Strangers with candy might be the most underseen/rated comedies ever, and Amy Sedaris is a genius.

for real, i wish stephen would talk about it more on interviews and his show but i guess it was only 2 years of his life...eh i thought it was genius and NO ONE EVER MENTIONS it, its kind of upsetting lol

I saw “One Woman Shoe” 12:09 twice at La Mama. Was in the midst of a suicidal alcoholic depression. Amy and David Raikoff were the crown jewels, I went in crying and I left nearly crippled from laughing-non stop. Her Lucia di Lammermoor mad scene at the end was a tour de force, easily placed on the level of the great chicken divas of the past! Her sleazy rants were in the key of Evil Miner.

Turn to Jesus He loves you, He is the healer of the body And savior of the soul, There is True Hope in Jesus, God protects Psalms 91, He is the God of miracles Acts 2:21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved Jesus alone saves Trust Him with your salvation John 3:16 1 Corinthians 15 1-4 Moreover Brethren, i declare unto you the gospel which i preached unto you, which also ye have received, and with wherein ye stand By which also ye are saved, if you keep in memory what i preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain, For i delivered unto you first of all that which i also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures, Take care

Pretty secure in herself as well. #1. Steve McQueen would never play a character so "undesirable" #2. Just watched her interviewed before this, "single, dating no one...". She is pretty adorable.

Colbert: "...and the thing we wanted was for nobody at the school to pay attention to the fact that she was 46. Over the course of 30 shows, no one ever says, 'hey, that woman's 46!' I just is completely accepted." So this show is about acceptance! So heartwarming!

@@theexpresidents No but your comment points out that you lack imagination, you repeat what you're told. Even when that doesn't make sense. Here's a little help: By ignoring her age while being in high school it doesn't spiral into a; her versus them, instead she "doesn't fit in sometimes" much like any other h.s. student. That makes the show work.

I got to admit I was one of those people that never watched this show when it came out, I saw bits and pieces but I didn't understand it. I didn't see where the humor was coming from, much like third Rock from the sun back when it first came out, I didn't understand the plot so I didn't know why it was funny. when I learned the plot to 3rd Rock from the sun I couldn't believe how funny it was, and I'm looking forward to binge watching this show this weekend if I can find it on Netflix or KZbin or wherever.

Amy makes a reference to "Cancel Culture" so roughly 2016-2017 maybe? However, listening to them joke around brings me straight back to the 90's when people were actually funny and not overtly concerned with being offended on behalf of someone else.

@arcanondrum65436 ай бұрын
I doubt that. Colbert was probably hired away for "The Daily Show" as a correspondent, Amy keeps pretty busy... and that's without any research. "Sw/C" was so edgy that the it surely made executives a bit nervous -> 11:20 and finally, it didn't catch on until people learned what they lost. Comedy Central had developed a replacement for that timeslot... that no one has heard of.

It reminds me of a bunch of softball players at a tavern with a pitcher of beer going over details of the game they just played, that's only important to them. Stuff like this is for the cast, not for us. BTW, the Museum of Television and Radio is awesome.
