I love how Anthony immediately looked past the sexual overtones of this song and really looked deep into the meaning of the song- one of the common things you see in reactions to this song in particular is freaking out over how sexy the song sounds at first listen. Not many people have actually dug further than the original tone of the song and I’m so glad Anthony did that. Red Lights is about obsession and compulsion, how it can negatively effect people (if I’m not mistaken) and since Bangchan is Australian (like me) his English is as good as his Korean, though if you look at interviews of the skz members, they’re all very good with English and most of them can go beyond basic sentences. Both Chan and Felix are Aussie and they’re all so talented. I’m so glad Anthony likes the song cause I do too

What you said is true 100% but Hyunjin has actually said also that, "Regarding the creation of Red Lights, Bang Chan and I wanted to do something sexy/sexual and so we created Red Lights together. It does have a deeper meaning behind the lyrics etc... but originally all we wanted to do was something sexy." So it's not just about obsession/compulsion, it also shows off sexiness too. I'd say it's 75% about obsession/compulsion and 25% about sexiness. One of the best comments was when Hyunjin said this, the rest of the Stray Kids, I think Changbin immediately responded by saying, "Wait, you wanted to do something sexy WITHOUT US?!"

I do not even understand why we have to "look past the sexual overtones" of the song. It is so good because it is sexy, it is so damn good because they found the courage to bring that part of themselves out without any filters. I am extremely happy that they did that and they did it extremely well!

It's funny watching Chan and Hyunjin react to this video on vLive. It's like night and day. Chan gets all embarrassed and hides his face and makes weird screaming noises. Chan has a reputation of being very wild on stage but can't stand watching his "wild" self and hides in a pillow lol Hyunjin's just like "It's not that racey" *plays the video. 30seconds in* "Maybe it's a little racey" And just enjoys the rest of the video like "Yeah, I did that" lol Also, ya did Chan dirty with pausing at 5:50 lol

The tattoos are fake🤣 and im also amazed at how u instantly got it right on the meaning behind the song. Because Red Lights is a sexy song, people tend to not look passed the sexy tone and look into the lyrics which has a deeper meaning. Red Lights talks about your obsession with something. that could literally be with a person or an object or whatever u want it to be (its up to you). But the literal meaning behind the lyrics according to them, is their obsession with their work. even tho they love what they do, it sometimes feel like they are obsessed, that their work has this tight grip around them. there is a series that Stray Kids did when they created the unit songs like discussing what they want the song to be about and even discussed how they want the MVs to look like with the director. Its called 'SKZ Song Camp: Howl in Harmony'. I believe there are 4-5 episodes. Because Stray Kids is a heavily self-produced group and all members have particpated in the process of writing and/or composed songs besides 3racha, stray kids tends to go into units. Our original units are 3racha, Danceracha and Vocalracha. Since fixed positions are no longer within the group, the members are put into these subunits besides 3racha (since they have been around before skz debuted) to make it easier for newer fans since these are their main focus even tho they are all rounders. but anyway, if im not mistaken, this is the 2nd time they went into sub-units to create songs to put in the album. We Go (3racha), My Universe (Vocalracha ft Changbin) & WOW (Danceracha) which is in the repackage album IN LIFE. Red Lights (Bang Chan, Hyunjin), Surfin' (Changbin, Lee Know & Felix) and Gone Away (Han, Seungmin & I.N) are in their latest 2nd full length album that came out on Aug 23rd called NOEASY (if u say it fast alot, it'll sound like 'NOISY'🤭)

Love how you look at their lyrical meanings, Anthony. Thank you for reacting to BangChan and Hyunjin. They spoke about the meanings in one of the "Howl in Harmony Camp" m/v's. They discussed that it is related to their mutual obsession with perfecting their efforts in music (BangChan is the primary producer of the music of Stray Kids and Hyunjin who was street casted and knew very little about dance till training in the JYP system -he's actually one of the younger members of the group- also writes his own songs and dances) something akin to OCD. Unable to rest till they could finish producing, writing or perfection in dance. 3racha were the first of the groups members (BangChan, Seo Changbin and Han Jisung), with Chani asked by JYP to choose the other group members (unheard of in Kpop).

Christopher (Bang Chan) grew up in Australia, as did Felix. Both are obviously fluent in English, but several members also speak English quite well as well. Oh, one thing about Straykids, they're all able to switch from rapping to singing and vice versa. They have roles, but these are not strict at all as the boys are TALENTED!!! Honestly? The diversity amongst the members is pretty incredible. I REALLY love this group!!!

I think you actually nailed it with "Maybe it's the music talking to them" because uuuh was it Chan? Maybe - said that it's about obsession, compulsion and on the one hand, we clearly have that sexual BDSM theme here, but on the other hand, he mentioned it's their occasional love-hate relationship with making music because they just can't stop producing songs, staying up all night again, going deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole, addicted to it although it sometimes drives them insane. The only one that got it immediately. Their talking about their obsession with being artists. Bang Chan for example doesn’t sleep he works all night and has a habit of forgetting to eat. He knows it’s not good but he loves it and he wants to be great. He can’t breathe without it. In fact the way describes it performing, dancing, singing, and producing is his sustenance like food water and air. He can’t live without it but it’s unforgiving and can be very unhealthy

The whole of the album that this song is on - No Easy - is a a no skip album. You should also check out the other songs, there is a few other sub-unit songs but they are also really good. I highly recommend Cheese and Domino, but if you have time you should listen to them all. There is a few songs on there that are a bit softer but they are good as well :)

Yeah, Bang Chan is the leader and who produces all the beats, lyrics and songs along with 3racha (producer unit of skz) members Changbin and Han. Btw Bang Chan is Australian that's why He uses a lot of english in his lines also there are some of their songs like levanter and double knot which Bang Chan translated in english and then they made videos of them as eng ver.
