Did it require a larger 15" rim/wheel (stock 14").

Sorry for the delay reply... I'm running 15" BL wheels so I cannot say for certain that the kit works with stock wheels. However, Streamline states the kit will work with 14" wheels, but they state it has to be a true 14" wheel...what every the crap that means! It sounds like it would be hit and miss with 14" wheels, but my best guess is that stock would be ok otherwise streamline would state aftermarket wheel are required (or state kit doesn't work with stock wheels). I wish I could be of more help...

@@SteveSmith-wl8yq thank you for responding:) I'm not sure about the "true 14 inch" either, I guess I could measure one to see, but I'm thinking the 15 inchers would be less likely to get a rock stuck in between. Add them to the wish list lol. Thanks again Have a great weekend:)

@@bradwellen5765 The never ending wish lists ... lol ... been there done that and still doing that! lol ... A little more info...I went to a 15" wheel just for that very same reason (rocks and wheel gap). I had picked up several deep rock gouges on the inside of the stock wheels because the clearances are too small IMHO. If you decide to do the brake mod ... then make sure to apply heat to the brake rotor mounting torx screws/bolts. Mine were impossible to get off/out without heat directly on them. Also, you might want to make sure you have at least one back-up torx bit ... it is easy to break them if they are not high grade/quality bits.

Glad you found the info useful. One other thing...I'd 100% swap out the brake fluid with something as good as Motul 600 or 660. Once I put in the upgraded brakes I ended up getting almost NO braking after aggressive repeated use (boiled the stock fluid)...had to change my driving pace (back off a lot) once the pedal started going deeper into the stroke.

Was looking to do this upgrade... thanks for the great video & info!! Question; did you have to get extended brakelines?

No, stock brake line length was not a problem on my install (and I specifically checked it to make extra sure everything was good). Two special notes: 1) It is one of the best upgrades I've done (stock brakes were a massive disappointment) 2) Make sure to replace your brake fluid with a performance brand (i.e., MOTUL RBF 600 or 660) .. the stock fluid cannot handle the heat load in the calipers. Also, make sure to push pucks back in/out several times "after" getting the new fluid to the calipers...this gets all stock fluid out of puck cavities...otherwise you will still have the old brake fluid in the puck cavities). Note: I lost almost all pedal pressure (stock fluid) several times while navigating down mountain trails/roads...but I tend to push it a little more than the avg SBS driver...this video shows my normal relaxed pace so you can sort-of see what I'm asking from the brakes on a normal ride kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6mkqZ97q8x2sLM

A 1" change in tire diameter isn't gonna make a difference like you try to scare people into thinking
@SteveSmith-wl8yq
@SteveSmith-wl8yq 8 ай бұрын
I wouldn't say I'm trying to scare anyone...and almost 2k people agree with me. However, I do agree that I could have explained myself better...meaning...I should have clearly stated that the stock brakes, with the stock tires, already felt way to weak to support my style of driving/attacking...and going with a larger (taller and heavier) tire only exacerbated the issue. Yes, taller is not the only force impacting the workload of the brakes...rotation mass also factors in. The increased rotational mass linked with the slightly extra leverage (T = force applied x lever arm) the taller tires applied against the already overworked brakes, made the stoke brakes completely fad on tighter twisty trails (especially when trail braking into corners/turns). This (brake fad issue) didn't happen as quickly or as bad with the stock diameter tires (leverage and rotational mass equations at work -- simple math). Thank you for your feedback...

@SteveSmith-wl8yq naw... a 1" increase in OD isn't going to create the lack of responsiveness in the brakes you wanna make people think PERIOD... you already had some other issue affecting your brakes

@@CristianZamora I see...an internet KZbin troll. I'll state this for the people that might read to the end of this thread. You know nothing about how aggressive I drive my SBS, nor how much braking performance I expect/ask from the stock brakes. I was already asking too much from them with a stock setup...and thus...just adding the simple increase in tire size pushed them to work harder (I agree, not much harder, but physics is on my side...the brakes have to work harder). Brakes that are already working at their performance limit, are impacted, and it can be felt, with just a 1" increase in OD of the tire. Additionally, the extra rotational mass linked with the extra tire width...giving more traction and thus increasing the amount of energy the rotating mass can exhibit on the brake workload...pushes brakes performing at their limit past their design limit. But hey, you already know everything about my SBS, my driving style and skill level, my mechanical knowledge, etc... So, like I said, all this is not for you, but it is for anyone that reads down this far, because you have clearly shown that you know enough to think you are right, but do not know enough to know that you are wrong! PERIOD!! 😉

@SteveSmith-wl8yq you content creators HATE when someone with knowledge disputes your BS... I was rebuilding ATVs at 7 years old, many more years experience than 99% of you folks have... HOW you drive DOES NOT matter... a 1" increase in diameter won't cause the decrease in braking like you wanna make folks believe... I'm NOT doubting the need nor your decision for the big brake kit... I'm TELLING you that a 1" upsize DOES NOT justify it... maybe you need to work on your reading comprehension

@@CristianZamora wow... your knowledge is amazing! First you know exactly what I was thinking and why I posted the video. Then you disagree with statements with absolutely no actual facts or data provided to support your opinion. Then you tell me how I actually feel about you disagreeing with my take on things (that I HATE the feedback). Then to top it all off, you state your have far more experience than 99% of the people you have not met nor know anything more about them other than watching a video they posted. Simply amazing that you know so much about so many things, including people's own knowledge/experience, thoughts, and motives. And seeing your choice of words...just taking an educated guess here...but it seems that you have had similar interactions with other video channels/posts. You definitely have provided some entertainment...and I thank you for that. I'm guesses that most other reviewers will find it entertaining as well. I especially find in humorous when you stated that "I'm TELLING you..." IMHO, you seem like a male version of a Karen!! lol... 😂😂
