I’ve been watching Poki for so long and I’d say she was my streaming inspiration, I always felt so connected with her in so many ways because i think she’s really relatable and we basically have the same personality! Love her!

NAILED IT! As usual, you broke it down and made it relatable. When I blow up in the art content creation world I owe it all to you and awesome people in SCA!! :)

i’m really happy to see this video acknowledging poki’s success and crediting it to her hard work and dedication. i feel like a lot of people overlook this and forget that she was only 17 when she started streaming and that she’s still only 24 and one of the biggest streamers out there. she’s so smart and kind, and a great role model for other girls 💓💓

You captured Poki's cuteness factor very well, I had the same feeling when I watched a little bit once.

I heard she pretended to be single while she had a boyfriend. If that is true, I'd not call that a genuine person.

even with all of these great points you made, there is left hundreds if not thousands of people who fit the bill and aren't big like poki. imagine playing a game of Guess Who, and you've said "a white female with glasses and a blouse." You might think you've narrowed it down pretty well, but the reality is, you haven't at all. This not being specific enough just points to post ex facto reasoning of her success after the fact. It could just be a statistical anomaly. Somebody is bound to get big, and they may have a power law (aka pareto distribution aka mathew principle) effect. I'm sure there is something that her fans genuinely love, but at the same time, but at the same time, once someone gets big and is known for being big, then people subscribe and watch just to see what the big deal is about. It costs nothing to follow to someone on twitch or subscribe to a channel on youtube, so you might as well. There not being a reason to say no is one reason to keep that subscription / follow.

About relatable, I'm not going to watch or support someone that did something like abused a child or an animal or is just a bad person in general. Theres "blunders" and mistakes that are relatable but some people on twitch and youtube are outright shit people. People don't want to watch someone fake, but they also don't want to watch a screw up.

Here's one the ways I've thought about successful streamers, and you can tell me if you agree. I feel the ones that rise to the top a lot of the times are those with characteristics that can be quickly/easily conceptualized and referenced. When I think of Pokimane: I think, 'The Cutie.' Harris Heller: 'The Cool Guy.' Dr. Disrespect: 'The Badass.' And there a bunch of other kinds of tags I've thought of as I've looked through streams: 'The Bro,' 'The Sweetheart,' 'The Rude Chick,' 'The Hottie,' 'The Lowkey Professor,' and so on. The harder it is for you to pin one of these kinds of labels to a broadcaster, the more difficult it will be for them to stick in the mind of audiences and take off.

Not a fan of her content. But fair play she's making the most of her time in the spotlight

I don't watch Pokimane because none of her content interests me, but I think you've nailed it with your first portion of the video. It's sociology and psychology. People want to find someone that aligns with their interests as much as possible, and the fact cannot be ignored that people flock to her because she's attractive. It's been proven in studies that attractive people have more success in life. Also, there are folks out there that like the idea that someone that looks and acts like her is passionate about the same topics. This creates hope that they could find someone for them in the same way, and, she's desirable. Is there another reason why she hid her boyfriend from the world?

Too many people blindly supporting this video. She stays successful due to maintaining her image and doing anyone dirty who exposes how fake she is. I take it people here forget how she tried to take down videos and apologizes to maintain the image but continues to do the same things later? It isn’t accountability, it’s damage control. Her fake crying was pretty pathetic. And don’t forget how dirty she did Fedmeister even after leading him on.

Most big streamers are male though. Not all female streamers get as huge as her. Multi millionaire streamer.
