Tiger JK (who is indeed the one you pointed out) is considered one of the pioneers, or the godfather of Korean Hip-Hop with his former group Drunken Tiger and alongside his wife Yoon Mirae (though her most recent stuff has been ballads and soundtracks for Korean dramas). If you want to check his stuff out, I recommend listening to Monster by Drunken Tiger, because this song (Topline) is kind of a (very loose) hommage to that song. A more recent one by Tiger JK as a soloist is "Love Peace", that he recorded in reaction to rising hate against Asian people during the pandemic. And if you want to go back to 90s Drunken Tiger, you could look for Kid from Korea for example. Tiger JK was born in Korea but grew up in the USA and was involved in the hip-hop scene in L.A. in the early-mid 90s, before moving back to Korea. He is one of the people who introduced rap into the Korean hip-hop scene, because in the early 90s, hip-hop culture got introduced to Korea through breakdance first, and due to the different structure of these languages, rapping in Korean needed a different approach to rhyme schemes and lyricism from English. So, Stray Kids are featuring a true legend on this song!

Thank you for the reaction! Yes that is Tiger JK, he’s a legend. The rapper whose flow you liked (with the blonde hair and fur coat is Hyunjin. He has a really versatile rap style, but lately he’s been doing that lazy style, inflection heavy rapping.

S-Class was the title track, and this one is a B-sde. God's Menu for sure. Maniac, Thunderous, Back Door, Venom, Domino and Easy are the big big ones. Hall of Fame, Item, and Super Bowl are other B-sides from this new album that are worth a listen even though they don't have MVs. There are 8 members of Stray Kids, the rest were back up dancers. They range in age from 22-25, so definitely a very young group. They are self produced. Bang Chan (the oldest, the leader, Australian), has over 150 song credits to his name already. He makes up the producing line called 3Racha along with Changbin and Han (first two rappers in this). Oh, if you like rap-heavy ones, Heyday, 3Racha and Muddy Water are rap-heavy unit songs (ones that are only a few of the members).

Stray Kids have been around for a little over five years, but "God's Menu" was the one that seems to have been a turning point in their popularity. Tons of great songs from before "God's Menu"...there just weren't as many people listening back then. "God's Menu" exploded their recognition. In fact, it's usually the first (or one of the first) that reactors watch when they are introduced to Stray Kids. That's probably why so many thought that it was the song you may have had queued up a year ago. Stray Kids are known for having a wide variety of styles. Whenever you think you know what to expect, they hit you with something you never saw coming. They enjoy pushing the envelope and being experimental. And if you check out the English version of their lyrics, you'll find that many times the lyrics have deeper meanings that can sometimes be interpreted in different ways. For instance, "Red Lights" (a song done by just two of the members) on the surface appears to be about an obsessive sexual relationship...but the guys have said that it is more about inner obsession. Both guys who are in the video can be obsessive to a fault about their work. Both have been known to stay up all night working on something and can't stop until they get it right, even though they know that they should stop to eat and sleep. Their music has been called "noisy" by some haters. But they will take the hate and criticism and use it to their advantage. When they were called "noisy", they released an album called "NoEasy". When haters get on social media and try to bring them down, they just smile and release a song called "Cheese". Another album is called "Oddinary"...because who wants to be ordinary? Many of their lyrics also talk about how unique they are. "God's Menu", "S Class", and "Topline" happen to be a few of these. I just discovered you, so I don't know if you ever look at the lyrics of the songs in your reviews, but if you do, I suggest you do yourself a favor and just watch the video first, then go back and watch it again with the subtitles. Stray Kids always have so much going on in the videos, it's hard to pay attention to the subtitles at the same time. Bang Chan is the leader of the group (the one in white who said "we don't give a f***" before the hand went over his mouth) and they were all hand-picked by him...something virtually unheard of in the Kpop industry. Even before they debuted, Bang Chan had a small group of buddies he wrote songs with (those members joined him in forming Stray Kids). The pre-debut group called themselves "3Racha", so if you see videos labeled "3Racha", it's the same guys. These three are the original "rap line" and are responsible for writing and producing most of the Stray Kid's songs, but lately, the other members have been starting to dabble in songwriting too. All the guys have also progressed to the point where they don't have a true "rap line" or "vocal line" anymore. Honestly, they are all excellent at both! So....what should you listen to? Some of my favorites are Thunderous, Miroh, Heyday, All In, Easy, Maniac...and if you liked the guy with the black cowboy hat (Changbin), he did a collab with a couple of other rappers called "Mirror, Mirror" that you might enjoy. Welcome to the fandom!

I'll add my voice to Backdoor, God's Menu, Thunderous, Maniac, Venom, Miroh, Freeze as good places to start, but I'll enjoy watching you react to any Stray Kids songs /MV's 😊 They have an extensive catalogue of sings out, and I like them all pretty much 😊 But of course so e are more hard-hitting than others. In case you don't know, there are lyric videos of almost all their songs (if not all), with translated lyrics. They often also highlights who is singing /rapping each part. Just in case you want to dive deeper into the lyrics. Have fun 😊
