Just purchased the Allen Stitchdown (618) in clover Kudu. It’s more pricier ($428) but an incredible deal for all the same reasons as mentioned in the video - excellent workmanship and comfortable.

I hope to own some Kudu leather boots some day. They look fantastic!

I’m very quick to make my purchases. I trust my instincts when it comes to style and for technical details I’ll watch a ton of KZbin videos and then quickly make my mind.

602M fit is really good, they are under $400, leather from a known tannery, solid construction. The last can do ruggaged and casual. What more do you want. The owner Andrew is really cool to talk to and responds to all his emails about sizing and anything else.

I just bought the same boot with the Beaver Fur Kudu leather. I'm entering them into the Stitchdown Patina Thunderdome on 10/1. Love them!

Enjoyed the video, thank you. I've had very good luck with the Parkhurst boots, and this has become one of my favorite makers.

Thanks Tony! I've been really impressed with both of my Parkhursts.

Great review, Lee. I take my time; I tend to leave the site open for a couple of weeks just for comparison against other models I might find interesting. Parkhurst is one of the game-changers out there; I love the Delaware, but for now, it is the only model I own. Chees mate!

Any plans to do a Grant Stone vs Parkhurst video? It would probably be the Allen vs the Diesel don't you think?
@StrayReviews3 ай бұрын
That is a great idea!
@DMorgan773 ай бұрын
@@StrayReviews I haven't tried Parkhurst, partly because as you described inventory has been sketchy at best in the past. However, it's a brand I'm interested in. These look great, and I really want the Diesel in Earth so a comparison would be great.
@StrayReviews3 ай бұрын
@@DMorgan77 The thing about the Diesel is that it's such an easy choice. It has a great fit and profile. The Allen is the same. It just boils down to choice of leather and made in China vs made in Spain.

@@StrayReviews yes I have the Diesel in Crimson and Tan Essex. It's a fantastic boot.

They just added these to their samples and seconds section. Just bought the Allen version, fingers crossed they fit! Been a struggle finding the proper fit with exchanges with Grant Stone. First boots though, looking forward to finding my fit in both brands.

I've found their fit to be pretty accurate. Hopefully they'll serve you well!

I quiet literally laughed out loud when you called me out! I do agree with you, these boots are great and super comfortable. I have been mostly wearing these as my only boots or shoes lately. I wore them for about 14 hours yesterday. I am finding my heals (both boots) are wearing a bit faster than normal on these. I am guess they will wear down like 1/16 of an inch! haha P.S. The Waxy Commander look, feel and texture are really hiding the lose dog scares that they recently took on. The one larger deep one is still very noticeable, but the rest are blending in nicely. And I think with another month or so of wear, the larger one will also disappear into the boots.

😅 I liked them so much that I had to borrow someone else's opinion to put something in the cons column! I'm glad your scratches are fading. A little Otter Wax might camouflage that big scratch a bit.
@jeffgrantMEDIA2 ай бұрын
@@StrayReviews In that case... I'm happy I can contribute! I am going to take your advice and wax them. I just wanted to give them a bit of time to see how they wear in before I did so. They are doing a great job of fading the "scars" on their own.

Definitely sounds like a pretty decent boot especially for that price range. And that's quite a bit of veg tan leather for that price range for how they're made & materials add Red wings or some some of them maybe not iron rangers but a lot of their boots now are being made overseas as well so I mean I think that that is probably a better quality boot than the iron ranger as well just buy the material that goes into it.

Love parkhurts - I see their Niagara as what the Alden Indy should aspire to be. Also have a pair of Allens that I like. Not a fan of toe caps. Nice review.

Thanks Roy! I’m hoping to pick up a pair of Niagaras one of these days.

@@StrayReviews Can't say enough good things about them. Comfortable and look great. As I said, this is what Alden should aspire to with their Indys. I was saving for a pair of Indys when I saw Rose Anvil's review and then Revive's repair of them and went with the Parkhursts. Don't regret it for a second.
