The SAME thing (pace) happened to me yesterday. My buddy and I were the second group off for the day and weren't scraping the ball around too bad (both shot low 80s), but we were playing match-play. 13th hole after having to go back to the cart twice to swap clubs on a cart-path only hole and all of a sudden, a twosome is waiting on the teebox. I rush the yardage on my approach and airmail one into the garbage behind the green, wound up shooting my only double there because the dudes pulled up out of nowhere, even though we finished in 3 1/2 hours. This is what happens when you get stuck behind so many groups that take 5 hours to play, you become super aware and anxious of becoming that group that holds the entire course up...
