Streaming on Starlink - 2024 Review

hi can you stream games on twitch or youtube with star link with out any lag delay?

Hey 👋 personally I had quite a few issues with it, even on a low bitrate. Here’s a good example of one of my streams while using the Starlink: www.twitch.tv/videos/2131820892 As you can see about 10mins in everything becomes choppy and my audio is out of sync. Then if you compare it to my latest VOD on twitch using normal Internet, it’s much smoother.

Sounds nice! I think if you don’t play competitive FPS games and you don’t mind streaming at 720p / 30fps / 3000 Bitrate then you should be ok 👌

I am not sure I understand here. Did you put in DNS and 5GHZ? I was fast-tracking this video, but I never saw you optimize it for streaming?

Hey! So this wasn't a guide on how to optimise the Starlink for Streaming, but an honest review. I work in Tech, the first thing I did was set up 5GHZ and the Base DNS for Google and Cloudflare. It made a minimal difference for me in all honesty, this was direct from Starlink to Ethernet switch to PC. It really got bad on FPS games, the latency and packet loss was unforgivable this was with low bitrate streaming settings and even with a 720p base canvas resolution. @@ItsTicTactical Ah, I guess we cannot be all lucky😅 I am an IT guy, too, and for me, Google DNS and 5GHZ made a huge difference. However, I am in a rural area in the Philippines. Thanks for answering😍😍

@@eotinternational I'm glad it works for you! 😃I absolutley loved the idea of Starlink, but I'm fortunate enough to have Full Fibre 1000mbps in my area now, but obviously like you said for Rural locations this bit of kit is very impressive. do you know if with priority plan of starlink (180$ / month) you get better internet for streaming?

@@metagameteam Hey 👋 So I never used the priority plan, but from what I hear they don’t significantly boost throughput. They mainly ensure your packets are prioritised over those without priority during network congestion. Upload speeds and overall performance during peak times will be better for sure.
