Great reaction I love how you picked up on synthesizer reminds me a bit of the 80's pop sound. I'd love to know your thoughts on the song Venom and Muddy Water also Charmer.

Off topic but I’m pretty sure the song you were looking for was naughty girl by Beyoncé😂

They dropped the MV for Venom as well, you both should check that one out if you get the chance. The whole album slaps! They went off this comeback!

Nice reaction! While the vocals do take a bit of a secondary lead, it allows us to focus on the production and composition of the track. Bang Chan, Han and Changbin worked in the track along with Versachoi. These boys are so ridiculously talented, from lyrics to vocals to production, I love how much they really own their sound! Micah, I liked seeing you on the screen along with the Drew. Really good vibes back and forth. 👌🏾

Micah, I get what you said about it having a nostalgic RnB kinda sound, that made sense to me...It reminded me of some of Ryan Leslie's older stuff. Also, I think the high note at the end is sung by Bang Chan (there's a live performance they did on KBS Radio where you can see him sing it). Loved the reaction as always, gonna go watch the others now!

Ahh glad someone else got it! Yeah Ryan Leslie vibes for sure!

I get what you meant about it resolving differently at the end would feel better but I think it suits considering the whole song is about insanity and discomfort. Thematically it suited even if it wasn't the most rewarding. Excited to see reacttotheks thoughts on this. Also I Jisung is my favorite vocalist in SKZ as the main rapper and producer and I just think that's hilarious but also why he's ZE BIASSSSS
@margoo31262 жыл бұрын
I actually think that the frustration you're getting at the end is made on purpose ! As the song is about not being afraid of your inner maniac as everybody is odd is their own way, the all point of the song is to be odd. We know that when they have a concept for a song they take it all the way. They actually did the same with venom, when I first listened to it without the subtitles I was like "oh ok you're ending it like that ?" and then with the subtitles it all made sense as what they were doing ! Anyway, that's a bit of long explanation but that's my take on what they were doing here, not dismissing what you thought of the song in anyway though ! Loved your reaction as always !

@@Koko3op I think part of it to is that, as I'm sure you've noticed, K-Pop has a tendency sometimes to end songs in a way that makes you want to immediately play it again. I personally agree that a little something to put that last chours after that build up over the top was missing. Some kind of riser/drop sound or maybe beefing up the belted vocal there like you said in the video. I think it would have helped too because the chorus choreo there is them going harder too so i think it would have benefitted from some kind of extra flair in the production for that last chorus. It only stands out for me a bit because the rest of the song is so so good. They kind of deny you that satisfactory ending a little bit so you go back and play the song again to hear the big bombastic chorus again. I've noticed a good portion of K-Pop songs that end abruptly like this or end softly after being very big and energetic, they tend to also be ones that make me want to play it again right after (songs getting shorter and shorter as an overall trend is to induce multiple plays too). Like a really good and intense, but short, roller coaster.

I love this mv. They really are into being the people the world wants them to be and then the world that truly reflect what they are as Maniacs. I love the wild hair and the fiery eyes and those deep voices on the drop. The rapping parts really drove it home. Well done Stray Kids.

Thanks Again Micah and Drew. When I first heard it. I thought of Beyoncé "Naughty Girl". When you play it at .75x speed, it's so close but obviously deeper sounding to compliment Felix's divine voice🥰
@lenkswhite30622 жыл бұрын
people really shocked when the song just end like that, but for me , bangchan, han and changbin such a brilliant song writers and song makers , people always expect something from them, like maybe could end the song well, but they always end like there's still a missing part. skz always give us a song that we will not expect , they will make sure that before we listen to their song, we bring our expectations with us, but when we play the song, our expectations are totally wrong
@valoriec2 жыл бұрын
I think, from watching their performance of this, that Bang Chan is the high note at the end, as well as the underlying singing during the chorus (Cant' stop the smoke). I'm so proud of these boys. They wrote and produced this track--well, the whole album. And the songs are genius! There's an album intro video where each member talks about the song(s) they wrote the lyrics for (Bang Chan wrote most of Maniac), and it shows Changbin in the production seat when they're recording, and it shows Lee Know, Felix, and Hyunjin creating the choreo for the songs from the album. I'm just so proud of them. Love them! They're so young, yet so talented.

I really enjoy your reactions. At about 8:40 when you're talking about the ending and how you wish they would have stacked bang chans high note with a harmony, i think that would be cool if it was just the song they were worried about. But Stray Kids almost ALWAYS sing live, unless they are sick or the choreo doesnt allow for them to sing at the same time, so i'm pretty sure that when they are creating most of their songs they're very conscious of being able to perform it live with almost the exact same sound. Their live stages are so impactful!
