Don’t stress over getting a job, before the pandemic I applied for 13 jobs and only got called for one interview. They selected someone else. I was employed at the time but I really needed to get out of that toxic work environment. Lockdown was a blessing for me because I didn’t have to drag myself out of bed to go to a job with people I hated being around. I decided to do something bold and scary, apply to one job that I really wanted and believe that it was mine. I applied in March 2020, had my first interview in September, didn’t hear anything, got called back for a second interview in November, offered the job in December. I started this great job in 2021 and I still love it two years later. I was a little concerned about the pay cut I took but in just two years I’m making what I was making at the job I left. It wasn’t easy being patient waiting on this job but it was well worth it because I gained the career I was meant to have. I know the same will happen for you and everyone else out there searching 🙏🏽 Best wishes to you ❤

girl don't worry, i feel the same struggle about job searching. i've been looking for a job for over a year and i blame it on a) being traumatized from a toxic work environment and thus b) being more picky with where i want to interview. i'm so close to just finding a reg hourly job until i find a full-time job that i know i'll be happy with because the last thing i want is to find a 9-5 that i'm not happy with, AGAIN.

I’m in the same boat. I’ve had to leave jobs and gotten let go cause I wasn’t a good fit. So I’m picky and also frustrated cause a lot of these companies literally pay nothing.

Hi Kristee, I want to say a big thank you; my partner passed away in November of 2022 and I'm in the throes of grief along with suffering PTSD caused by the trauma of his passing. I'm saying thank you because it has been impossible for me to feel any hope since and your words have really resonated with me today. I'm very much one of the silent listeners when it comes to KZbin, but had to say thank you for the reminder. I hope March is kind to you

Oh my, i'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my partner in Dec 2017 and it broke me I just started dating again this year, I know how hard it may seem right now but I promise it does get easier. I know its cliche to say but it does. It wont always be easy there will be days you cant get out of bed, days you think of them and cry, times you wanna send them a message and cant but there will also be amazing days. There will be days you laugh with friends, accomplish goals, and live an amazing life. I hope you find a bit of peace soon, please remember healing isnt a straight line so those bad days are needed just as much as the good ones so please dont be hard on yourself about it. Wishing you nothing but the best.

The convo about job searching when you've been doing it for a while struck me. I've been looking and applying for months while having people in my ear basically telling me I'm not trying hard enough and man has it been hard. The fine line between telling myself I know I'm doing all that I can, and beating myself up for not being where I want to be at the moment. Thank you for making the conversation so open and casual because it really does help! ❤️

Wow Kristee at 23:03 that sentence genuinely made me cry. I have depression pretty bad due to chronic health issues and have always struggled with just everything whether it was jobs, school ,friendships etc. I was recently broken up with because of my health issues WHILE i was having a flare up and I have basically been in bed crying the past few days and it sucks, gosh it sucks so much. I just felt like I had no hope, no chance of being happy because of something I cant even control and hearing you say that after thinking about it was like wow....I needed to hear that. That hope isnt gonna magically appear I need to create it, and yes its a horrible, long, lonely process but it needs to happen. Thank you for saying what you did.

I’m glad you are excited about the opportunity and know you will do your best on your application- if you haven’t already- you should also utilize the power of your network! If you happen to have previous colleagues or folks who know your work, ask them to submit a referral alongside your app.

So crazy because in church yesterday the message was titled “Doubt is a Dead End”. Essentially like, we can read in the Bible where Jesus performed miracles so why do we not believe he can help us with whatever battle we’re walking through? And that remaining negative and doubtful will shape your mind like that.
