I'm not handicapped but waitng for my friend to get over a crap condition of uncontrolled epilepsy, I won't go without him, these video's are a good stand in for when you can't go. So much more valuable probably than the original poster realises. Also a good substitute for a typical snowless christmas in the UK.... I can get by by drawing the curtains, not looking outside at the grey rot and watch this instead.@@janefigueroa1731

Went to Strasbourg 6 years ago. Strasbourg has one of the most beautiful and well preserved historic centers I've seen. Plus, it has preserved so much of its regional or traditional Alsatian architecture even beyond the historic center, which gives it so much character and sense of place. I hope to go their during their Christmas Market one day.

This is the most beautiful Christmas area I have seen. So romantic, so wonderfully decorated. They put real decorated Christmas trees on all the roofs. Have never seen anything like that. This one is Number 1, even the Christmas Markets in Germany are not this nice.

It really is a beautiful. I live in Strasbourg but everytimes I am in front of the cathedral, I am in awe. It's stunningly high and detailed. Btw, the craftsmen of the cathedral are renowned are actually helping with the Notre Dame de Paris' restoration.

This looks like a cool city. That church is just wow. The closest I have been is Zurich which is also lovely and only a short drive away. I love that it is a French city but many of the names are both German and French so I would probably be comfortable as I know a little of both languages. Maybe someday I can go to the Christmas market and buy decorations for my home.

Beautiful video! Thanks for sharing! You may want to edit your subtitle in the beginning. "Chauds marrons" is "Hot Chestnuts" not "coming through, watch out!" It's a fairly common treat enjoyed around Christmas through most of France. With everything you learned about there, did you learn anything about all the Germanic influences especially in naming of areas and people? I know it's a border city with Germany, I'm just wondering if the land passed hands back and forth or is it something to do with the Alsatian culture? When I visited the south/northern Spain I was struck by all the Catalan in that region, do you know if this is kind of a similar thing?
