Ryu literally has nearly zero answers to Terry because Terry lacks punish window opportunities compared to Ryu, who has tons of punish windows for Terry to exploit (that's messed up, Capcom). This explains why Yas gets punished hard when he is pulled into Terry's beatdown vortex. Yas' Ryu had no answers to counter hardly against any of Terry's attacks. Right now, my boy Terry is too safe when it comes to his recovery windows, which I don't like as I am a believer of "high risk, high rewards" and "low risk, low rewards". Sad to say, but unlike other Top Tier characters such as Ed, Akuma, Rashid and Cammy, Ryu can only beat a Terry player through quick whiff punishing, which requires fast reaction speed. If you have slow reactions and struggle with whiff punishing, you're likely to lose against a skilled Terry player when using Ryu. Trying to counter Terry through move exchanges (rock-paper-scissors mechanics) will also lead to losing, as the windows for exchange opportunities are far and few, especially with Terry's unfair hit priorities on many of his normals (especially crouching medium punch and kick). This is why Yas never engages in move exchange situations, as he knows that Ryu will surely lose in such confrontations. It's puzzling from a storyline perspective, considering that Ryu is supposed to be a near grand master and yet struggles with move exchanges, unlike Ken. Oh well. There's no point complaining as this is what Capcom wants as part of their business strategy.

This is a weird conclusion to come to from a match that went 3-3.
