I really encourage people to watch SypherPK's take on wagering in fortnite because he explains it well and why he never took part in it. From a legal and ethical standpoint, children gambling (which yes wagering is a form of gambling) is bad in itself (and most of the community is children under 18). Wagers and custom games that have money prizes on the line cannot be moderated by a bigger company like EPIC that can confirm those transactions as valid earnings and can send those earnings to the account the guardian or parent designates. A tournament run by EPIC makes sense because children under 18 have to get their parents permission. Don't get me wrong, I totally understand how fun wagers and custom prize games can be and it really has become a big thing in the community. But again, you have to look at the legal and ethical perspective on this because that is an issue that is hard for epic, twitch, etc to oversee .
