The survival show is actually one of the hardest things to watch. I mean like it's brutal, really. When you are a new stay, you become enthralled in their performances and stuff, their artistry and how distinct they're in terms of music. But, then comes a point where, you must watch where it all started. Their humble beginnings. It makes you appreciate them not just as artists but even more as people. JYP himself said that they needed to debut together as nine (back then) because he felt that they move like a single organism. Those were his exact words. And its true, you cannot imagine skz without any one of them. Even when lee know got eliminated, he still came back to teach them the choreo when he had no obligation to do so and felix, my God chan promised to never leave him behind and he never did, you know. When you see survival shows , sometimes there's this competition aspect to pit the members against each other. But skz's survival show is one I feel that it was them against the world. They fought like tooth and nail not just to debut , but to be with each other. That's why i feel their bond is really different and so beautiful and it becomes even more emotional when you learn chan selected the members himself. Lee know actually says in a recent interview that he wasnt sad at the thought that he wont able to debut but rather, he was sad it wouldn't have been with stray kids. So, we get it that it might be more than emotional but we're right by watching it with you, Melanie. And I really love watching your reactions to them not only because you're reacting to them but it's also like a form of therapy really. Like, I feel by watching you react, I'm now even more closer to them than I've ever been, you know. You make me appreciate them a little more than yesterday. So, thank you so much. 💛😊

The first video "room" was filmed in February 2019. Then Felix had bad Korean, he started learning it from scratch in 2017. The second video is January 2022. Felix himself told the Stay on Vlive that without knowing the language you can lose confidence in yourself and he accepted himself as a slow learner. The first years - everyone speaks quickly and Felix just looks, smiles, follows the emotions of the members and hugs everyone. Back then, it was easiest for Felix to communicate with Lee Know. Felix recently named Lee Know - my precious cat-hyung. 🐱

I don't think I have seen that part? Ep 4 ended with him being eliminated but didn't show much after, kind of left it on a cliff hanger! Ahhh I know the next episode is going to be sooo hard to watch!

That was the first and the only time lee know cried on camera so no matter how many times i watch it i can’t stop myself from crying

@@melaniereactsyes, it's true he hasn't cried since his elimination. lee know is like one of the strongest pillars for the kids. Him and seungmin especially. Like we say the day lee know cries it's over for us. In the concerts , sometimes it gets emotional for the boys and for us too, especially that one concert after woojin left the group, it was such a hard time for all of us. Probably the most brutal after the survival show. And that was the last time we saw lee know get a little emotional after so long since his elimination. But he never cried. It's not that he doesn't want to but for lee know he says that when everyone is emotional and cries and stuff, there should be a person to comfort them , right? Lee know is that person. He doesn't show it so that when the members are down, he can comfort them. You can also see when on their very first music show win, everyone was crying hard but lee know stood there just to wipe away their tears, literally. That's why we say the day we see him cry again, it's over. 🙈

Hyunjin isn’t as good at verbally expressing himself, he is more of an action person, and does he ever protect and dote on Felix. He gives him gifts , always watches out for him when Felix has to read or speak Korean (there are some recent videos of Hyunjin helping Felix read comments from fans), takes a billion pictures of him, draws him, makes sure he has food. Felix in turn is very vocal about how much Hyunjin means to him. They are really opposite in terms of their personalities, but they’ve really adapted to each other. Felix has said Hyunjin was his biggest supporter when he started baking and his encouragement is what kept Felix from giving up. They really are each other’s biggest fan. Hyunjin is really close with everyone, but he calls Felix, Seungmin and I.N “his babies”. They are all so precious

@@melaniereacts it’s adorable. He’s said it 4 or 5 times since they split up the dorms. He calls the other dorm “the babies” and that he goes over to say good night to the babies and tucks I.N until he falls asleep. It’s literally the sweetest. It’s amazing how he can be so aggressive on stage but a literal marshmallow off stage. He and Lee Know are also extremely close and a Stay asked if Lee Know was part of the babies and Hyunjin said yes it was his baby Lee Know.

1:16:26 honestly, I teared up as Felix said that words to Hyunjin so out loud, cause it's really not that common that two good friends openly can say it without ppl twisting words or take words out of context. They are so naturally closed, their friendship/brotherhood is so valuable and precious. Even I know this guys almost 3 years, and saw all their hardship and watched almost all available skz content, cause they are only group I stan... that words made my tear up. I hope they forever stay friends/family. Love Hyunjin and Felix so much. Stray Kids are not just artists, they are not ppl who consume your time but really give you inspiration on daily basis. And they really care for their fans, Hyunjin did new Hyunjin Counseling Room just a few hours ago hearing all concerns/worries of stays. It's beautiful that they don't get used to love they get but still appreciate it and want give it back. I really love these guys!!! Stray Kids you're the best

As someone who has been a STAY since the beginning, even before our fandom had a name and as someone who watched the survival show as it was airing, I completely understand that feeling. I remember going to VLive sometimes and seeing fans still fighting for Minho to come back, signing petitions to send to JYP and emailing them. At some point I was tired and afraid that our boys had to suffer through so much and seeing the difference now that it's been years I just feel relieved, like I'm grateful those hardships are now in the past. I remember their first live all together after the survival show and before their debut, how I woke up at 6am because it was scheduled and it ended up being at that hour in my country and just crying out of happiness on how happy they all seemed. Even watching the show since the beginning, I'll say that not once have I watched it after it ended. In all the years I've been on this journey with SKZ I have never dared to watch it again, it's just so painful and even more now that it's been so long. Brings back those memories haha. Many things have happened and the boys have grown so much, I am proud of them for where they are now but seriously the survival show for most stays is something you watch once and never again.

They had been living together for over 3 years, in one apartment with 3 bedrooms (Hyunjin with Seungmin and Minho, Changbin with Chan and Felix and Han with Jeongin) Only recently in October 2021 they split into 2 apartments (3racha + Hyunjin in one apartment and Minho, Felix, Seungmin and Jeongin in second apartment) where each one of them have their own room at last. Stayville was in tears that they got separated but at the same time we're so happy that finally they have their own space! And they visit each other often because apartments are not that far away from each other so it's ok. Hyunjin said that their apartment is the artistic struggle apartment cause 3racha always makes songs and he always paints (he has his own artistic studio at the balcony and 3racha are always working out on the gym equipment) and the other apartment is babies' apartment + Minho 😋

Honestly having their own space would be SOOOO necessary. No matter how close you are, you neeeeeeeed your own time otherwise you would just get so frustrated at the smallest things. It would make them appreciate each other so much more 😍😍😍

i watched the show while it was coming out so alkjdfhskj i was there for the NINE OR NONE! 9-2=0!!! and was a firm believer that jyp wouldnt eliminate them and it was only empty threats and then he did. even then i still didnt believe he would just throw out 2 members like that (especially felix since felix was really popular internationally and was bringing new fans) so i never processed the eliminations luckily. and then he brought them back and i was like I KNEEW IT I KNNNNEWWWW ITT!!!!! 2kids room is such a beautiful sort of content, so raw. even those these boys say they dont express their feelings towards each other much, they dont realise that they constantly express their feelings. theyve confessed to each other and made sure they knew they love and are proud of each other constantly but i guess 2kids is a good time for them to just directly say it in a more intimate space.

Ur long intro honestly is the best part. I love when stays speak their heart out about what Skz or their music make them feel. About the survival show, "I'm gonna not let u behind" & "this time when I did my mistake, was it because u're not there to hold my hand" is basically imprinted in my mind. The show gives us the idea that skz was formed differently unlike other survival shows as they competed together not with each other, they still feel nervous alone but together they're so phenomenol. Skz has improved so much over the years. I feel so proud when I watch their older clips. Today they released unveil track "lonely st." Oddinary is already leaving me stunned. watching Minho's elimination is just unbearable for me... something breaks in me when I see tears in his eyes, so I never rewatch the survival show. The way Minho was smiling through his tears and apologizing for not being good enough... damn... I hated JYP so bad at that moment! 😡 And another moment where it looked like Minho might have been crying was in front of the fans after there became 8 members in SKZ and it was clear that the group's continued existence was in big question... even just remembering these two moments brings tears to my eyes 🥺

​@@melaniereacts you know, the departure of the 9th member was the moment of a split in the fandom and there are still conflicting opinions on this matter ... this is the most painful topic that is difficult to understand, even if you dive into all the old content, so now everybody is trying to avoid the topic, and if STAYs talk about it, then it is in that delicate version, as you do (that the members went through hard times). But yes, it was 100% the moment when everything could collapse. And the fact that they managed to survive this and soar above the ashes is really a miracle... because no matter how brilliant and unique you are, scandals in the KPOP industry (even small or completely false ones) can bury anyone.

And the Kids Room episodes are super fun to watch because you get to see dynamics you might not always see as well as seeing how much they care about each other. Jeongin graduation took part in the middle of the covid pandemia so the members couldn't attend to the ceremony. So they did that part on Skz code to celebrate his graduation and all of them wore school uniforms like Jeongin

totally wasnt waiting for a new skz reaction video update from you 😂im so happy that you have started on 2 kids room. i love how the eps really show us their bond and gives them an outlet to speak to each other face to face. changbin really impresses me with his commentary on these eps and demonstrate how much he watches over them from behind and understand each of them so well. even some pairs may not have as serious of a talk compare to the latest felix x hyunjin ep but you can really see how much they care for each other. OT8 soulmates ❤not sure if you have already known but they recently split into 2 dorms and got their own individual rooms back around oct-nov 2021 so they are no longer all sharing the same dorm anymore that's why felix was talking about decorating his room. it was a sad day for stays until we found out their new dorms are like probably just side by side LOL i would love to watch the survivor show with you but i dont think i can bear watching it 😭i've seen clips here and there and they are so devastating. maybe one day when i want to drown myself in sorrow 😅

@@melaniereacts especially if you seen the state of their old dorm, i think it was like a 2/3/3 sharing room system with bunk beds? it was so messy and cramped and they have no space for their things. there was a part in one of IN’s vlog and you catch a glimpse of their doorway (?) it’s overflowing with shoes everywhere hahaha most of them said they are really happy with their own rooms but they missed being in the same dorm sometimes 🥺 they do seems to go over each other place often to eat or hang out together haha they mentioned they used to get into fights when younger (especially han probably has fought with all members before 😂) but now they know how to avoid each other when they sense them in a mood.

- Yes, it's his real grad celebration. They went to Hyunjin's, but when I.N's came a year later, pandemic had hit, so they couldn't attend. This was their public makeup celebration. - Notice when Lee Know's turn at the dance started, the captions said "Good at loopholes," which is what I mentioned previously about his approach to games. In Korean, when it's not a professional situation where they're introducing him on stage or something (in which case, they say 아이엔), they call him 이엔아 or 이엔이 or occasionally 정인 (though that last one is fairly rare these days; we've heard his non-SKZ friends call him 정인, and he's mentioned that it sounds weird to him if the non-SKZ friends call him 이엔[아] and that it sounds equally weird if SKZ calls him 정인). He follows the same patterns when introducing or talking about himself -- I.N in English, 아이엔 in Korean professional situations, 이엔 in Korean casual situations (lyrics, talking to STAY, etc). If you relisten to Maknae on Top, you'll hear Chan call him I.N, and I.N call himself 이엔. The English and both Korean versions originate from the same place: the anglicized "in" in Jeongin. - We theorize that the creepy ending on the graduation ep is because of their storyline (which leaks out far beyond just their MVs). Some people will confidently announce this to you as though it's confirmed fact, but it's just a popular theory -- as usual, SKZ didn't bother to clue us in. That said, it's the popular theory because it does make sense. At this point, the versions of I.N had been switched in the multiverses of the MVs a few months earlier, so it's possible that the I.N all alone at the very end is the I.N version in the other timeline, for example, and the ominous phrases were what _that_ version of I.N experienced in _his_ graduation episode, or something along those lines. There's a separate theory about Neverland and SKZ dying if I.N ages and blah blah blah that I don't buy because I don't find it a logical fit with SKZ (mentioning the word Neverland once doesn't make it the core of their existence), who does _creepy,_ not _"we're all gonna die"_ (really, could you see emotional support kpop boy Chan approving that concept and potentially f*cking with impressionable STAYs' psyches?). But to each their own.

There was an interesting comment on my page about the creepy ending. I can't remember it word by word but she/he/they think that it's a clap back at stays who continuously tell I.N not to grow up and to stay a baby forever etc... and this was their way of showcasing how strange and weird that is to say to an adult male essentially. I don't know, she explained it better. Don't know if that's the case at all, was just an interesting comment to read.

Wanted to check if someone else explained I.N's name and I see you did! I'll add that they also frequently refer to him as "Innie" and Idk if that's like I.N-ie or (Jeong)innie, but it's cute too. I'm aware that the "ie" that's often added to names in Korean isn't the same as the "ie" diminutive used so commonly in Australian English, but as an Aussie it's hard to separate the feeling it invokes lol.

I understand what you mean about the survival show. It really does put you through every single emotion, especially watching for the first time. I cried right along with you and I've seen if a few times now. There's some really great and iconic moments ahead and the show leaves you with a really good feeling by the end so you can at least feel like it was worth it. Just do it at your own pace. Don't feel like you have to force yourself to finish it just bc ppl want you to or ask you to. I like that you're doing previous 2KR coupled with the new 2KR, it kinda shows you the growth in the friendship & bonds between the duos. One thing you'll notice is that Changbin is literally the SKZ encyclopedia lol. They all know each other so well but with Changbin its like a different level. Also, SKZ Code 4 & 5 go together, 6 & 7, 8 & 9, 10-12, 13 is standalone, and 14 & 15 go together. 8-13 are some of the best imo, it was after they took a break from the series so they came back with a bang

Ahhhh seeing this. I cant believe it's been a year since his hiatus Around this time last year was hell and traumatizing. I was not emotionally prepared. Everyone was crying on the timeline, desperate for some news that everything will be ok. There were So many Articles all portraying hyunjin negatively. Haters everywhere wanting him to leave and skz was not allowed to post or even communicate with stays for a few weeks. No news and nobody saw him for months. It was a really dark time and everyone was just waiting and praying that hyunjin will still come back.🥺 I believe he was talking abt that time in two kids room because he cant really address it yet. Hyunjin is a really soft and emotional person. He's always the first one to cry. So i can't imagine how it must've been for him. It's good that he has felix and the kids to comfort him during that time. Maybe that's also one of the reasons why the fandom strengthen because we just really want them to be happy after everything they've been through. They recently released a song "#LoveSTAY" it has a video and it was wrtitten by Hyunjin. There were references of what he felt when he was on hiatus. So we understood even if he cant really talk about that time, he expressed it with the song. Hope you can react to it. it was so beautiful💗

I've only seen compilation parts of the survival show... and watching Lino cry was more than enough there and then for me, I cried like a baby and I NEVER want to see that again... none of them, not like that, but not Lino never him, because he NEVER cries... ever... the others do cry when they're overwhelmed - mostly those are not sad tears but they just get emotional by the love of STAY or missed STAY so much and they're so happy to see them again... Lino never once cried while the others did... And it's already making me cry when they cry for these reasons, but if I see them cry because of GRIEF I... nah, I can't so you are much braver than I am... They call them "이엔아" because when you read I.N in korean way, it is "이엔". Jeongin get his stage name from the end of his name. Anyways the creepy ending correlates over i.n being a clone and he's with the real stray kids. The glitch follows him.

Ahhh you’re back already with another 1 hour+ SKZ upload 🥺🥺🥺🥺 you’re becoming one of my favorite reactors and I totally understand how you feel about the survival show, the kids crying and you crying on camera. It’s super hard but I’m proud of you for pushing through because you’re 💯💯💯💯 right, even though I’ve watched the show a dozen times and I KNOW they all make it…. I still bawl my eyes out every time. We are all right there with you hun ❣️❣️❣️ I can only imagine if we stanned them back then omg I would have DIED if they were eliminated and I had to wait whole weeks for the next episodes to come out to find out what happened 😱😭 It makes me even more mad, because I have a lowkey feeling the whole thing was planned by JYP to generate hype in the show and get people freaking out so they watch it. I think he didn't tell the boys (those emotions look far too real to be ~16 year olds acting), but the whole kick them out, make them study and "improve" for a couple weeks, then allow the fans to "vote" to bring them back during a live show....it just seems waaaaay too planned for me. even though you haven't been a stay that long, you feel the same way we do. but you don't have to worry about whether it's okay to be emotional or if someone is judging you. stay's stick together and we all feel the same when we SKZ are very sad or when the boys cry. we cry at such moments too. and actually it's nice to see that there are other people out there who feel the way we do. if skz hadn't had to take those hurdles, they definitely weren't the people and family they are now. (sorry for my terrible english, i just wanted to tell what's going on inside my head) I think they call i.n as i-yen because it's easier to call??? as you know, i.n have 3 syllables for his name (아이엔) and from what I observed this whole time being a kpop fan, they tend to call someone that has 3 more syllables for their name with just 2 syllables. maybe that's why they call i.n as i-yen 3 syllables : 아-이-엔 (a-i-yen) 2 syllables : 이-엔 (i-yen) same as felix, they call him lix too 3 syllables : 피-릭-스 (pi-lik-seu) 2 syllables : 릭-스 (lik-seu)

I know some STAYs will tell you that the ending of SKZ code episode 3 (the Graduation episode) was because of some connection to their storyline, but as Stay on twitter, I SERIOUSLY believe it’s a subtle clap back to all those psycho fans who want Jeongin to always be a baby. The ending is unsettling and disturbing because of what the members say as a voiceover, which seems to be some comments made by fans at the prospect of their “baby bread” growing up. It’s supposed to show just how creepy their saying is, because if Jeongin never grows up or graduates, he’ll be left all alone while SKZ keep moving forward. Everything they said in the voiceover is basically a quoted comment from other fans. The disturbing atmosphere created helps to emphasize just how wrong this thinking is. Jeongin may be the Maknae, but it’s inevitable that he will grow up. In fact, it’s the fans that need to seriously grow up and accept that. p.s it’s completely okay to cry. We would never judge you. Skz’s survival show hits different because unlike normal shows where it’s one member against another, over here it was literally Stray Kids as a whole vs the world. It makes the entire thing even more emotional, because although this may be a survival show, it’s more like a reality show where you get to know each member and their bonds, and really connect with them on an emotional level. The show really made me appreciate their humble origins, and their entire journey to the top❤️
