When I was growing up in the 90's before they actually told us what Ryu was saying. Everytime he did the Shoryuken I thought he was actually saying "SURE YOU CAN !!!" and I thought to myself. . I'm using him and he's giving ME encouragement. That's awful nice of him. I had a chuckle years later when I found out what he was actually saying.

Woulda been nice to see all the different specialties of the different shoryukens. As someone who doesn't play sf, I know- at the very least- Sakura runs up to someone all the way to half the stage before attacking. But it wasn't shown here

There is Ryu, who just does the basic Dragon Punch into the sky, Ken- who does several of them or in most games- just nakes a large pillar of fire with his uppercut- then Sakura who dashes at the opponent before using her Dragon Punch, and Akuma who's DP is almost instantaneous.

Only just realised Dan uses a Koryu-ken. If I’m right that’s a rising dragon carp fist. He’s not even a dragon yet, he’s still a carp in the middle of becoming a dragon.

Dan alpha 2 dragon punch was awesome and it was never seen again. First dan never extended his arm for the dragon punch, plus it had that sick flash effect.

Shoryuken becomes less unique and special when a lot of characters can do it, like highschool girls and joke character like Dan even with different name from other characters like Sagat an Akuma

I think SF is best fighting game ever, but gawdamn i hated that they gave too many characters a dragon punch move. That, to me, lessened the special essence of the move. Ryu used this move to bust open a super bad ass mfer like Sagat. Ken ran the fade on t-hawk in the parking lot with the move. It really should have stayed with ken, Ryu, goken, and Akuma, even Sagat because he wanted a similar move to Ryu because if their rivalry. Characters that made the move stupid for the franchise. Dan- (excluding his alpha 2 dragon punch because he never fully extended his punching arm and it had a nice flash to it, which could mean he has potential but can't bring it out considering that he was a former gouken student) Sakura- being a Ryu fan girl doesn't mean you get his move set. Now she could have a dragon punch but it didn't have to be a running version of shoryuken. Dudley- why does a boxer need dragon punch or better yet a shoryureppa knock off. Sean- i feel he should have a different version of dragon punch since he can't throw hadokens. Which also means Sakura, an fan girl, got way further in martial arts by simply mimicking Ryu than he did eventhough he was actually training with Ken. Not being sexist but I just think Sean shouldnt be inferior to Sakura. Sean's original dragon punch was cool because he added the extra punch, but it was too knock off for me. Let the masters have the move, come up with something different. Sean should have been more Allen snider-like. Luke- if he mocks the hadoken then why does he have a cheap knock ofg dragon punch. He should have something different. Let's be real SF defies physics all the time. Why do these characters need to have a jumping uppercut when they can basically do anything in mid air. Luke should be using some suped up version of a super man punch, not some art of fighting off brand shoryuken. Seth- c'mon now... I'm probably missing more characters but damn did they make the shoryuken oversaturated.

I’m pretty sure Yuri is imitating Ryu clearly so her Rising Dragon Punch doesn’t count as a Shoryuken count. Ok who’s Toro? That’s Street Fighter X Tekken, Toro shouldn’t be in there. Yuri and Toro do not count as Street Fighter characters since Yuri is from Ryuuko no Ken, which is from SNK and not Capcom. I have definitely no idea who Toro is. Some “crossover guest character” addition? No idea.

2:29 street fighter 4 had the best Shoryuken ultimate. It had the most weight and impact. Hadn't had one nearly as epic since. You can hear the bones crackling and the way he rib checks makes me really feel like it does damage. The splat noise at the end was a nice touch making it sound as though he pretty much separated his opponents head from their neck with he uppercut. The music even cuts completely from the moment his fist makes contact. They need to bring this version back. I like the hypers being dramatic.

Never really liked playing as Ryu or Ken, but when I started playing with Sakura I ended up having a lot of fun. A good balance between those two and Chun Li's speed. Plus I'm terrible at spacing shoryukens.
