The vocals were stunning. The unsung heroes here are the rest of the band. This type of song is one of the most difficult to perform, because it takes a real group of professionals to hold the time, give the vocals the space they need, and not overplay while giving the piece just the right amount of sparkle (awesome piano work) to not turn it into a dirge. Perfection.

Your observation, Jeff, that you don't need to (because it is counterproductive to appreciation) to compare Leonid and Friends and HSCC is, I think, apropos. They are each excellent at what they do in their own right. Leonid's efforts, obviously, are on a much bigger scale and level of complexity. HSCC is working with a smaller group and by virtue of that not as "big band", but... but they clearly embody the same level of fervor, love and joy for the music, its authors and technical mastery that Leonid and Friends embrace.

Jeff, the lead singers name is Kat Jade and is one of the Best singers out there. Her range is outstanding. Maybe it's just not fair to do Whitney Houston. Stay Well and be Safe.
