - russia plot is underrated, i think its the best parts of season 3 and 4

The first 3 seasons I was a die hard fan, even had a fan account on instagram but over the 3 year hiatus i grew up a lot and really didn't care about it too much- that along with the fact that I couldn't even get 5 episodes into season 4 because of sheer boredom really speaks volumes about exactly how theyre losing their fanbase. it used to be a mystery show built around a small town and nostalgia - just good vibes- but now somehow they're involved with the USSR with no government help and its just overdone and completely abandons the whole reason we liked it in the first place

Yep. The problem with being a diehard fan about anything, is that they will accept anything from that franchise. I friggin' love Star Wars, but hated most everything Disney made. Boba Fett sucked and Obi-Wan is ehh. Im not gonna just sit there and say "its great!" I also love Jurassic Park, but the last 2 Jurassic Worlds werent great. And I loved the 1st + 2nd Stranger Things. Even got the soundtracks. Its fun to watch during Halloween season, and the anticipation for season 2 was fun! Season 3 was a fun summer, getting ice cream at Baskin Robbins surrounded by ST marketing. But I held back getting excited for season 4, bc I could sense it was going to be horrible. That, and I knew woke agendas were going to be injected into it. Boy was I was right. From now on, I only acknowledge the Stranger Things trilogy. Also, Jurassic World 3 looks to be decent though.

The characters and writing are ridden with gigabrain detective syndrome. By that, I mean that everytime the characters are absolutely stuck in a certain situation/topic, they just figure shit out in the dumbest way possible solely for the sake of the plot to move forward. They grasp diamond-level discoveries from breadcrumb-level "clues" that could easily have really led to nothing at all, but the writing tries really hard to make these characters look smart so their hunches are ALWAYS right on the money, which is hilarious. It's actually the stupidest shit I've seen in awhile.

@@Treacho Robin figuring the music out for Vecna was a MASSIVE hunch and was discovered from very low non-substantial information and they went to that location on a long shot, but of course Max (a main character and a child character) is saved and it's easy to tell that she was safe to begin with. I was waiting for them to pull something out of their a** last minute and they absolutely did in a poorly executed way. Also, Unknown Agent Guy gives them a pen and Mike is like "Wait, why isn't it working?! It's gotta be because it's a super secret pen that has a hidden piece of info INSIDE!" The pen could've just been a dud and defective and had no secret info inside of it, and they still would have been stuck in the middle of nowhere still trying to figure out wtf to do, but the plot conveniently unravels for our characters to proceed in the story.

i believe season1 and 2 were great, especially season 2 ending had a great conclusion with the ball, season 3 was wack, it introduced a comedic side to the story that changed the tone for the bad and while season 4 tried to save the mess it just created a bigger one with lackluster management of the writing. That last episode was so badly edited, handled 'deaths' stupidly and just shows how immature the writers are being with the criticism.

I think this is why Season 4 is terrible: - Grew upped Eleven, Mike, and Will looks terrible. - Cringe repetitive poster "Hawkins will fall" with Will's and Eleven's faces looking like bowel shots. - Fans overreacting to Eddie Munson and Chrissy, I don't know why. - Angela and Jason being Dirk the Jerk. - Fans doing Max-like white-eyed demon styles. - And lastly, the story I think the only way to make this series more interesting is to add new characters with different gifts like I don't know, psychic abilities, revelations, or actions. Add new villain referencing to other things not only D&D because it is redundant, something like Legends, Myths, Stories, and more. And also less cringe

I don't care about the cringe part about the fan base, because as a fact, fanbase does not and should not impact on how good or bad a show is. Idk if it was just me but i felt very distanced from this show coming into season 4. I couldn't enjoy it. Maybe it was the long wait but I'm not sure. It's not that it was a bad season, it just isn't fun to me anymore. Ar the end of volume 1 i felt sad, confused and shocked for the henry crill arc but it just didn't hit me as much as previous seasons did where basically i was alll over the floor even at the 7th episode of each season i definetly had cried once by then but idk it was different this time around

So many people think they know better, and can do better, but it’s not your vision or creation and even if it was; how would they make sense of the Upside down and the origin story of Eleven and everything else, while completing the existing story lines, reaching a final conclusion, whilst still upping the stakes and upscaling on all levels. What the reviewer and some of the commentators don’t seem to comprehend is that of course the characters will evolve, especially the kids and that one of reasons Stranger Things succeeded and continues to, is because it takes chances & risks and tries new things each season, whilst still retaining it’s core identity and values. It’s not supposed to be an easy ride watching it and sure, we’d all change little things maybe or get frustrated; but ultimately, I feel they’ve done brilliantly so far, particularly after that pandemic. The effort, time, thought,passion, excellence and charm shines through undeniably. Let’s not lose sight of that.
