One time a boy in my class touched a girl’s bra strap repeatedly after she told him to stop. She punched him and was suspended for three weeks. Coincidentally, the day she came back, the nurse gave all of the girls how to “cover up” so we wouldn’t be distracting. It still pisses me off to think about. Mel is is the only artist, who has never (to our knowledge) been sexually abused or assaulted and gets the emotions spot on. The blame on yourself, convincing yourself that they're not wrong you are, and the constant thought that you need to look the best for these people that don't deserve you. But also that dressing a certain way wint get you cat called or anything. "I dont make sure my legs are shiny" she doesnt care for apperance or the phrase "put icing ontop" she just wore an outfit but guys will say, you wore that and didnt expect this that and the other. She just gets it spot on and to see people who have never been either cat called, rubbed up on, sent nudes by people you thought you trusted or emotionally and sexually abused by people you thought were close friends go after her because she's highlighting the problem and taking away the voices of these girls and boys who have had this happen to them. They're taking my voice away and making it seem like melanie is using my issue for clout when in actuality mel never cared for fame, she just wanted her music to be heard.
