The yellow one is Cyrax his known for the net and the red one is Sektor Cyrax’s superior Scorpion Skull? His first fatality was called Toasty when he pulls of the mask and it turns into a skull because he was a warrior from the nether realm once was Earth realm but turned nether realm by being revived by Quan-Chi the guy on the far left in the Kombat pack 1 trailer with Omni-Man and Homelander The guy who can rip his own arm of? He was Havik known as the cleric of chaos once was in Chaos realm but hear his lives in order realm One more thing you should probably know: The skeleton army are known as the Immortal Army because they were skeletons they can’t die and there master the Dragon King was over throned by Shao by poison but will he return?

There are tree types of like brutal tings 1:Fatality 2:Brutality 3:faltal blow You can differentiate them bye looking at sometimg the fatality and brutality is when you like you remove body parts from your opponent and the fatal blow is when you dont remove body parts

To answer your question about Mileena had Tarkatan qualities in the previous era. She was created using Tarkatan blood along with Kitanas blood, by Shang Tsung in the Fleshpits of Outworld. This era is quite interesting and I’m excited to see the story unfold.

some more context for the lin kuei members: scorpion used to be in a japanese clan called the shirai ryu, whom rivaled with sub zero's lin kuei clan. In the new timeline, scorpion and sub zero are blood brothers instead of enemies and are both in the lin kuei also in the original mk1 sub zero was "Bi Han" and was killed by scorpion as he was framed for killing his clan (it was quan chi who did it) and the sub zero name was taken by his brother Kuai Liang, and in this game sub zero is back to Bi Han and scorpion is believed to be Kuai Liang

36:56. Past timeline Mileena was created by Shang Tsung as a clone from Kitana’s genetics, they share blood but they’re not actual sisters in a way. The “disease” was also an actual race of a tribe in outworld… so Mileena only happened via cross genetics sorcery This new Mk1 timeline Mileena and Kitana are actual twin sisters and the Tarkatan race are now Tarkat disease that seems to be contagious in a way, as of now due to unknown reason, Mileena got the disease and her family are trying to keep that secrets from the public so it doesn’t jeopardize her being an inheritance daughter of the next throne

I played X and 11 but only last year so I was late and I didn't even really play the stories so I don't know much more but I love all the freedom and fatalities and these frickin trailers got me so hyped! the scorpion cameo that can turn into a skeleton is because thats the revenant version who is serving quan chi. So hes like an undead hellspawn basically (also the OG scorpion fatality was he ripped is own face off to reveal a flaming skull and used flame breath to incinerate his opponent.

This new timeline pretty much changed everything and their lore. Previously, Tarkartans were not a disease but a race itself. Milenna was just a clone made by Shang Tsung (the sorcerer from the last trailer) from kitanna and Tarkartan DNA. New timeline, Milenna is not a clone but an actual sister. Probably someone poisoned her so that she would get Tarkat

You really should react to the MK lore to get up to speed, you showed a lot of gaps in MK knowledge in this video alone. It could possibly distract you from enjoying this new story when you play it. I'd recommed "The Komplete History of Mortal Kombat" playlist by MK Temple, It's really thorough and I think it's the most accurate and complete with the lore.

The "ninjas" of the original 2D games were really only "ninjas" through necessity of the times to buff up the roster, ie. palette-swapping. Scorpion was the only one that's a ninja in the actual lore, though the Lin Kuei borrow a good few tropes and tactics of their own, especially Smoke in later games compared to his brethren. When they moved to 3D and beyond, they went to great lengths to differentiate all the other "ninja" characters into what they were originally envisioned, Rain being a noble prince, Reptile as... a reptile, etc.

The x-rays are called fatal blows (previously called as x-rays in mk9 and mkx), they're not fatalities but think of it as rage burst from tekken 7 or super special moves Fatalities on the other hand are just finishers with style and they only work at the end of a match As for Kameo Scorpion being a skeleton, he's Hanzo Hasashi from the previous timelines (MK1-MK11). The reason he's like that is because he was killed by Bi-Han (Sub-Zero) but revived as a revenant by Quan-Chi. As for MK1 Scorpion, he's now Kuai Liang who was previously the 2nd Sub-Zero in the previous timeline. MK storyline is deeper and complicated, I'd recommend at least watch the complete timeline videos on youtube or start from MK9-MK11😅

At some point in the timeline, Edenia merged with outworld, so technically there are 5 main realms. It is unknown if the two are still merged or not in this new timeline. There are several other realms that exist, but they are either not cannon or mini realms

Sounds like you have a lot of catching up to do. It seems like you are somewhat familiar with the most well known, core characters but there's a lot of characters that you aren't aware of or familiar with and I would recommend going over the storylines of the last few games at least. Also they are bringing back some of the characters from the MK4-MK Armageddon era so going back and checking out those games will also give you some good context as well. As far as the realms go, as far as I'm aware of there's Edenia which was merged with Outworld after losing the Mortal Kombat tournament 10 times in a row, then there's Earthrealm, the Netherrealm (aka Hell), Order realm and Chaos Realm. The Lin Kuei is the clan of Sub Zero and Smoke. In the original timeline Scorpion (Hanzo Hasashi) was a member of the Shirai-Ryu, but in this timeline he's the literal brother of Sub-zero and also a member of the Lin Kuei. Rain isn't a ninja but a prince of Edenia and the illegitimate son of a god which is where he gets his powers from as a half god himself, in this timeline Liu Kang has rewritten him to be a sorcerer

I’m gonna post 2 comments to help give some much needed context and info. (Edit, this ended up being way longer than anticipated but I would also highly recommend you watch a video that includes the entire cutscene movie for MK 9, MK X, and MK 11 + Aftermath) This first post is about the story, MK1 is technically a second reboot of the Mortal Kombat series but it works as a sequel as well. The first 8 games from Midway (I’ll abbreviate Mortal Kombat to MK for short in the later installments): Mortal Kombat , Mortal Kombat II, Mortal Kombat 3 (it got 2 remakes in the form of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and MK Trilogy), MK 4, MK Deadly Alliance, MK Deception, and finally MK Armageddon. There’s also Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe that’s not the best installment but did pave the way for the Injustice series down the road. The first 3 games are considered as the classic arcade era while MK 4 through Armageddon are called the 3D era as that was where the series transitioned from 2D into 3D. The first reboot began with Mortal Kombat 9 simply titled Mortal Kombat, this takes place right after Armageddon and is called the modern era or NRS era (named after the studio Netherrealm Studios). MK 9 retells the events of the original Mortal Kombat arcade games up to MK3 with more fleshed out characters, character interactions, and a dramatic change in direction. Because MK 9 takes place after Armageddon, Raiden sent visions of all of the series of events that lead to Shao Kahn’s ultimate victory in Armageddon to himself in the past. Those visions made him change certain aspects that lead to alternate events such as Shao Kahn being permanently killed than being forced to retreat into hiding. Those changes also caused some events to either never happen, speed up, or change dramatically such as Kitana discovering Shang Tsung’s creations using her and Tarkartan DNA (in this timeline Tarkartans are their own race of demonic/mutant creatures) to creat her own clone named Mileena, the Lin Kuie were hunting some their own members to enforce them into to undergo the cyber initiative where they become androids (Smoke was one of those members who Raiden saved but Sub Zero was taken instead), and instead of Johnny Cage being killed during Shao Kahn’s invasion, every single one of Raiden’s champions were killed excluding Johnny and Sonya (this also caused the heroes to become evil undead revenants of themselves to serve Quan Chi, a demon sorcerer from the Netherrealm). MK 10, or MKX for short, picks up 25 years later after Shao Kahn’s death. The ending of MK 9 teased the return of a banished elder god named Shinnok from MK 4 and his conquest for total annihilation, MKX begins near the climax of his war where Johnny Cage became the one who defeated Shinnok, sealing him inside his own amulet which was a powerful weapon that can obliterate anything. Along the aftermath of Shinnok’s imprisonment, Raiden was able to revive Jax, Sub Zero, and Scorpion from their revenant lives during a manhunt for Quan Chi (they were the only ones present at the time to be rescued while the rest were still revenants). This installment also introduced the new generation, Cassie Cage (Johnny and Sonya’s daughter), Jacquie Briggs (Jax’s daughter), Kung Jin (Kung Lao’s cousin), and Takeda Takahashi (Kenshi’s son). A majority of this game is about the power struggle between Mileena and a new character named Kotal, who usurped Mileena from the throne and forced her to create her own army after Reptile and Ermac chose to rebel against her). It also introduced a bug lady named D’Vorah who not only took part in helping Kotal usurp Mileena but also worked as Quan Chi’s spy to take back Shinnok’s amulet and release him. There’s so much to explore about MKX but to summarize the ending, Scorpion was finally able to get his revenge by killing Quan Chi which also meant the heroes who remained as revenants stayed as revenants, Lui Kang and Kitana now ruled the Netherrealm as the undead King and Queen, Kotal Kahn became a more cold hearted ruler, and Raiden now took a dark path by being less sympathetic and more aggressive. That’s where MK 11 comes in and tries to undo everything. There are only 3 characters worth mentioning, Cetrion the Goddess of life and Shinnok’s sister, Gearas an immortal being who guards the hourglass that controls time, and Kronika a Titan of time who controls said hourglass and the mother of both Cetrion and Shinnok. The hourglass and Kronika’s crown are the only things that matter in MK 11’s story because the crown is needed to have full control over the hourglass while the hourglass itself acts as the mechanism for controlling both time and destiny. It was Kronika who brought back younger versions of familiar characters as a means of building her defenses for creating one final timeline that would’ve been perfect in her version of equilibrium between good and evil. Because Raiden changed things she had planned for her era, Kronika summoned her daughter to betray the elder gods she was a member of and used Gearas as a means of defending and gathering power for one final reset. That is where Raiden gave his Godhood status to Revenant Lui Kang in a means of purifying his soul after he devoured his own soul from the past (in short, Evil Liu Kang stole his own soul from the past when he was still alive). The end result is where Liu Kang, the fire god, becomes the new guardian of time and where MK 1 is set to continue.

A tip for kombos that helped me is input them all before the animation plays not after sometimes that can be difficult because of the short animation that that you have to input the rest of the kombo or at least the next few clicks before it ends

All of the characters in the MK1 initial roster, whether they are playable or Kameo, have been in previous games before. Geras is technically the newest one out of them as he was introduced in MK11 (in fact he’s the only character from MK11 who is playable in MK1), whereas everyone else existed before. A good amount of these characters haven’t been in an actual game since MK Armageddon, such as Nitara, Ashrah, Darrius, Shujinko, etc. There have been some who were mentioned or shown before in the stories of MK9-11, though have not been playable. Li Mei and Sareena were shown for a short time in MKX, Motaro was shown briefly in MK9, and Havik was mentioned in MK11 Aftermath. Interestingly enough, this is also the first NRS game where Rain is part of the initial roster. He was DLC in MK9 and MK11, and while he was in the story of MKX, he was never playable in that game.

Ngl, i think you should watch some sort MK lore/story from like Scorpion on what you said Which i will give a lil backstory on him (i may get some things wrong, been awhile since then) Scorpion was a normal human ninja that was part of a another clan called the Shirai Ryu. But later having the "Lin Kuei" ambush killing all of Scorpion clan and family, including him too But when he was in the NetherRealm, he seeked out vengeance for his clan and family. Thats when he made a lil deal with Quan Chi to be basically like Ghost Rider like you said and get revenge, so then he joined the Mortal Kombat tourny in MK9 to get revenge for what happened, he did.... But the wrong Sub-Zero, who he killed was the Brother of one of them named Bi-Han (aka now known as Noob Saibot). Soon, the other brother (i think his name was Tundra or something like i heard in MK9 story) was told that his brother got killed by Scorpion, he wanted revenge for his brother. But after awhile and mix ups and fighting or whatever (skip over to MKX), Scorpion also found out that Bi-Han didn't actually killed Scorpion clan and family but rather it was Quan Chi in disguise AS Bi-Han. So Scorpion went out and killed Quan Chi in revenge AGAIN, which also was a success. After getting his revenge, he went back to Sub-Zero to make a truce with him and became a great allies/friends... almost like brothers in a way, too. And now they're great friends all throughout now

Just to add some Van Damme recommendations (I've seen all of his films): - Hard Target - Bloodsport - Double Impact - Lionheart - Cyborg - JCVD The newer one Lukas (aka The Bouncer) is pretty solid too. I'd also recommend Universal Soldier films (co starring Dolph Lundgren, Michael Jai White, Scott Adkins and Andrei Arlovsky); I am in minority, but my favorite one is Universal Soldier: Day of Redemption (imo one of the best lower budget action flicks ever; I'm a fan of Adkins too btw). But there's more fun films with him: Nowhere to Run, Kickboxer, Knock Off, Sudden Death, Maximum Risk, The Quest, In Hell and more. There's also a bunch of bad movies with him, especially after 2000. He also played main role in Street Fighter (based on the video game), the film is pretty bad, but has some redeeming qualities and fun dialogues.

The guy who shows up with the taser (Stryker) is probably one of my favorite Mortal Kombat characters because he's literally JUST a street cop. He has no powers, he has no special abilities, he's literally just a cop who was in the wrong place at the wrong time and ended up having to help save the world. Like even other characters with no special abilities like Sonya Blade and Jax at least have insane amounts of combat training + insane tech, this dudes just got a taser and a baton out here killing gods Also if you do want to catch up with the timeline, I recommend just playing 9, 10 and 11. 9 re-tells the story up to that point (mainly focusing on the first 4 games but iirc it also roughly goes through some of the other stuff), then 10 and 11 are original stories following the events of 9. It also helps you avoid playing some of the jankier games in the series, as much as I love MK, not all the games are gems lmfao

MK is 8 buttons and has been for years.. It’s not just attack buttons and hold back to block.. It’s designed with console and controller in mind, not arcade in mind like most other fighters and that’s probably the main reason it sells so much, it’s super accessible.. If devs of other fighters wanna catch up in terms of sales they have to modernise and forget about arcades.. Gaming is big these days, it wasn’t in the 90s.

Yeah I think I'm probably gonna end up liking how MK plays a lot mroe than SF if this is the case! I don't wanna use Modern controls on SF because of the draw backs but I'm still finding it hard to adjust back and force between a 6 pad layout and the regular dualsense

@@ChocolateKieran I’d never go out of my way to shit on other fighters, I don’t play them so I can’t, but the main reason I don’t play them is because everything is geared towards an arcade experience and that’s never been my thing and it’s barely anyones thing.. Some people can do it on controller but I just can’t.. If SF had a control scheme that fit controller I’d 100% play it because I do like it but their “modern controls” is a bit of a joke, a terrible way to try make the game more accessible, punished for using a control scheme that is easier to use on a controller? Why? Does playing on stick take more skill or something? No, it just means you have spent money and time on a stick unlike 99.9% of people who play games.. And the way they’ve done it is like a “errrrr you’re stupid, press one button”, no one wants one button gameplay, just something that works on a D-pad.. Remove diagonal inputs, simple as that, that’s all they had to do.. It’d make playing on controller ten times easier without affecting players who play on a stick at all and the “hardcore” fans would have no reason to cry.. It’s good they’re trying to modernise but they went about it I the wrong way.. I don’t think they understand what makes MK so popular, it’s not just the blood and tiddies, it’s the accessibility to the modern gamer who plays at home on a console, it’s 2023, they’re stuck in 1993..

37:05 right, so the originally, it wasn't a disease. Before Liu Akng reset the timeline and shapes inmt in his image, The Tarkatan were a race of people. Mileena was originally a clone of Mileena mixed with Tarkatan DNA, as an attempt to make someone like Mileena, but more bloodthristy and with the will to act as a sort of personal assassin. Liu kang kinda wmated to give everyone mroe of an equal chance, and doesn't seem to be capable of erasing people from timelines, so he removed factors and changed some origins

In the previous timeline, Milleena was a construct of Shang Tsume's creation, in his flesh pits, with Kitanas and Tarkatan DNA. Kitana was to be replaced with Milleena, as Shao Khans' true daughter, one that he could be proud of, Kitana betrayed him and joined Rayden & Lui Kang side once she found out that Shao Khan hid this from her, his own step daughter.

"Tanya looks familiar" idk to me she looks like Jada Pinkett Geras is some sort of golem who can manipulate time and the time sand he is made out of to serve the Keeper of Time (Kronika in MK11, Liu Kang in MK1) and defend the hourglass. He is immortal because he can resurrect every time he is killed, coming back stronger "I'll be a kickboxer, you a street fighter" Yes it is a reference to Street Fighter, only because JCVD appeared in the live action movie for it (he was Guile). Kickboxer is also one of his movies In previous timelines, Tarkatans were a race like any other that had been conquered by Shao Kahn. Kitana was Shao's stepdaughter whose father was killed and her realm was merged into outworld. Her disdain for Outworld and Shao made him ask Shang Tsung to clone her and Shang had made Mileena, a clone of Kitana with Tarkatan DNA, to compensate for her lack of viciousness and obedience. This time thanks to Liu Kang: they're twin sisters, Shao's power has been reduced to that of a general, Sindel is alive, benevolent and in charge, Shang is a petty oil salesman and Tarkatans are people afflicted with a disease.
