This is a playthrough using Allen Snider in the Arcade version of Street Fighter EX 1. Read on below for more information...
Allen is a hidden character in the game, he becomes playable through time-release.
===== HOW TO UNLOCK ALLEN =====
As well as time-release, there is also a hidden input code that unlocks him straight away. Here's how to do it:
1) Go into the game's Test Menu, and enter into the Color option.
2) Now input the following: LP, MP, HP, HP, HK. If you've done it correctly, the "Here Comes A New Challenger" text will appear at the bottom of the screen. Allen will now be unlocked, along with Kairi, Blair and Darun.
===== ABOUT ALLEN =====
He is a martial artist who was once considered to be the best Karate master in the United States, until a then-unknown Ken Masters bested him in the first match of the All American Martial Arts Tournament. Afterwards, he was told by Ken that here was still a "big fish in a small pond".
This motivated him to renew his training, whereby he developed new techniques which are based on Ken's, such as the Rising Dragon and Soul Force. Allen began traveling the world to prove that he is not only the "biggest fish in his pond", but also the "biggest in the ocean".
Gameplay-wise, as he has the fireball and dragon punch you could say that he is somewhat of a Ryu/Ken clone, but he also has his own unique moves which brings a completely different side of gameplay for him.
===== ADDITIONAL INFORMATION /TRIVIA =====
---- He, along with the other time-release characters, does not appear as a CPU opponent in the game.
---- His character design is based on real life martial artists Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee.
---- In Fighting Layer, Allen's last super move is called the "Galaxy". This move can be used in Street Fighter EX3 as one of Ace's Meteor Combos. This is unique because Allen isn't in SFEX3.
---- He appears in an early beta development version of SFEX, shown in a video online. He was called Cashew Snider in the beta.
===== ABOUT ARCADE SFEX1 =====
Back then, the idea of a 3D Street Fighter game certainly got everyone's interest... then Arika said yes and Street Fighter EX was born. The game was reportedly not well-received at first, but eventually the gameplay won the people over. The Specials into Supers and Supers into Supers cancelling was one of the best things about the gameplay and kind of set it as a trademark for SFEX.
This version of the game also sees the debuts of the "Arika characters", with Pullum, Cracker Jack, Hokuto, Doctrine Dark and Skullomania appearing initially on the character select screen, then later on Blair, Allen, Darun and Kairi being available through time release. Garuda serves as an unplayable hidden mid-boss character.
These Akira characters turned out to be pretty popular... so 22 years later, here they are again in Fighting EX Layer. Time flies by.

Go to the test menu, then go in color, then press LP, MP, HP, HP, HK. If you entered correctly, you should see "HERE COMES A NEW CHALLENGER" at the bottom and you unlock Allen, Kairi, Darun and Blair.

He's like the Dan of this game and I love that.

Dan struggles to throw fireballs, Allen can't Tatsu. They both improvise to make up for their shortcoming.

Definitely not, Allen is actually VERY good gameplay wise and even in canon he's a competent fighter as well, seeing that he was the former US Martial Arts champion before being dethroned by Ken. Dan can't compare.

Expect he's actually good compared to Dan. I like how his Justice Fist is based on Karate's Lunge Punch. You can tell his character design is based on Chuck Norris.
