True. KPop and JPop seem influenced somehow by them

Stop saying “underrated “ and they were just a one hit wonder that’s all.

in 2004 when Rose performed in San Francisco at the DNA lounge i was telling her how much she influenced the gothic Lolita look , at the time i was not sure if she was fully aware how much of an influence she has been. Also at this live show that you can find a recording of at the internet archive, many in the audience were crying tears of joy from just being there with her singing many of he beloved songs.

The post-punk/goth/dream music scene is among one of my favorites. Strawberry Switchblade were one of the greatest one-off music duos ever!! 🖤🖤

I grew up in the 80s but discovered their music recently. I think they were a big influence to Japanese visual Kei bands like Lareine. Good video!

I absolutely adored this band as a thirteen year old, I bought everything including imports and I was in their fan club. I don't think I'd have survived my teen years without the SS album.

It just backs up your point about their impact but all throughout the video despite how im not the most knowledgeable abt music history especially that specific scene and how i never heard of this band or their members before there was this sense of deja vu with their outfits; makeup and even music (i swear i heard deep water before or at least the strings in it) so yeah they were truly a band that left a mark here

Movie producer Joe Augustyn credits them with inspiring the costume Linnea Quigley wore in Night of the Demons. He used a Bauhaus tune in the movie but he loved this band.

My favourite song from them is Ecstasy besides not being able to be sad while listening to it it introduced me to the expression "Apple of my eye" and I think that's such a sweet expression

I literally dress like them. Ribbons, flowers, eyeliner, and all. My brother can't even watch their videos now BC he thinks I look too much like Rose!🤣

If I remember right, my first exposure to Strawberry Switchblade was by watching "Goodnight LA", a local music video programme on KABC channel 7, in the 1980s. I was immediately impressed and sought and bought their LP.

I actually discovered Strawberry Switchblade fairly late, knowing Rose's work mainly from the early neofolk-scene, especially with Death in June, Current 93 and her own project Sorrow

Interesting that a lot of KZbin videos highlighting stuff and classing it as ‘you never saw’…. Nope, you just weren’t born at the right time to live in the best decade ever - the 1980’s…. You missed out…. But it’s nice to see you working to bring it to the attention of youngsters.

I remember a couple more songs, because I bought the album after "Since Yesterday", that song really was a very big success, maybe they didn't know how to carry it.
