Alessia Cara was invited by Metallica to do a cover for the "Blacklist" album. Alessia's management team is the same as The Warning's so they got together to re-imagine this classic. Alessia was in Canada, The Warning in Mexico. They did all the writing, recording, and production in only one week. Amazing. The original music video is also worth watching. Really good imagery there. I have to admit, I am not a Metallica fan, and I was sick of this song, until this version came along. A lullaby where Alessia very sweetly puts you to bed, then Dany rouses the troups, shares a little prayer, and the angel chorus comes to sing you to sleep, then Boom, the hammer drops. I think of this very much as the female version of the tale. So good. Delicate, powerful, soothing, strong, gentle, fierce-all at the same time. I love this one.

and BTW, CDMX is the tetragraph designator for Cuidad de Mexico (what we northerner English speakers would call Mexico City). CDMX is used the same way others might use NYC for New York, LON for London, or SYD for Sydney.

This version really is an upgrade to the original! Much more layers, more dynamics in the parts, the singing parts are awesome... I would say that this got a female spin on it, in the best way. And in the end they show true respect with shredding it down to the Earth´s core. Well . DONE. LADIES!!!

Fun reaction. Glad you (re)discovered these ladies and appreciate their accomplishments. A few quick notes. Their live shows where you can see their stage presence and experience the energy and charisma up close are spectacular (I saw them in NYC last week). Any of the performances from Teatro Metropolitan that are available on their KZbin page are terrific. They are now in Europe and will open for Muse multiple times, as well as tour through many countries headlining and playing festivals in the coming weeks. One final note though - they released a new song called "More" two weeks ago. It has a completely different sound and I'd be interested in your opinion. Great Reaction! Love this version that they came up with for Metallica's Blacklist Album. I'm sure the guy's in Metallica loved it too when they heard it. The Warning have been on Tour in the U.S. since 4/30/2023, but it ended last week in Philly and they are now in England getting ready to open for Muse (their favorite band) on 5/27 in Plymouth. After that they are going to Germany for a few shows and then Tour around Europe doing some of the Rock Festivals and opening for Muse a few more times. Their first time in Europe!

Hey Jeff. I agree , I love this version. They made it their own. This is the version that was included on the Metallica Blacklist album(30th anniversary of the Black album). They did it with Alessia Cara in a week. Alessia recorded in Canada, and they were in Mexico. Metallica told them to re imagine the song,. they didn't care if it was turned upside down or played backwards. That Gibson Explorer is the guitar that Lzzy Hale gifted to Dany last summer. You said you are going to do more from The Warning. More, just happens to be the title to their brand new single released a couple weeks ago. This video is 1 of 6 released so far from the Teatro Metropolitan CDMX 2022 show. Disciple, Choke, Animosity, Money, and Martirio (one of their Spanish language songs) are the other 5.

I love this version in front of a sold out show, at THE most respectable venue in the largest city in North America, embodies their entire essence as a band, and tells the story from what they have become, since the original ES went Viral as little girls in the basement. Why the f people keep saying this is the best venue in Mexico City? It isn’t, not even in the top 10. It’s an old movie palace that went out of business in the 80’s, sat unused for 10 years until someone bought it, remodeled, and turned it into a rock venue. It is a good venue but saying this is the best is absolute bull crap. The most prestigious venue of this kind is the National Auditorium, period. Stop with the f exaggeration for f sake. I bet you haven’t even been there.

Many have said that this venue is compared to playing the prestigious Carnegie Hall in the States, and that means a lot in terms of both an honor to perform there, and recognition from playing there. Their arrangements are like a breath of fresh air!!😄 When Metallica first did Enter Sandman for the Black Album, the media literally played it to death, and I was thoroughly SICK of it!😝 Then they decided to give other artists in all genres the chance to rework the songs of the Black Album, and put their signature sound on them.. and the 30th anniversary 'Blacklist' album was born. Hetfield and the rest of the guys basically said 'Turn it upside down, inside out, and backwards, but *make it your own!* So that's essentially what The Warning and Alessia Cara did with this.. (in 8 days no less!) They were pressed for time to get it, AND the music video done, and this was the result!🤩 You really should check out the official music video for this, when you have time.. definitely worth it!! 🤘😎🤘

I love watching your face as it just keeps getting better...and better...and better. They didn't recreate the song, they totally retooled it and made it far better than Metallica's version. I'm 76, saw Cream, The Who, The Stones, and The Beatles live. I like The Warning better. They put on a better show and, did you notice?, no show offs, no extended solos, just the song pure and siimple. Do Martirio next. It's a rousing rock anthem. And Dany's voice sounds even better in her natural language.
