Stray Kids may be a game changer for future Kpop idols. First it is a self made group, not lassoed by JYPE. Bang Chan spearheaded his idea and got JYP’s blessing. Because each member was recruited personally by Chan, bond is tight and talent is complementary. Second under JYPE’s new management structure (starting from TWICE), each idol has its own support team. JYP said that this will reduce overhead, save communication time, and make idol’s brand more coherent. It worked wonderfully for TWICE. Stray Kids churning out MVs for every song on LP because the kids came up with concepts. SK’s marketing and production team then OKed it and approved the budget to make it happen. In the future, idols may have to shape their own career path, not passively waiting for the management company to dictate. Got7 started to self manage a couple of years after debuting. TWICE may have some say since debut because the girls can easily convey ideas with their own team. Day6 stepped up in late 2016 by proposing EveryDay6 project (thankfully green lighted). Stray Kids has been proactive in all aspects (writing, arranging, choreography, film making....) before debuting. These kids are goal getters, not one slacker (so far). I wish for the kids to believe in themselves always and the power they generate as a team. Focus on your mission and vision. Continue to mature as a person and learn new skills to bring into the brand. You are here to “stay”.

but in all honesty, i am so proud of stray kids cause not only are they younger than most idol groups but the fact that they can produce their own music at that age is unbelievable. Having a task force team for each group is a brilliant idea. Not only good for kpop purpose, but looking at the business side, it's pure blessing. The artists can keep themselves occupied and develop at the same time. Stray kids was honestly awkward in front of camera back then, but constant exposures make them so professional unlike any rookies. Their growth probably will be massive in a short span if it continues like this. I'm glad the jyp ceo learnt some lessons and did something about it.

I Stan them since predebut, I saw them when they were 9,I saw them when they were 8,I saw them when they were 7 and I also saw them when we finally know they were going to debut with 9 kids,Kim WooJin,Bang Chan,Lee MinHo,Seo ChangBin,Hwang HyunJin,Han JiSung,Lee Felix,Kim SeungMin and Yang Jeong In;I was happy when they released a Mixtape and I watched all their MV's, I waited until they finally release "I Am Not",their album debut, I've been night without sleep watching to their music videos,climbing visits to District 9 and Mirror. I waited for them again, hearing to the same 14 song(+3Racha songs) every single day and night until now, that they released their second mini album "I Am Who". It's been a long time a know them,almost a year,and now I think I can say that I saw them grown up, not only in age but also like a group,they became better and better since I met them. No one may see this comment, but I still have to say that Stray Kids is extremely important to me and will continue to be for a very long time. They're really changing the "idol" concept from someone who seems almost inhuman and far away to a friend who you can lean on for support, who you know will always be there for you and support you even without being able to talk to them. I think that's a mutual feeling between Stays and Stray Kids. I want Stays to support them through all of their hard times and cheer them on as they chase their dreams, because that's exactly what they're doing for us.

Like sometimes we're too hard on ourselves, they tell us to just take it on our pace and not compare with others. Or they tell us about friendship or in Hellevator, they tell us about their struggles and how they're trying to rise above it. Like they're giving us hope while mirroring a lot of our sentiments about ourselves and about our life. They encourage and inspire by telling us that we are not alone and that they understand. I feel like their authenticity comes from the fact that like us, they haven't gotten all their shit together. They also struggle and they're making songs and writing lyrics not only because a lot of people need to hear the message but also to remind themselves of what message they've written in their lyrics when the times get too tough or when they feel like they're not good enough.

I remember hearing people talking about "Hellevator", so I finally decided to look it up and watch it about two weeks after it was released . It's one of the best decisions I've ever made . After watching that and falling in love with their talent but also the story behind their lyrics, I started watching the survival show . I I had only seen a couple episodes so far when Minho was eliminated . I remember crying so hard. I cried even harder for some reason when Felix was eliminated . I couldn't understand why I cared so much then, but honestly, now I do . Even though I had only known about them for about a month, I related to each of them in a different way . They each have their own beautiful and amazing talent and qualities, which I feel is why I got attached to them so quickly . Even being rookies, they became one of my favorite groups out there . They helped me through some tough times . Every time I see ANY of their videos, I either laugh so hard till I cry, become so emotional until I cry, or just watch in amazement at how talented, handsome, and amazing they are . Thank you Bang Chan for leading such a wonderful, amazing group, and thank you JYP for allowing them to all be together . They really are perfect for each other . 7 damn years, y'all. It took Chan a goddamn long time to gather Stray Kids together but hell, it was goddamn worth it! Stray kids was JYP's first and only debuted group that had been formed without JYP's assistance; Chan worked so hard for this y'all! And even if Chan doubted himself on this, JYP picked an amazing person to lead this fun, wacky and inspirational adventure. I personally wouldn't have anyone else lead SK. What started as 1 become 3, and finally 9! Just when Chris thought that he had things under control, both him and the other 8 were put to the test and under pressure. Could you imagine what Chan would've went through? Losing that family he created himself under a competition he didn't have control of?
