It is no wonder that the Rolling Stones, Zep, The Who, and many others took strongly to them and went to their shows. This is exactly the kind of music that they were listening to and doing when they began and was always a big influence on them all. The Stay Cats did it so well and so authentically. They should have been a bigger commercial success.

Yes I know it did, and Bill Haley and the Comets started rock'n'roll in May 1954, but rock'n'roll wasn't popular until 1955, and it became fully popular in 1956, then Carl Perkins started rockabilly music in 1955, yes rock'n'roll came from blues, and most of the rock'n'roll from 1955-1964 had that blues sound in it, but I wouldn't say the song rock around the clock by Bill Haley and the Comets from May 1954, has that blues sound in it.
