Manon being taller is a pretty clever detail. Judo is mostly known for its iconic shoulder throws and that’s what the media always use. However, taller Judoka relies much more on leg based moves. That’s exactly what Manon does. Her entire throw animations are based on foot sweeps, leg reaping, hip throws etc. Manon is unique in that she’s probably the only character in media who shows off mostly leg based moves instead of iconic shoulder throw and I love Capcom for that.

It's just nice having another French character in fighting games in general, and I say this as someone with no real love for the country. Hell, even as someone who used to play Remy, it's nice to see a (French) character who just clearly enjoys fighting without being a bullying ass about it or, in Remy's case, an emo kind of hypocrite working through anger issues. (Abel is in a weird spot as someone who is both amnesiac *and* a clone, to the point that I'm still unsure if he should count as "actually" French given Seth sure as hell isn't, but I'm digressing.)

Harai Goshi (last move on her lvl 3 super) is kinda a signature move on Judo, usually the one of the first throws technique you learn. As a former Judo Athlete, I am amused with her animations. You are absolutely right about the foot techniques plus her crouch animation is a common thing in Judo, I will definitely try her.

Manon's fighting style is creative and well-executed. She really feels fresh as a grappler, whereas Lily feels more like an evolution of T. Hawk. I'm excited for both of them (and Zangief as well, of course). As a longtime player of Street Fighter, it warms my dusty old heart to see that Capcom can still come up with cool and interesting new characters.

The only thing that bugs me with her animations is that I can almost see the wireframe underneath. It makes me think of one of those wooden dolls for drawing. I think it's because she makes so many movements, but her muscles do not change. The realism is starting to reach that uncanny valley, which wasn't a problem in the more cartoony SF games (even SFV).

Couldn't help but notice that they even animated the toes of these characters with the same care as fingers such as when characters form fists or taunt. Manon's toes are literally gripping and clinging at the ground plane for balance. Most fighting game animators neglect these sort of elements. That's REALLY impressive attention to detail!
