Stree actually means 'lady' or 'woman'. So this film also has hidden meanings in every dialogues. Eg: "Stree calls your name with a lot of love that you can't ignore her', "Stree does not force men", "you can't refuse her third call" this was actually a very advanced level of dialogue writing! so this is about all women! Also hidden meanings in scenes like when Vicky wants to take her measurements, he asks her first.

Gadar 2 was just cringe but people put so much hype bcoz of superstar family. Whereas shraddha kapoor is a daughter of struggler's daughter Shakti Kapoor(no hate). If she would've been popular family member she would've got amazing oppurtinites. Stree is an audience film no hype from the industry with no big stars. This is why people are jealous of Stree,stree 2.

Stree 1 is a very well made movie. The originality of the Stree 1, the suspense, story telling, pacing and everything is just top tier. Where as Stree 2 is just masala movie.

Here's why you are missing the jokes. The ghost is called "Stree", which actually means "The Woman". This movie is a layered comedy, its a satire on patriarchal society. In this movie they try to reverse the genders and make it hard for men to go out at night, calling it unsafe for men.

After reading the subs I can say that most of the jokes are lost in translation itself while rest might have cultural references. This movie doesn't have much jokes on Physical comedy or situational, most of the jokes are in the dialogues & the accents so Ig it was difficult to understand for Jaby & Achara at first.
