You can ferment practically anything that has carbohydrates (sugars.) Fruit, grain, honey, potatoes. You can even ferment wood and paper, but it is not recommended because you can end up making methyl alcohol if you do not know what you are doing, which will make you blind and/or mentally disabled permanently if you consume it.

Making strawberry wine is very similar with most fruit wines. The difference is the yeasts you use. Also you want the least amount of headspace you can get away with. With more head space you run the risk of oxidation of the wine.

May I ask: 1) If I don’t want to make the wine sparkle at the end, can I consume the wine directly after bottling? 2) to reduce alcohol content, I should reduce the amount of sugar. Should I also reduce fermentation time or no?

I love this video.. your Strawberry wine looks so good.. i am going to try doing it. May i ask, 1) if it is necessary to cook the strawberry? Can i do it like doing red wine with grapes - as there is not necessary to cook the grapes for red wine. 2) If i do not use black tea, will the taste be really much different? 3) Why is lemon needed - if not use, will it cause any different in the taste? 4) If using all brown sugar ( 1Kg ) will give a darker color is fine for me - but will all brown sugar gives a better taste than using white sugar ? 5) How many grams of yeasts did you use ? - is it important on the grams? i have a different kind of yeasts - I feel it should be the type of yeasts that matters in term of giving a different favour - but still let me know the gram - i try to use same as you - i am a beginner ! 6) Why add the packet of yeast into a cup of strawberry juice first .. and let it ferment then pour into the whole bucket of strawberry juice? .. Can we just add the packet of yeast directly into the bucket of strawberry juice ? (as we do in most wine fermentation, eg: red wine) Thanks!
@Spectacular-cuoredicioccolato6 жыл бұрын
1) it's better to cook the strawberries or at list reach the boiling point to kill the yeast on them 2) 3) the taste not but help to preserve it. 4) yes you can use it. I prefer too
@Spectacular-cuoredicioccolato6 жыл бұрын
5) yes it's the tipe of yeast that matter, 3 or 4 gram are sufficient. 6) I prefer prepare the starter. when they are strong you add the yeast in the fermenter. But you can add directly too. It's up to you 😉

Pretty much answered my question And i just started my own, using grapes. 1 kg grapes, added with 1 kg granulated sugar, then added about 700ml water. Mixed it thoroughly, and then add about 1/3 tablespoon sacharomices yeast. But one thing i missed, i saturated the sugar with water, heat it a bit for faster mixing. So i just pour the sugar water to the crushed grapes, then i dont let the mixture cool down. I just pour down the yeast directly. Is it okay??

Love the way you say “spectacular”😂❤️ I have a question about that if i want to make a large amount of strawberry wine, what is the quicker way? It takes a looot of time if i want to make something about +20 kilograms of strawberries. Is there any way?🤔
@Spectacular-cuoredicioccolato4 ай бұрын
Same way, there is not shortcut. The first time try with small amount
@swiperfox31456 жыл бұрын
If I were to do it, I would: 1) (after boiling) put the strawberries in the blender. This way, every part, inside and outside, will be fermented equally 2) (after 3 weeks of fermentation) transfer and filter the wine into a same-sized container. Use a handkerchief to filter the wine from the pulp. Squeeze the handkerchief to extract the remaining wine from the pulp. (The extracted wine is still cloudy at this point) *NOTE: A small thin cloth (handkerchief) will let you collect as much wine as possible. Because... if you use a thick towel, much wine will be IN the towel 3) Wait a few days and the wine will get clearer, sediments will be at the bottom. Siphon out the clear wine (into bottles) except the bottom part. (There's still drinkable wine in the bottom part, don't waste it) (you may want to add some sugar (about 10 grams per liter) into those bottles if you want the wine be sweeter and sparkling.) 4) Slowly and carefully, pour into a small wide-mouth jar the remaining liquid... with as little sediments as possible. (the remaining liquid is a bit cloudy at this point) 5) Wait again a few more days and the wine in the small jar will get clearer, sediments will be at the bottom. Use a syringe and its needle, slowly extract the remaining clear liquid. Either drink it (REMOVE THE NEEDLE FIRST) ...or put it with the rest on the wine. (Then throw out the sediments) 6) ENJOY!

So blending the strawberries will release a lot of bitterness from the seeds. Straining the liquid can also over oxidise the wine though won't matter as much if your drinking it young. I would reccomend putting the strawberries in a mesh bag and just removing them when they are extracted.

Hi Andrea, I made this following the instructions. I left in primary 1 week and secondary 22 days as I was away. I was so sure it was done I filled up my bottles and took a gravity sample late. I was surprised to see gravity of only 1030. Temp has been about 19-20c. So two questions - any idea why the fermentation stalled or went slowly? It tastes fine and is a bit sweet. Lastly, should I be worried about bottled exploding as I put in priming sugar. Thank you.

Hi I just came across this video and this wine looks "superb" but I'm curious as you say you use 4 liters of water, according to other videos, you should not add much water as this will dilute the strawberry wine too much and you will have just a water/sugar wine with only a hint of strawberries! Hi, does it matter what kind of brew yeast we use? and do we have to calculate initial gravity for this recipe? because you already have calculated it. Also, do we have to sanitize the equipment? and do both fermenter have air lock? Thanks
@cgavin14 жыл бұрын
The exact kind of yeast is in his other video (watermelon wine) - but any yeast will work fine. If making wine, use wine yeast etc. YES you must always steralise brew equipment AND bottles. Don't use any in-brew chemical, just use a steri-tablet when you wash everything before you begin. YES both fermenter have airlocks. The only difference between first and second fermenter is the tap to easily separate the wine from the sediment. No syphoning required that way. Less mess. If you want less strong wine then use less sugar in initial fermentation stage. His other videos show rough figures to use for kvass/beer strength brew. 😁👌

Aloha! I’m in Hawaii and just bottled this strawberry wine. I will leave it in the bottles for a couple weeks like you recommend, but I did try a little bit today. It tastes mostly right, but there is definitely a slight yeasty aftertaste😭 what do you think causes that? I live in a warm tropical climate so I’m wondering if maybe it’s too warm? Maybe I bought the wrong kind of yeast? Any advice would be appreciated🙏 love your videos!!

One question, after transferring wine in the bottles with sugar to make it sparkling don’t you suggest dipping these bottles in boiling water ( after few days) to kill yeast?

Grazie mitico!
