Well thank God for Brian Setzer! This album made me feel so alive and so happy I still say he's one of the most underrated and underappreciated love this music makes my freaking day he made the 50s more interesting more fun and more hardcore he added so much to it

These Hootenanny festivals were SO GREAT... reg tic was $45 BUT for $100 you could get a backstage pass. Hang with band members under trees (shade from summer So. Cal. sun) benches to sit on under them. Private bathrooms (no waiting in big lines for outhouses) AND...F'n FREE BOOZE! (all that for only $100! Just $50 more for a VIP tic then a reg tic. TRY to come close to a deal like that nowadays!) BUT... what I've never understood is this, The Cats for this reunion show did 18 shows. This one then off to Europe the next day for the next 17. They recorded all 17 of those shows (one was the Rumble in Brixton DVD too) the Munich show sound was bad so they didn't use it, but did release the other 16 as Imports and a couple of them as Domestics (I have all 16) BUT... (the part I never understood) So they know their doing a reunion tour, plan on recording all the Europe shows (one as a DVD too) but you DON'T record the FIRST show of that reunion tour!? I wondered that for 15 years till I saw this on KZbin last year. Then it made me wonder "WHY did it take 15 years to release it? (maybe a bootleg of it turn up) Anyway... (THUMBS UP) to Surf Dog Records for somehow getting their hands on this recording and releasing it, but... (THUMBS DOWN) for not planning on recording & releasing it with all the rest in the first place. (here is that first reunion Hootnanny show... and YOU BET that I was front row centre!)kzbin.info/www/bejne/hnbcc6yGjat5o7s
