Kinda see where John Williams got inspired for jaws with this piece

Nonono! He was mostly inspired by Dvořák, but with Stravinskij too!

Almost all of the original trilogy music from Star Wars is from this piece. Movement 2 of the “rite of spring” and the beginning of “Tatooine” are the same song.

He does not get inspired he is just like: “ hey this is a cool piece, now it’s mine I’ll just change 1 note”

@@jannekolny2456the inspiration from Dvorak 9 begins and ends with the first few measures of the finale. I'd argue that there is much more Stravinsky influence than Dvorak.

The scene where Han Solo is running down a tunnel in a new hope has this part of the rite of spring but if you check the soundtrack it’s not sourced.

Yeah williams loves aping stravinsky. Apparently george lucas had already scored the fourth episode with music taken primarily from rite of spring (the desert music is literally just the opening piece of rite’s act ii) and wouldn’t let williams deviate from it very much. To me this still doesn’t explain the clear preponderance of famous classical pieces showing up in the rest of his scores
@MarshMallowMarauder Жыл бұрын
@@emmetharrigan5234 Directors do this sort of thing all the time. The Holst and all that appearing in the OT is there for the same reason, plus plenty of other classical quotes in cinema music. Look up "temp tracks" if you're curious

This piece has become like Beethoven’s Fifth. That means that today’s musicians have better chops than many before them just because they can play this piece routinely.

Hhiiiii... NIC. Ot , tak sobie coś wymyślił.
